Forced Telepathic Bond Meme: I'm With Stupid

Telepathy. The ability to hear the thoughts of others and pry into other minds. Suddenly, you have it. Or maybe you always had it.

And now you're connected, for better or worse, to another person, for who knows how long. You can feel their thoughts and, more alarmingly, they can hear yours. You share dreams, you can feel them there constantly, you their joy and their grief.

INSTRUCTIONS;

1.] Post with your character name, canon, and any preferences you may have.

2.] Try not to leave just a blank comment. Maybe write a little scenario about what your character is thinking or feeling, something their partner can pick up.

3.] Whoever tags you now shares a telepathic bond with your character.

4.] When tagging, you may roll 1-5 Extent and for How on the RNG if needed.

EXTENT OF TELEPATHY;

1. Sudden Onset Limited. It's a bond limited to exclusively you and your partner.

2. Sudden Onset Unlimited. You and/or your partner can hear the thoughts of others, but it's largely uncontrollable. And you retain a special bond with your partner that you can't block off.

3.] Experienced Limited. You've had your bond for a little while now, and have some experience with controlling it. Limited between you and partner.

4.] Experienced Unlimited w/o Partner. You've had telepathy for a while, but having a bond with your partner is new and confusing.

5.] Experienced Unlimited Partners You and your partner are pretty used to this, and either you, or both of you, can use telepathy on other people.

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?

1. Genetic. Baby, you were born this way. Maybe you didn't know it because it was a recessive trait and only appeared at a certain age. Maybe it's a mutation. Your partner shares this genetic trait and, by proximity, you've been bonded.

2. Government. Generic "The government is responsible!" Either you consented or you did not, but you've been partnered by an act of your government... or someone else's.

3. Experiment. You started trying to just bend spoons and... whoops! It was an experiment. Either you planned it or an enemy/evil scientist is responsible!

4. Through Strife/Friendship. You got really close, whether by sharing a hardship/trauma or just being together and getting on.

5. Really Intense Sex. Smut option. Guess it was so mind-blowing that you literally connected minds.

OH SHIT. Craptacular shit! Not good. I so didn't sign up for freaky mutant brain powers. This was not on any of the forms I signed.

[Darcy recoils from Clint's really gorgeous face, pressing back into the pillows, eyes wide in shock.]

Why didn't it just turn us into giant rage monsters like Bruce? I would have made an awesome rage monster. I could totally have rocked that level of anger.

[Despite the seriousness and the shock of suddenly finding that Darcy Lewis of all people could read his mind and he could read hers he can't help but smile a little at her inner monologue.]

I didn't sign that form either.

[He shrugged.]

Who knew how these things worked? We're just lucky to be alive.

Is it just us? [She bites her lower lip and glances over his shoulder at the open door.] Do we hear anyone else? Because I saw What Women Want and fuck no am I listening to every passing thought everyone has ever, ever had.

[He raised his eyebrows in surprise and then let out a small laugh before trying to bite back the smile.]

I missed that one. Was it good?

[He moved towards the door and stuck his head out.] Nurse. [He gestured towards the room.] There's something wrong with her dressing.

[A nurse appeared a second later and moved towards Darcy. Clint looked pointedly at her and then back at Darcy.]

Picking up on anything?

Unless you get off on sexism and Melt Gibson wearing pantyhose...

[The nurse is all proficiency and cool beside manner but other than sending out irritated vibes.]

Silent as the grave.

Neither of those have really done it for me.

[He nods at the nurse when she looks up at him, but says nothing.]

Nothin'. Guess this is just our party then. Am I the only one thinking this calls for a truce? Obviously there are going to be things we're thinking that we're probably not going to want to share.

[Hysterical laughter nearly took over her. Uther yeah. Yeah there was. Like how often she stares at Steve's perfect apple bottom, or contemplates the Hulk's dong. Or how the last conscious thought she had before everything exploded wasn't only oh shit I'm dead but how nice Clint's arms felt around her. Yeah. Things like that.

She cringed.]

[He grinned at her, giving her a look that said maybe he had underestimated her. Or in this case her mind.]

[Because it was just a matter of time before Darcy picked up on the complicated and very secret relationship he had with Tasha, or the way he liked to aggravate Hill just to see that little furrow in her brow. Or the fact that he was fairly sure the only reason Bruce had joined them on the way to the beach was because he had caught Clint watching Darcy the day before as she'd sat on the couch, bobbing along to her iPod.

His eyes flickered up to hers.]

[Now if only there was a hole she can slink into and DIE. Things Clint does not near to hear. One. She contemplates Avenger cock. Two. She thinks Clint's arms are boss.

[Clint clears his throat and grins at her. He raises an eyebrow at her as the nurse they've called in finishes up checking the wrapping around Darcy's ribs.]

If it's any consolation, you've got a boss rack. Not that I think about it. Or that I'm thinking about it now.

[And if she adjusts herself against the pillow a little, pushing out the girls some more, who's going to judge? Her momma would be very proud.]

[The laugh escapes him before he has a chance to force it down and a small smile lingers behind the smile.]

How fast are we talking? Ninja needing to take a leak or elderly grandma on a scooter? Because I'm leaning more toward the grandma end of the spectrum.

[Cracked ribs were a bitch. She could really, really live the rest of her life without having it happen again. She wasn't fast to begin with. This was pathetic.]

[She quirked a brow. Cracked ribs or not she had fucking fantastic breasts and she was not afraid to use them.]

[But it wasn't as if he could keep a straight face at that invitation. Or turn it down. He was back in two with a pair of scrubs and a pencil.

[She bit her tongue and grinned. Way too easy. But damn was she impressed when two minutes later he came back with something that wasn't a hospital johnny.]

[He set the scrubs down on the bed and moved so that he could get at the ties in the back of her gown.]

[He moved in front of her and nodded to indicate she should lift her arms.]

How am I normal?

[He wasn't exactly Captain America. He could feel the soreness pulsing through his own body, but somehow he'd gotten less knocked up than Darcy. The good drugs were helping too though.

Maybe that was why he wasn't quite so disturbed by sharing thoughts with Darcy. That or her thoughts sounded a lot like his own.

He shot her a sympathetic look, his eyes searching hers to see if the movement was too much, but gave her a small grin as she finished the thought.]

[He leaned in, curling his fingers underneath the fabric of the gown and pulled it off carefully.]

[Darcy leaned forward. Help was so needed right now if they were ever going to get the hell out of here. SHIELD was scary, okay. She knew that when she signed on. That didn't mean she had to FORGET that.

And their nurses were WORSE.]

This is the worst sort of strip tease I've ever taken part in.

[He's trying to be respectful. Honest. Still, it's hard not to appreciate the view, though it is tempered a little by the sight of the bruises. He grabs the scrub top and rolls it up in order to slip it over her head a little easier.]

[Darcy grabbed his shoulders and tugged herself toward him, kissing his cheek]

If anyone ever says you're less of a gentleman than Steve, I'll deck them.
