Maybe people just figure hundreds of years of practice at love making makes vampires really, really good at it. On the other hand, tThe bloodsucking may be a great fetish source, something about a quick sting of pain followed by pleasure. When a vampire is hungry and isn't quite so decent or hard up as to lower himself to only buying blood at the butcher's or trapping and draining small animals instead, their dietary supplement of preference is human blood. ((ooc: I am intrigued by your character. Would it be ok for you if this was mostly gen oriented, or if Maggie had one-sided feelings for my character, Velvet? I tend to play her in M/F ships but she won't have problems hugging or kissing women, especailly if she's a little drunk and swept away by the moment.

Mostly she would be an unwilling victim, but depending on how this goes, she might end up liking it. My PB actually played a vampire in some of her movies but I haven't seen them.

I usually tag about once a day. I prefer prose but I can at least switch to present tense, if you like that better.))


New nightclubs popped up in San Francisco all the time and Velvet was always eager to visit them at least once. Tonight, this particular club had a special vampire theme going and some people were dressed accordingly. She didn't care for anything too costumey, so she'd chosen a dark violet dress; sleeveless and with a low V-back.

One of her favourite drinks was a Bloody Mary and here those were served in huge crystal glasses. As she looked over the brim of the glass, her eyes noticed a dark-haired woman looking at her. Something about that woman made her feel like she was her mirror image, although in truth they weren't that similar, except on superficial level.

Velvet smiled briefly at her but then her own attention was back on watching people on the dance floor.

The Yiling Patriarch remembered nothing beyond a few months ago.

His fellow vampires had found him when he had stumbled into their nest. Cultivator, they said of the person he had been before. Hunter. They'd changed him, awoken him, and his previous life had fallen away like a broken shell.

He kept the dark robes, which suited him by night, and the flute that commanded armies of the undead. He kept, also, the gold wedding ring on his finger, though he did not know what it meant. He liked it.

Even without memories, without a name, the vampire-cultivator had taken command of his little pack, and raised corpses to protect them. Their haven on Burial Mounds was remote and abandoned, and the Yiling Patriarch roamed far from his nest in order to feed.

In the middle of the night, as he roamed a town looking for prey, he saw a figure in white robes at the opposite end of the street. There was something about that figure that seemed so familiar, though he didn't know why. Spinning his flute, he strolled over to investigate, planning to make the man into prey if he got bored of the conversation.
