Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... Depending how you want to play it, Vincent is either extremely reluctant (arm is monsterous) - or unable (arm is amputated and the gauntlet is a prosthetic) - to remove his gauntlet, so he'll need some help to properly wash (and dry) his hair? (or his arm can be completely normal, if you'd prefer, but he still might need a bit of help anyway (lol)]

[They've opted to do this for him first, their fingers skillfully combing through the strands without pulling and carefully adorning them with a mild soap. It's gently fragrant, and they silently delight in the feel of the strands slipping between their fingers.]

You keep it well, [they comment, voice soft and warm and pointedly between the binary of male and female. Given the fact that their body also has distinctly masculine and feminine traits, this isn't surprising. And they don't really have any problems with their breasts on display like this.]

[This was one of those times Sylvain really, really wished he could just slip through the monastery unnoticed. But that... wasn't really possible. He was not, overall, a very stealthy person and like this? Well there was no saving his pride. So he had to play it off, laugh, pretend it was all just good fun, nothing to see and no hard feelings.

Hard to do with egg goop dripping from his hair and shoulders and face, plucking bits of broken shell off his face as it dried, trying his damnedest not to touch anything lest he spread the mess even further. It's not like it was his fault. How was he supposed to just know that they were sisters? They didn't look anything alike!!

A sharp hiss as another glob of yolk dripped from his bangs onto his cheek which was split open with a few ragged scratches. Pretty sure the younger sister had wanted to claw his eyes out. Lucky him.

If he could just duck inside the bathhouse so he could get cleaned up then he could worry about damage control. He just had to pray no one was around to witness his suffering. Especially when the facade was getting more and more difficult to maintain.]

It was easy to horse around in the cold ponds of Cloud Recesses when they were younger, but there was a very different feeling, now, with a title like Head Cultivator hanging between them. Even so, returning to Gusu after his travels feels like coming home, and he's determined to hold onto that feeling, at least until Lan Zhan gets sick of his hanging around during meetings, borrowing the extra bed in his jingshi, occasionally mentoring the juniors when no one is looking, or trying to sneak extra spices into the kitchens to liven up the meals.

It's at least a few days after his return that there's even a moment or two of quiet, and okay, he knows Lan Zhan could probably use the break, even from him, but Sizhui had pointed out that he was in the cold pond, and it wasn't like it was the first time he'd made himself a bother there.

He skips down the winding stone steps, and while he's not quite so reckless as to toss his boots and clothing across the water, he is getting quite a messy pile as he starts to undress.

[Catra kind of thought that the showering experience was a universal thing. What else could a shower be, if not frigidly cold lashings of water beating on your aching body, weighing your fur down and freezing you through to the bone?

Turns out in Bright Moon, a 'shower' is sometimes a 'bath', which had prickled at the back of Catra's neck with even greater dread when she'd heard it. The only thing worse than standing in water is sitting in it, and for a good moment there she'd honestly considered just -- shaving herself off entirely, and then using a few cloths to scrub her skin clean of the grime and goo and grossness clinging to it in the aftermath of Prime's defeat.

But she hadn't, clearly. And now she's leaning over the bathtub, her clawed hands gripping onto the curved edge, frowning down at the heavily fragranced water with total bemusement. Her ears are drawn all the way back, her tail lashes uncomfortably, and it's just--

--it's so not what she was bracing herself for.]

Why's it look like that? [To anyone else, she probably looks angry; especially when she leans down a little to sniff at the water, and rears back with a confused scowl. There are mounds of white bubbles coating the surface of the water, and she's certain that it can't be safe to just. Stick your body parts in there. But that's what they're about to do, apparently.] --What did they put in this thing?

Lan Wangji had a bit of a record, when it came to wooden tubs. It wasn't that they weren't capable of bathing separately, or even sometimes bathing together without incident, but once you started needing two hands to count how many tubs had broken, it was only responsible to plan ahead.

Luckily, the inn they'd chosen to stay at had ample bathing, being near a natural hot spring, and they didn't have to drag a clunky tub around their room. The tub came built-in, a lot more spacious, and breaking this, Wei Wuxian thought, would take an awful lot of intentional effort.

Getting out of his dusty clothes took a lot less time for him than Lan Zhan and his many layers, and he was already waiting, peering up over the edge of the tub, kicking his bare feet impatiently in the hot water.

"Lan Zhan! You have to see these tubs, you think we could get some like this in Gusu?"
