Train to the After Life

maybe you know how, maybe you don't. perhaps the memory is fuzzy, or perhaps it's crystal clear down to the look in your comrades' eyes. maybe it was your time; you've done all you wanted to. or maybe you weren't at all ready to go, maybe you went out kicking and screaming -- but none of it matters. you know you're dead, and the train is taking you to an afterlife. perhaps an afterlife of your choice; you might've earned that heaven. or perhaps you've earned something else entirely. it'll be a bit of a journey, though, so you might as well take your time and talk to the other people in your coach. death knows no place: most of them are strangers, even from faraway worlds. but death knows no time either, so who knows, some of them may be people you know, even if last you knew, they were alive -- or long gone. oh look, here comes the snack cart.

(ooc: Haaa... Have some crack. I mean, they know each other, right? Sorry I've been AWOL this week - I've been working and it takes a lot out of me.)

"Huh." Honestly, it was the last person he expected to see when he walked into the carriage: Himself. He paused and then took a seat.

"I guess we both bought it then?" He leaned forward, elbows on his knees, hands clasped in front of him. "You are MK I, right? That's the only way this makes sense."

Dr Strange had said there was a 1 in 14,000,605 chance of beating Thanos. Were they the only two universes that tried?

"Looks that way. You're MKII. Even two of us couldn't survive Thanos and his power."

Tony was disappointed and frankly sad. They were both dead and obviously Thanos had won and destroyed the world they knew. Was everyone now dead? It probably seemed that way and there was nothing either of them could do about it. The cold reality of death seeped into Tony's veins filling him with dread.

"Hey, on the bright side? We have each other to talk to into eternity. Whoever said talking to yourself was bad?"

He forced a chuckle and then frowned deeply. Was this really death? Were they in some sort of afterlife? Because they were on some kind of train going who knows where. Was any of this real? Perhaps, this was some weird dream state right after death.
