Nothing says Halloween like making yourself sick to your stomach - but whether that's with cold creeping dread, the reek of blood and guts, or just too many mini Snickers bars depends on the individual.

For that reason, we invite you to pick your own poison:

It is if we want to blend in, and from what I understand going without a proper costume would be an insult to the hosts. Or at least to the person who secured the invites for me.

And while I try to find my witness you might even have fun. I’ve been told that a ‘Spooky Buffet’ is being provided.

[Watts was more than a little excited about this investigation, it was undercover at a Halloween party. Halloween parties either meant good food or copious amounts of sweets. Plus it was a fun excuse to dress up, and he’d had some help to work out a decent ‘disguise’ in the spirit of the event.

Given that his backup had an emergency and needed to cancel, he didn’t see why the second invite should go to waste. It wasn’t dangerous, and there would be other people in-the-know there as it was.

Sure, the constable and his wife who had secured their invitations weren’t the most reliable sorts of people, but it still counted for something.

So he’s spent a few minutes texting in an attempt to tempt her to join in on the event.]

Ghostly Angst Option: Hallward stirred in his chair as if he was going to rise. He rushed at him and dug the knife into the great vein that is behind the ear, crushing the man's head down on the table and stabbing again and again.
There was a stifled groan and the horrible sound of some one choking with blood. Three times the outstretched arms shot up convulsively, waving grotesque, stiff-fingered hands in the air. He stabbed him twice more, but the man did not move. That doesn't change the fact that I have nothing to wear- I haven't worn a Halloween costume since I was eight.

[ It's a lame excuse, but it isn't incorrect either. Though that doesn't mean she's not willing to improvise; she does enjoy Halloween a lot, and it'd be fun to actually have something to do to celebrate it. Not that her usual 'takeout and horror movies until the wee hours' tradition wasn't enjoyable, but changing things up a little couldn't hurt. ]

I will admit I haven’t had a reason to dress up for a long time myself, but this is an excellent opportunity to change that.

[Usually he was working on the holiday, since it tended to be a crazy night. Halloween tended to be an all hands on deck sort of situation.

Sure, he was still technically working this time; but it was far different from helping out officers with all the out of hand mischief and drunk people in costumes. The most Halloween-like activity he had time for was usually falling asleep on his sofa after hours with what ever classic horror movie marathon was on television.]

Well I was going to go as Sherlock Holmes, but I was informed by a colleague that it would be rather ‘on the nose’ for the occasion. So in the spirit of doing something different for the holiday, I will be donning the guise of the gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin.

[Of course Llewellyn would choose to dress up as a figure from a work of fiction, over something generic if given the choice. It was even less surprising that his decision was still something that fit a certain aesthetic given how tidy he liked to keep his appearance.]

Excellent! It starts sometime later in the evening, so if it’s convenient perhaps we could meet at the address around 10?

[It gave them a little more time to prepare, and as much as he liked the idea of being punctual it would probably be better to show up after the party had gotten underway. A moment or two later, almost as an after thought, he sends a second message.]

Oh, and thank you, Esther. I will let you know if anything changes.

[Sure enough, Watts could be found outside one of the larger (more like fancier) homes in the city shortly before the time they had agreed to meet. He was frowning slightly at the rather loud sounds emitting from the house. He tended to favour quieter locales for places to spend an evening, but then again he wasn’t here for the party alone. If all went according to plan, this would be an easy enough job, and they could enjoy some of the food on the side. If anything, having a friend around would be a nice distraction from the party itself.

Llewellyn was actually dressed up quite a bit, not one to do anything half-way, his costume very much looking as though it had been pulled straight from an Edwardian Era novel. He looked quite at home in a full suit with a proper tailcoat, top hat and cane included. It certainly helped to have a coworker who also dabbled in traditional theatre work as a hobby that was happy to help out with a last minute case.

After a few minutes of texting back and forth with the other constable already at the party, he took a little look around the grounds outside to see if Esther had arrived yet.]

Clint adjusts his hearing aides and looks at Matt grinning a little bit, "We're still gonna try to carve pumpkin's when we get home." He chuckles a little lacing his fingers through Matt's as they move up to the will call ticket window. This place had good ratings online and he'd talked with Steve and Bucky who went through. (Steve was surprised Bucky didn't punch anyone in the face, jokingly.)

There is screaming and laughing coming from the house, and Clint grins at Matt a little, as they finally move up to get there tickets, "Uhhh two tickets for 7 pm, should be under Barton."
