• Summoned from another dimension
• Rescued from a mad scientist's lab

The kid in question can be whatever character tags yours, or you can enlist that character to help you wrangle your new NPC rugrat. Suit yourselves. Have fun!

["Reported." Ha...Well. That answers that question. Nico eloquently shrugs because he isn't sure what else to do. Having one godly dad was awkward enough. (And proving that he in fact just as awkward as he's claiming his own father is, Nico continues to stand there and...stare at Hades as he tries to figure out how to handle this. Is it weirder to say something or not to say something?]

He's more...Italian. [Well] That's the form I've seen him in. And not Blue. We don't have blue Italians.

[And despite the fact that Nico doesn't say anything else, he continues to linger, clearly trying to get something out.]

[Very few folks here seemed to have made contact with their gods, and fewer still worship them as they did in the days Hades is more familiar with. It seems to him that Olympus slowly closed itself off from contact with the Mortal Realm as time went on. And he's not sure how to take that information yet.

The staring gets a raised eyebrow, as if he's waiting for Nico to spit out what's on his tongue. But the words he gets—while not the ones he thinks they're both waiting on—make the other eyebrow go up.]

So he's more olive-toned. [It makes him snort a little, to imagine himself that way. More like Hera's coloration.] Just as well, I prefer being the only blue Hades. Makes my job of standing out among the rest easier. [Not that he's prideful. Okay, maybe he is. A little.]

But I doubt that you came out here to talk to me to ask about the color of my skin and my occupation.

[He definitely did not and as tempted as he is to grab onto that thread of conversation to avoid the one he's intently not talking about, this is important. Things happened here, and while it might be beneficial enough to keep his heritage from most people he met, he could see no benefit to concealing it from Hades.]

I kind of did, the occupation thing. But I also came here to talk to you about demigods. And if...you know. You...have...um. Any...[Hades have you slept with any mortal women lately? Do demigods even exist in your universe? Nico doesn't know any of these things and he isn't sure which answer would be worse.]

[Not to mention that eventually he'd root it out himself. There wasn't a strong inkling of other gods being here—or their offspring—but there was an odd feeling regardless. And if they knew, then there was the potential for a team-up if the "events" called for it.

A slight frown at that, glad that Persephone isn't here to hear this conversation. Mostly because the implication those words give. And don't mind him, a wee bit flustered as he answers it. And tries to maintain his "cool".]

As far as I know? I don't think so. I haven't had any visitors to my temples for that kind of...matter.

[Temple visits? Nico realizes what he means and flushes, a little mortified. Maria di Angelo was not a "temple visit" but he can't hold that knowledge against the Hades of another universe. He pauses then, unsure how to proceed. If Hades doesn't have any demigod children then perhaps this is a mistake. He didn't ask for this, and for all his godly aura reveals his immortal aura to Nico, this version of Hades seems so strangely...young.]

...um. I'm sorry to have bothered you, this was...[A mistake.] I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come. [He shakes his head, clearly flustered by whatever it is he can't manage to get out. This man is not Nico's father. Attempting to find a connection was a bad choice that he understands now was driven by a longing for his home and he won't find it here, he'll only embarrass himself or somehow manage to insult the god.

Nico bows deeply to Hades, eyes on the floor and ears burning red.]

[AS SOON AS THOSE WORDS COME OUT. Even more flustered of a blue-man than he was before.] N-no, I didn't me— [Hades cuts himself off and rubs a hand over his face.] I mean, I don't think I've had anyone come forward saying that they've had my child. Most of them...ask me to hide Zeus' or Poseidon's. [He's blathering now.]

[But so far the only embarrassment has come from Hades' end. And there's been no insult. He hesitates a moment and then puts a hand on Nico's shoulder.]

You're not... [Putting the olive-toned skin thing together with all the questions.] He didn't abandon you, did he? [Your Hades, he means.]

[When the hand falls on his shoulder Nico looks up, stricken by, well, everything that is happening. This is too weird to process but he guesses he figured it out at least. (Not like Nico was being subtle.)]

No. It's...complicated, but no. We have...[A good relationship? Feels like a stretch because what demigod had a good relationship with their godly parent? Still, Hades was far more attentive than the other gods from what Nico has seen.]...we're on good terms.

I just thought it made sense to meet you because...[He shrugs, you know.]

I'm not expecting anything. At all. [Gods, is he not expecting anything because having a godly dad is weird and he's positive he couldn't handle having two of them.]

Good...good. [He refrains from patting Nico's shoulder and instead removes his hand, putting it in his pants pocket.] Can't say I've ever imagined myself as a father.

[He's left that entirely up to his brothers, to be honest. He knows he's a good uncle though.] But no, I can... I can certainly see why you'd like to have met. At least once.

[Hades shrugs a little, looking back at the building he'd been looking at before.] I don't know if we'll be able to aid each other, what with the different homes. But if you need my aid... [Well. Unspoken you have it.]
