The town has been nothing short of nightmarish, although at least its creatures are swift enough to be dispatched of...just numerous. And the people in it...

Some have been fine. It's just that Alucard seems to have somehow drawn a short straw somewhere, because the 'guide' he ended up falling loosely in line with when he begrudgingly arrived in order to help fell some massive, alleged beast that had been plaguing the town has been nothing short of a goddamn-- ]

You fool! [ Alucard's hand is on the back of the man's neck, none too kind and yet no claws rip through his gloves out of anger or threat...he's simply using the quickest possible option for getting the man's head out of the range of the arrow that was just launched by...well, whatever the hell sort of creature's currently hiding further away in the woods from them, carrying a bow. ]

And you mean to tell me this is your job. That defensive tactics are your specialty. [ Alucard? Panicking and angry because he doesn't want to watch another human die in front of himself? Ridiculous. He turns from Kaeya with bared fangs and quite literally disappears, intent on running up to whatever's shooting at them this time and taking care of it himself. ]

When Robin spends time enough in London, he grows accustomed to the crowding and the stench and even the taste of it, a sort of soot on the tongue and an itch in the back of the throat. Too much smoke, always, and too much time trapped indoors. Returning to court or departing on one of Oberon's errands reminds him exactly how filthy the city is, despite its modern trappings.

Stepping onto Olympus only further reinforces the unpleasant truth. The air atop the mountain ledges is clear enough to burn the lungs in an entirely different way--as if it scorches out the dust with every breath. The warmth of the sun, the green of the slopes, the marble and gold and glass of Zeus' palace, all of it cleanses in unexpectedly healing ways. He's struck by the hopeless wish that he could show this to Kit. Even without the divine aspect, a week out in the countryside would do him a world of good.

But there's little time for that. Rehearsals are going well, and when Kit isn't busy at the theater, he's tucked away in his room, writing like a madman. Robin can't be unhappy about any of the demands on Kit's time, but he can take himself out of the way for a while.

He's pushing the boundaries a bit, coming to Olympus without the excuse of an official errand. He has his own errand, of course--returning the purchases Ganymede made in Cambridge but couldn't retrieve before his sudden departure with Zeus. Mostly, however, he wants to see how welcome he'll be without the veneer of Oberon's respectability. He wants to be able to visit Ganymede on his own initiative, rather than waiting on the Summer King's whims.

He wants to know if Olympus is somewhere he can feel relatively safe.
