[Cassian held his wine glass out of Rogue's reach (hopefully) as he easily accepted the kiss and returned it in kind. It was easy to forget the pain that he was in when he was being treated like he was so precious and so adored.
All the better was that he knew that Ben genuinely felt those things.
He kept still as Ben gently laid his hand against his chest, right above his heart, and was more than content in allowing his partner to feel his heartbeat beneath his fingertips steady and strong.]
[He just smiled at that and shifted to sit back against the couch, a bit closer to Cassian. Ben didn't want to put any pressure on his injured rib. He just wanted to love this man eternally.
Ben moved and grabbed his wine glass, before taking Cassian's free hand and twining their fingers together with a smile. He squeezed gently.]
Do you want to go visit your parents for Christmas?
[Cassian wished that he wasn't in so much pain. He wished that he could just get close to Ben without having to consider his every movement to do so. But his rib would heal quickly enough since the break wasn't a bad one, and he'd be good as new in no time.
But he was content enough in the moment just to sit and hold hands and play with the new additions to their little family. It was perfect in a way that Cassian had never anticipated finding for himself. And God only knew the lengths to which Cassian would go to keep Ben - and this - to himself for as long as possible.]
Yeah. Yeah, I would like that. [Cassian replied, pausing thoughtfully.] You'd be coming too, right?
[Cassian frowned slightly, his lips pressing together into a thin line. The last thing he wanted was for Ben to think that he thought of him as ... unable to care for himself. But Cassian had the savings (and the old family money) to pay the trip with no problems.
How to suggest that without making Ben feel somehow inferior? That was the hardest part. By no means was he Cassian's kept man or anything of the sort. But Cassian did want to be able to help in any way possible should Ben need it.
Cassian took a breath and shrugged.]
I could take care of it. You know, make it kind of a present for the both of us?
[Ben didn't want anyone to think that he was taking advantage of Cassian, or using him for his money. He knew his partner knew the truth. But he wanted the man's family to like him, not think he was a golddigger or anything of the like.
He sighed and leaned against Cassian, carefully of course. He closed his eyes for a moment, just thinking.
A gift to both of them. That would be a good idea. But he still wanted to get Cassian something...]
That could work. I just don't want you stretching yourself thin.
[Cassian knew the truth of Ben's heart. They had met and just known that this was it, they'd met their person, the person they were meant to spend the rest of their lives with.
He knew what it might have looked like to outside observers, that it looked like it had happened in a whirlwind, that maybe he and Ben were in the midst of a 'honeymoon' period and had rushed into their relationship a little too fast. But he knew what they felt for each other was real and true.
And ... Cassian also knew that he needed to be completely honest with Ben about everything ... including his family's wealth.
Ben leaned against him - gently, and Cassian sighed softly in response, quiet for a moment, just thinking. He offered a gentle squeeze to Ben's fingers, gathering the courage.]
That's sweet of you. But ... you don't really have to worry about me like that, you know? My savings is pretty robust.
[Ben pulled away a bit and looked at his partner. He was quiet. He reached out and cupped his cheek. They were comfortable, they both just knew. He leaned in and kissed him softly. He pressed their brows together, taking comfort in this man.]
It doesn't matter to me. I love you, not your money or anything like that. I just want to be happy with you.
[He then pulled away and smiled at him. Ben then nodded slightly, he understood, he would let Cassian help.]
[Cassian only felt like he could breathe again once he felt the gentle pressure of Ben's fingertips against his cheek, the reassuring kiss, how Ben kept close even in the aftermath, just allowing them both the space and time to breathe together.]
I know. And I feel exactly the same. I guess I just wanted you to know that - that ... you don't have to worry about anything, okay?
[The I want to help. If you need it, please let me help part went unsaid. But Cassian knew that Ben knew what he meant regardless.]
[Cassian's attention was stolen by the kittens' antics as well, and he huffed out a chuckle to watch the little brother and sister tangle with each other.
The smaller calico might not have been as gregarious as her bigger brother, but Cassian thought that given a little time, she would grow into her own soon enough. Maybe they just needed to feel safe and secure in the knowledge that they were home.]

[Ben probably could if he picked the cheapest fare, budgeted correctly. He could make it work.
He didn't say anything as he pulled Kylo off his shoulder to pet the small kitten, scritching under his chin. Things were good. Wonderful.]

[Ben added, indicated he was agreeing to the unspoken request. He then smiled at Cassian.
The serious mood was broken by Kylo leaping out of Ben's hands to tackle Rouge.
He couldn't help but laugh at that. The little black kitten was certainly more adventurous than the calico.]
