"...you asked me out.." Spot repeats, dazed.

He asked Spot out. All those touches have been deliberate. He's been flirting with him.

"Jesus christ..." he breathes.

"Fuck. No. I mean yes. I mean no, I do not want you to stop flirting with me, yes I am interested, I just didn't. I didn't realise that's what you were doing."

Marcus laughs and pulls a knee to his chest making the bench swing a little, he balances his chin on it looking very pleased and maybe a little smug. "Okay, I won't stop, maybe I should have been a little more, I dunno I haven't dated for a while." He shrugs and laughs again.

Spot loves his laugh, and from anybody else he might feel like Marcus was laughing at him, but it doesn't feel like that from him, somehow.

"Look I ain't... I ain't dated ever." he admits, worried that his total lack of experience might put Marcus off.

"I wouldn't call one boyfriend dating." He snorts shrugging a little. "Hey, you can actually go on Hogsmeads trips with me now." He smiles, "Where everyone goes on their dates during the school term." He says. "Not going to that stupid tea shop though." He says amused. "Wanna get another beer? See if the burgers are editable?"

Spot stares at him for a long moment, trying to puzzle through his words and not being able to make sense of them, the thought of actually getting to go to Hogsmeade is nice, sure, and going with Marcus would be even nicer, but is that his way of asking for a date? Are they dating now? He's never done any of this before and he doesn't know how it works and Marcus is not as obvious as he thinks he is, in Spot's opinion.

So he just nods a little awkwardly, and then drains the last of his beer and stands up.

"Sure let's go get something to eat."

Marcus puts the empty in the trash and grabs another beer and plats up some food on his plate.

It's nice the food, the drink, and friends, Marcus ends up with a good buzz and laid out in the grass watching the sky slowly change colors. Picking at a bar of chocolate.

Spot follows Marcus mostly, though at one point he gets drawn - without meaning to - into an impromptu tactics discussion with Cedric after letting slip he had a new broom now, and somewhere along the line he ends up talking to Oliver about the Bats game they went to see, so it's been maybe half an hour or more since he last saw Marcus.

By this point he's about four beers in and is just slightly more than buzzed, so when he spots Marcus lying on the grass with nobody else in the immediate vicinity, he saunters over and drops down next to him.

"Hey you." he says, tone a little accusing.

"Hey." He smiles at Sean, "Look at you making friends and socializing." He teases warmly. "Feel like it's gonna be a good school year." He says stretching out in the grass a little more. Even if he missed his mom and kept having thoughts about all the shit he wouldn't have anyone around for now.

"Shut up." Spot tells him seriously, a tiny bit harsher than he means to. He leans over Marcus, holding himself up with a hand either side of Marcus' head, and stares down at him for a second.

"You don't make sense," he tells him, that buzz giving him just enough confidence to actually give voice to some of the thoughts swirling about in his brain "You think you're being obvious but you're not and I don't get what's going on. So you need to just- oh to hell with it."

He leans down and presses his lips against Marcus'

Marcus laughs warm and easy but kisses Sean back his hand moving so his fingers could card through the hair on the back of Sean's head. It's nice, really nice. When the kiss breaks he smiles raising his eyebrows at Sean. "I don't make sense? I asked you out, asked you to go to Hogsmead, asked you to go to the game just you and me, asked you to go to the game with me and my friends, and asked you to come flying just the two of us..." He ticks off, before sitting up on his elbows and kissing Sean.

Spot's more than happy to kiss him again, even if he did just point out all the 8000 times Marcus was apparently trying to date him and Spot was utterly oblivious to it.

"Marcus," he says seriously, holding the other boy's face in his hands "I have never dated before," he kisses him again, just because he can, because that he understands, because it's nice "I have kissed someone three times in my life. You. Just now. I realise you thought you were being obvious but I am telling you right now, you were not being obvious enough."

"Okay." Marcus shrugs, Kissing him again, "Well that's all done now, think kissing you back is obvious enough." He laughs a little shaking his head. "Just admit you realize now, we've already gone on our first date." He teases laying back again folding arms under his head. "We can go to the first Hogsmead weekend." He muses happily.

Spot just sighs in frustration, but he doesn't look that annoyed. As Marcus lays back down he turns to lay down himself, using Marcus' chest as a pillow and staring up at the sky.

"Nah I refuse to allow my first date to be a date I didn't even realise I was on," he announces "Maybe I'll let you take me out to Hogsmeade, if you ask nicely." he adds with a smirk.

"I don't beg, and saying maybe you'll say yes just makes me think you don't actually want to date me." He teases pulling one hand out from under his head and putting an arm around Sean's middle, enjoying the closeness. "You'll like The Three Broom Sticks." He says fingers playing with the hem of Sean's shirt.

"Way to make a boy feel wanted," Spot rolls his eyes "If you ain't even willing to put the effort in. You're just lucky you're so pretty."

It was nice, lying here, just enjoying being so close to Marcus, the reassuring weight of his arm around him, he's pretty sure that if he turned his head he'd be able to hear Marcus' heartbeat.

"What's so great about the three broomsticks?"

"Food, butterbeer, friends." He smiles, "it's away from the school, teachers hardly ever go there." He adds easily, "You'll get to go to Zonkos, and Honeydukes finally." He adds with a yawn, the day of sun, beer, and good food butting into a relaxed and sleepy state.

"I do like butterbeer," Spot concedes. He trails his fingers over Marcus' arm idly.

"Honeydukes is the sweet shop, right?" His tone is casual, like he's just checking, but in truth he's pretty sure he's right and he's been dying to go there, he just won't admit it.

"Yeah, that's the sweet shop." He nods closing his eyes for a moment, "Get all kinds of stuff there." He muses, "I like the sugar quills and the chocolate. Wanna stay here or go sit by the fire with everyone before they start heading home?"

"Sugar quills sound good," Spot says with a faint smile.

"We can go over if you want..." he says a little reluctantly, he'd rather just stay here and enjoy being with Marcus and not have to face everybody else, but these people are all Marcus' friends, they probably want socialise with him and vice versa

When they get up Marcus laces his fingers through Sean's as they walk to the fire pit. When they sit down Marcus puts his arm around Spot's shoulder's as the chatter picks back up, there is some soft ribbing toward the couples. But soon fades into talk about the upcoming school year.

Spot has to fight back his smile as they walk back hand in hand, and yea he could get used to that. It's nice being able to touch someone else, being able to lean close as Marcus puts his arm around him, to lean his head against Marcus' shoulder without even really thinking about it. It's nice and it's comfortable and he likes it.

So when the ribbing comes, it's actually a pretty cheerful 'fuck you' that Spot responds with.

He mostly doesn't get involved in the conversation, though he throws in the occasional comment, he's content to just sit with Marcus and enjoy what it feels liket to actually, maybe belong somewhere.

Marcus smiles and after awhile people help clean up and start heading home. Marcus stretches yawning arms above his head, while Percy neurotically makes sure the fire is out. "That was fun." He says rubbing a hand over his face. "Between laying in the grass, the fire, and just dicking around, I need a shower." He laughs.

"Yea, you stink." Spot teases, nudging him with a shoulder and trying not to think about Marcus in the shower.

He is not successful. It's a good thought.

Just like thinking about staying over tonight, because most people seem to be heading home, and with Oliver and Percy obviously wanting to get their own alone time together, that means he's probably going to get a chance to spend more time with Marcus, just the two of them.

"Not as bad as you." Marcus retorts, they've finished cleaning as much as they can, they'll finish up in the morning, not that there's much left to do. "You staying?" Marcus asks as they head back inside, smiling a little.

"Fuck you I smell great." Spot shoots back, there's no heat in it at all.

"Yea, if that's okay?" he asks, tone casual but suddenly nervous that maybe Marcus doesn't want him there.
