Ririchiyo-sama's words echoed somewhere in the darkness as regret slipped away. There was no way to determine just how long time had stretched on before he woke again. He'd been killed, he was sure of that much, and whatever the cycle of reincarnation might provide him next, at least for now, he could still remember this Miketsukami Soushi. They were no one's memories but his own. He could remember the wolf's curse, a pang of despair at his own failure, and a vow to be sure Ririchiyo-sama would never be hurt, not by his hands. It was more than he could have wished for; most weren't so lucky as to die in the arms of their beloved, last words spoken, the touch of her soft cheek on his palm. He could only hope that the others at Ayakashi might help protect her in his absence, or, he thought selfishly, that she might follow him soon.

He couldn't have anticipated what awaited him; it felt like a dream. The familiar halls of Ayakashi lay before him, quiet and empty and he couldn't help but feel as though something was off, as though time had passed and left him behind.

The gods had some strange sense of humor indeed to put this before him. Soushi ran his pale fingers over his neck, but not so much as a scar remained of his bloody encounter with the wolf demon. It didn't make sense. As his hand dropped to his chest, mismatched eyes glanced over unblemished skin. Nothing. The curse was gone too.

Ririchiyo-sama.

He hurried his steps, following the familiar route to her room, the guise of the Kyubi falling away into his uniform in a flurry of sakura petals. He didn't wait for the elevator, taking the stairs two at a time in his rush. When he finally reached her room, his breath came in quick puffs and he barely composed himself enough to knock twice, politely, a sense of urgency in the sound, before reaching for the doorknob.

But O decided that Lucy has grown up as much as O has, and that she wouldn't do that to O again. When she saw the guy, had realized how glad she was to trust in those instincts like she had on this night.

O sat at the table in the coffee house with a smile on her face. O had dressed to the nines in a silk dress in purples, pinks, blues and a little white and yellows. They all swirled down around her stomach and came to a sweeping rest of color down by her feet. Her hair was pulled up into a french twist, and she had these long, blue and purple gem chandelier earrings on. Even if the date was a bust, she'd want them to remember her.]
