THE (new year) FIGHT MEME



What else needs to be said? Release your inner warrior and partake in some epic (or hilariously bad) battles! Do you use a sword? Are you a martial arts master? Are you a wizard? Can you even fight?

It doesn't matter if you're just having a friendly spar or deciding the fate of the universe. You're suddenly filled with the urge to fight the next person you meet. Cut loose and show off your skills!

1: VERBAL
Not all fights are physical. Maybe you're just really mad and really loud.

2: WUSSY
This is possibly the dumbest limp-wristed flail fight you've ever been involved in.

3: WITS
Because why would you beat someone into the ground when you can humiliate them with your massive intellect instead?

4: PRIZEFIGHT
There's an audience to watch and a prize at stake that only one of you can walk away with. Best bring your A-game.

5: SPARRING
You're fighting to improve. Whether you know your partner or whether you've
just met, you can be pretty sure you're walking away from this one.

6: GRUDGE MATCH
Your hated rival is in town. It's time for a rematch.

7: BAR FIGHT
Welcome to the mother of all drunken brawls.

8: YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS!
Maybe your opponent is your friend/sibling/love/other cherished person. Maybe
you're a pacifist. Either way, you're in this fight, but you really
don't want to be.

9: TO THE DEATH
This is it. Too much has happened for this to be anything but a fight to the end. Only one of you is walking away from this.

10: OBLIGATORY SMUT OPTION
Hate sex is the best. And some people like smut and some do not.

11: AGAINST THE HORDE
It's you and your ally against many. Demons, zombies, whatever. Rip and tear, until it is done.

12: GODMODE
You and your opponent both have world-breaking superpowers, and frankly everyone would be happier if you weren't fighting. You are, though, and it's awesome, even if there might not be much left when you're done.

[ Yenh asks, eyebrows raised at Korra, even as she launches into a completely unnecessary sword trick that would be reckless with a blade other than her blunted practice saber. ]

[ She spins it by the bell guard on two fingers. Without breaking its momentum, she throws it straight up into the air. It has spin on it as it comes back down, but she timed it to be able to reach up and catch it by the handle. Her arm directs the momentum to gracefully bring the blade to the ready position. The sword's focus crystal is a separate part that bobs and floats at Yenh's side via Final Fantasy physics. ]

[She grins at that bravado, rolling her neck from side to side. She finishes stretching, hopping from foot to foot a few last times, before settling into a combat stance.]

[Usually, this close to action, her look would be grim; but with Yenh, it's practice against an unusual opponent, but a friend. No stakes, just learning.]

[And a little bit of competition.]

Dunno. They're not an element, but I guess we'll find out.

[ Yenh gives her a mock frown, but she can't hold it for long. ]

Magic shaped into the elements may still count for something! I am happy that I don't conjure real stones. I'd leave such a mess everywhere.

[ As she speaks, she sweeps her empty hand upward. The focus crystal moves with the motion and dances toward her hand. She gives it a little tap, sending it into a spin. Ribbons of red magic wind into the gem from Yenh's finger, making a sound reminiscent of clockwork winding up. ]

[ Scathach didn't doubt Amaya's strength. Honestly, if there was anything she knew for certain about the woman, it was that she had a warrior's capability. She didn't need the Wisdom of Dun Scaith to perceive her ability... but her potential was another matter.

Scathach was, after all, a league of her own when it came to fighting. The sort of battle lust that inspired songs and stories for ages in her homeland. The sort that earned her the name "God Killer", and set her on a path most would never dare walk, for the consequences it brought.

But she couldn't scratch that immortal itch without a proper opponent. And Amaya... could be that opponent. She hoped, anyways.

A blood red spear was spun behind her, shifting in place to a more defensive stance. Her battle gear might have seemed unusual, lacking in any real armor outside of her pauldrons, but that was less a personal matter and more just... cultural. Celts were just like that.

She gave a nod to Amaya. She was ready to begin. ]

[Capability, assuredly. She'd risen to generalship on the back of skill and determination. To this day, on her birthday, her entire elite regiment was invited to take her on - and none had yet managed to score a hit.]

[She was human, but she'd trained herself and forged herself to a peak. Then there was the tactical side, the strategic. It wasn't just about countering - but anticipating where blows would fall and just...not being there. Do that enough, you got a reputation for reading your opponents' minds - which only enhanced the effect.]

[She waits in her armor, readying her sword and her shield. It's the shield most people miss - it's longer, more pointed than the usual sort - an offensive weapon in itself. Most think of them only in defense, but use it right...]

[And it was a different sort of battlegear, Scathach's, but not unusual to her - she'd met all sorts. Some preferred the speed and the freedom, after all. For some it was also cultural. Some she'd met who liked to fight entirely in the nude.]

[In fairness, some of those were also just a little weird.]

[She nodded back, with a smile. It would be interesting, no matter what]
