maybe you know how, maybe you don't. perhaps the memory is fuzzy, or perhaps it's crystal clear down to the look in your comrades' eyes. maybe it was your time; you've done all you wanted to. or maybe you weren't at all ready to go, maybe you went out kicking and screaming -- but none of it matters. you know you're dead, and the train is taking you to an afterlife. perhaps an afterlife of your choice; you might've earned that heaven. or perhaps you've earned something else entirely. it'll be a bit of a journey, though, so you might as well take your time and talk to the other people in your coach. death knows no place: most of them are strangers, even from faraway worlds. but death knows no time either, so who knows, some of them may be people you know, even if last you knew, they were alive -- or long gone. oh look, here comes the snack cart.

[ given what he knows about stark - his chosen lifestyle, his enemies, his diet - hades doesn't know if a few decades wouldn't been accurate. maybe the fates would know, but it's a moot point. ]

Can't get more many than the entire Universe. A story for the ages. Hence - [ he nudges stark's glass an inch closer to him. ] The drink.

[ hades normally wouldn't do a personal visit like this. hell, he's not normally on the train, but given the chaos of the last few years, it's been all hands on deck. (or spectral tracks). still, he's curious to meet stark himself. ]

[ And just because he's been doing better, living better, cleaning up his act- it doesn't mean he's wanted scotch, good scotch any less. He takes the glass and lifts it in a casual salute, sipping idly. ]

[ he shrugs. might make a difference, might not; it's all up to him. ]

Yes. Congratulations, Stark - in a few hours, you'll be a citizen of the Underworld. [ he lifts his own glass, wordlessly toasts, and takes a sip. ] See everyone again, probably.

[ As an atheist he is stymied but as an endlessly curious individual? He's fascinated. ]

[ it's not what most people think it is - one place for punishment, another for reward. thanos thought he was being fair, supposedly leaving his genocide up to chance. but hades is fair, perfectly so. ]

That has got to be hell on paperwork. [ He grimaces, almost apologetic. Almost. ] I wasn't sure if the whole 'soul for a soul' thing wit the infinity stones meant she was dead or- stick in it. Forever.

[ Guess he's going hunting a soon as they pull up. ]

[ it earns stark a laugh - earnest and honestly delighted. ] See? I knew that you'd get it. [ it's a whole organization system. color-coded. he's very proud of it. ]

That other one - Gamora? - she showed up a bit ago. Might be some doing to get out of the stone.

If there's one thing I understand it's inventory wandering off when and where it shouldn't.

[ He raises a glass, smile soft and self-depreciating. ]

Suppose I have all the time in the universe now so if you want an assistant I can probably whip something up for you.

[ while dodging some people, meeting others, and hunting down others still. Talk about a busy afterlife. ]
