THE WALKED INTO A BAR MEME

"A guy walks into a bar..."
We all know how it starts, but what happens after that? That's completely up to you. This is a 'Start your own scenario' type of meme. Start along with the regular:

Post your character's name, canon, preferences

Set up a scenario

Pretty simple, right? That's because it is. Pick a time frame, if you'd like. Pick a specific city. Pick a specific planet. Want to hang out in The Titty Twister, go right ahead. Mos Eisley Cantina a bit more your speed? Then take a left at the second star and go straight on until morning. Slip in an underage character and sneak around trying to scam drinks. See if someone comes and tosses you out. Try to pick up the hottie at the bar -- or slip something into their drink when they're not looking. Maybe you're the bartender and you're feeling a little chatty while you pour. The possibilities are endless and they all start with someone opening a door and coming in.

Sometimes bars were nice places to be. She could enjoy the buzz of people getting drunk around her and the general relaxing without having her team hovering. She really didn't know where she was and she didn't care overly much; a dark corner table in a bar was a dark corner table in a bar anywhere one went really.

Rachel had her feet kicked up o the third chair around her little scrap of a table but that left the one across from her open to the curious and the strange.

I have no idea what I'm doing with this.

She certainly would find a dark corner in this non descript bar, though if it was quiet she was after she wouldn't get it. At least at first. For the past hour the band, squashed into a ridiculously small space in the corner, would treat the patrons to a very loud and racous playlist. There probably wasn't an original song on the list, but all executed very well and very loud.

What might seem odd, if she cared to pay any attention, was that the lead guitarist and singer stayed out of the poor excuse of a spotlight for the entire set. Finally they ended their set on this song. Casually hanging his guitar on a stand, he'd jump off the stage and wander over to the bar.

Because really, beer is proof that their is a god and that it loves us very much.

Plus he was thirsty.

[ Well of course she expects full service from the bar as their honored guest, but the arrangement between her and this bar is to their mutual benefit. Someone like her would attract customers for them, and a chance to drink with one such as her would attract followers who like the idea of a more social god. ]

He had once drunk such beverages, but that was long ago, when he slipped into the despair he called his life. The Contractor wasn't fully past that, but he could cope better than wasting his life at a simple bar. Giving information about someone he hated and wanted to help bring down? He was no hero, but that was something he could do with no problems.

Spotting her a few few away, he went towards her, taking a seat next to her. The role of informant was not one he was fully used to playing, but meetings like this were simple. He motioned for the bartender to give him a glass of water as well, and then glanced at Lara.]

He steps up to the bar itself, lifting a hand to call over the bartender. Apparently at the man's leisure. Sylar purses his lips slightly and glances down to the man seated beside where he stands.]

[He's too young to be in this club, and it shows. But he's got all the swag to cover up for it, walking with his head high and his shoulders squared, all the way up to the bar to order a drink. And he gets one.

Is anyone going to question the short, babyfaced mutant who's currently sitting at the bar, sippping a rum and coke, about his right to be here? It's not advisable. He's got a lighter in his pocket, and he's not above starting the most explosive bar fight this city has ever seen if someone gets in his face.

She wasn't sure why she was there. Maybe it had something to do with the way she was constantly called a goody two shoes and a good girl. Or perhaps it was the fact that when the topic of going to a bar came up, the idea that Kitty would like to go to had been laughable.

Getting in was easy; there weren't a lot of places that could keep you out when walls weren't an issue for you. She'd ordered a lemonade -fighting to keep the surprised look off her face when the bartender didn't even look at her twice- and proceeded to wander aimlessly.

Really, bars weren't that great.

And that was when she spotted him, standing by the bar. She didn't even hesitate to approach him. "Fancy seeing you here."

[Considering his history with bars and the people that tend to dwell in them as well as his own personal code of ethics, it's perhaps a bit unseemly for someone like Piers to trudge into one. [Eh, drinking and crawling from one tavern to the next wasn't exactly Richter's ideal way of passing the time, but he figured a few drinks once in a while wouldn't hurt. Except he may have misjudged his limits there and sampled too much wine.

His head, swimmy from too much alcohol, was dangerously close to slamming forward into the table in front of him; his body, swaying in place from the control slipping away from him, was about ready to topple over backwards. Any bets on which way he'd wind up?]

[ Kíli is in high spirits as they make their way to the bar. Of course, like other dwarves, he's fond of good food and good drink. That he actually gets to accompany his uncle to such a place only increases his cheer.

Forgetting himself, he slings an arm around Thorin's shoulders. He has to practically jump to do it, considering their difference in height, but he manages. Ah, the enthusiasm of youth. ]

[ No height jokes here; he lives within the Hanged Man. Sort of like a local celebrity; the last scion of the House of Tethras, blah blah blah, he writes adventure packed tales and smutty romance novels that are larger than life and sell like hotcakes. ]

[ Maybe he's here to kick the mud off his shoes, pull up a seat, and people watch -- or pen his latest tale. Either way, he's going to need beer. Time to get some. ]

[ Fenris spends much of his time brooding alone, but tonight, he's decided to go do it in a public place. Mostly for the feeling that alcohol will bring. The Hanged Man is safe enough, and if it isn't, he can escape it quickly, he knows.

So he makes his way there, and finds a back corner table. He can see most of the bar from there, and should be aware if he needs to make a quick exit. He's just glad the table was unoccupied.

The one next to it, however, is not, as he soon sees; though, Varric is...if not quite a friend, at least an acquaintance. As the dwarf returns to his table, Fenris raises a hand in greeting. ]
