The Jail Cell Meme

You are now trapped in a jail cell. You may or may not know why or how you got inside of it; having been teleported into one due to the fickle whims of a resident deity is just as acceptable as getting arrested. (Maybe because of this?) You also might be innocent. If you're innocent and confused then it really sucks to be you.

You have company. Their circumstances might be the same or different from your own. But you're stuck together for a while.

What do you guys do?

Well, maybe it's high time you started, Ed.

[When Terra turned him down, Locke was already running through his other options. (Might actually have a pair of picks sewn into the lining of his jacket but its been so long since he'd actually gotten caught he really can't recall if he'd bothered--)]

[...Oh. Well, alright then. Good man, Setzer. He catches the relic on the fly and turns it over in his hands before leaning through the bars again. Magical artifact reduced to makeshift lockpick. But needs must and all.]

There we go. Someone keep an eye on the door.

[Can't have one of their captors walking in while he works on getting them out.]

Edgar? You look like you could use a distraction. Why don't you keep watch?

[The icon being obviously inaccurate and egregiously misleading because...oh yeah. No cards. None. Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch.]

[As soon as Locke began to work on the... er, lock... Terra perked up. If anyone could get them out of here, it was him.]

Hurry, Locke. Before they come back...!

Very well.

[Distraction's good. It'll keep him from thinking homicidal thoughts, from launching into fits of despair, from -- well, it'll keep him busy, at least. With a grumble, he ups and heads over to the opposite end of the bars from where Locke's working.]

As long as I'm not a patsy in case the guards are alerted to our attempts here...

[Locke eyes Edgar sidelong at that and snorts.]

As fine a patsy as you'd make, I doubt we'll need one.

[And back to picking the lock. This would be quicker if he had his real tools.]

We're just lucky they don't seem to have recognized you yet.

[The remnants of an enemy force having the King of Figaro in custody did complicate things.]

[personal profile] temptsfate 2013-01-20 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
Lucky? Not really. Given that the soldiers here seem to have missed the ending of the war I doubt they'd be capable of recognizing him. [And he tosses the dice. They're hardly his cards but in the unlikely yet theoretical event that guards attack Locke or something he...supposes he could try chucking them.]
edgar_roni: (eh?)

w/e fuck the police

[Setzer's got a point, though. At least, one that Edgar's more inclined to agree with than Locke's own. Besides, if no one but the Returners could recognize Gerad for who he really was, then Edgar's got nothin' to worry about.

Except maybe the approach of footsteps from down the hall.]

Locke.

[He cranes his neck as far as he can, all but sticking his head out between the bars, to peer down that way.]

You might want to hurry that up.
