![]() "FAKE" FAKE DATING MEME Whether you're trying to make someone else jealous, trying to save a stranger from a creep on the subway, doing a spy mission, running a con, trying to get your parents off your back about being single at a holiday dinner, or any number of other reasons, fake relationships are a hugely popular trope. From there, the hook that sinks downward is that the best laid plans go awry; what started off as pretend turns all too real. Of course, that'd never happen to you, right? |

...unfortunately, this has caused some slight complications. ]
While I'm sorry your plan hasn't entirely worked for removing attention from you, I can't entirely regret that. I've never had a fanclub before.
[ because what else would happen when you put two attractive flirts very visibly together?
and of course, he doesn't actually "sound" sorry at all. he certainly doesn't look it, having stolen every soft thing present in the inn room they're currently staying in to sprawl out on. ]

Not that he has any qualms about being reminded what a beautiful man he is at any given moment, but everything else started grating on his nerves.
So, he thought, a temporary partner is in order. Someone who won't make the arrangement too personal, but also won't be such a bore as to make the whole thing unbearable. Not to mention someone city officials won't see every day and harass once it comes to an end. Lucky really was the perfect choice. ]
There won't be polite platitudes once this is over, there will be outright mourning. [ ...Or so Waka thought.
There's a theatrical sigh as he finally lets his hair down for the evening, plopping himself down in front of a mirror. (Without a mat for cushioning, now.) ]
I should have known better, really. Suppose I've been relying too much on finicky visions as of late.

[ his tone is slyly amused as he watches Waka settle and squints his eyes shut, rolling over onto his back to ostentatiously stretch his hind legs out... and then gets up to come over and flop into a loose curve a little bit off to his side, directly on the floor. why did he even take all the cushions. ]
It does seem unwise to rely on them for the more day-to-day decisions... but I am no prophet, of course. Even a cat's wisdom doesn't extend to accounting for oracles.

[ Lucky gets a wry look when he leaves the comfort of the pillow pile, that exact question running through Waka's head whether he says it or not. Which he doesn't, not for now, instead getting on with finding his comb. ]
Though I don't need a vision to know they'll all be after you first.

I am rather striking, no matter what appearance I take.

That you are. And you've the added mystique of being a stranger here. Aristocrats love nothing more than fuel for gossip, and your mere existence has offered quite the kindling.
