[Lio can't remember the last time he fed. Not on anything more substantial than animal blood. It's edible, but... well, it's like a human trying to subsist on only pixy sticks. There's so little nutritional value that it's impossible to sustain for long. He's starting to feel the cold reality of that now.

Lio's curled on the ground in the dark recesses of an alley he can't recall the name of. He doesn't have enough energy to glamour a human, if he wanted to-- and even if he did, part of Lio wonders if he'd even have enough strength to get his fangs into someone deep enough to feed. On top of that, he'd have to keep them quiet, and leave no trace of his presence behind...

He's beginning to think he might see his last night tucked between these dumpsters.

Things used to be different for Lio. He had a clan, the closest thing to a family he's ever known. And a code never to hurt others. And still, they found themselves being picked off slowly but surely by...

Something bright flashes at him, and Lio slowly looks up to see a figure hovering a few feet away down the alley, carrying a flashlight balanced above a stake gun. A hunter. Lio's pupils slit, but he manages to look past the light to the face of the man carrying it. This isn't Lio's first run-in with him.

They've clashed two or three times prior to now, and Lio has escaped each one of them after a drawn-out chase and scuffle that left his recently-consumed blood pounding in his veins. Lio was in okay shape, those other times. Now, he can barely push himself up to lean, seated, against the wall behind him. When the hunter takes a step forward, Lio bares his fangs at him. Even he knows how fruitless the endeavor is, and closes his mouth back up.

A hungry vampire is intimidating. A starving one? Not so much.]

Just... get it over with, already.

[Lio lifts his chin, both an act of defiance and revealing his chest for a clean shot. If Lio can't fight, he'd like to at least die with his pride intact.]
