HADES AND PERSEPHONE MEME
So it goes: Hades fell in love with Persephone at first sight and conspired with his brother, Zeus, to kidnap her from her mother Demeter, who was so overprotective of her daughter that she would let no man near her. And once he had her in the Underworld, she resisted him, the calm and quiet god that had so many tales about him but no real truths because so rarely did anyone come to know him. The world withered without her, for Demeter was furious and bereft without her.
In the end, Demeter got her daughter back, and so the world could bloom again. But while she was below the earth, Persephone ate a few seeds of a pomegranate, dooming her to spend a portion of the year with Hades, whose devotion knew no end. As the queen of the Underworld, people came to fear her, and many feared to so much as speak her name lest they draw down her ire, while speaking her husband's name was perfectly permissible because honestly, he just wasn't that scary compared to her.
All that prattle aside: Your Hades has found the love of his life in Persephone, but he uses kidnapping, Stockholm, and other methods to ensnare her heart. Whether everything is strained and horrible or she truly comes to love him, things are what they are. Whether the Underworld and the gods and goddesses are literal or figurative is up to you.

Well then, I suppose I shall have to keep that in mind then, to take care of myself so that we may have more delightful conversations such as this one-- perhaps without the dreamworld standing between us.
[ He knew that she'd wake up soon-- it was an inevitability of course, that the waking happen. It was the perennial cycle of things, all things pass and yet with endings there were also beginnings. Did he think that she would forget about him? Well with the pains that he had taken in order to reach her through this dreamscape, well of course he hoped that she wouldn't-- but if she did, if this slipped her mind; he knew without a shadow of a doubt that they 'would' meet again-- even if he had to orchestrate the whole thing out carefully and thoroughly, they would meet and then he would be able to woo her all over again, win her.
His beautiful goddess of flowers and light. Oh, he knew that he had done enough in his vast lives to warrent that he did not deserve her, but he followed her all the same-- and he was not so scrupulous that he wouldn't greedily take anything that he was given and without absolutely no remorse. Oh, absolutely not, they would meet in the half-life time and time again, that grey area right between darkness and light-- where they could linger before either side took them away, And through the years, it'd been harder to stray from that sliver of grey that seperated the two sides ]

While she would like to imagine that someone with his experience was indeed capable of looking after himself without need for her to worry, worrying was in her very nature. As a healer she was often subjected to the worst that battle had to offer, even against the elements of nature. She knew all too well how easily a stroke of bad luck could mean the difference between life or death, and by comparison she didn't know enough about him to ease her mind, not completely.
Once again her fingers curled a little tighter around his, squeezing gently one more time, and in a lighter tone, still with an air of playfulness:]
I'll see to it that you're suitably rewarded for your efforts, so please do keep it at the forefront of your thoughts.
[Without him having to say a word she knew that their time was likely coming to a close. It felt as though something had shifted, or maybe something was disturbing her sleep, a beam of sunlight on her face, the stirring of the forest around the cabin, a knock at the door- it could be anything. She was reluctant to let things end so soon, but conflicting that emotion was the excited urge to see his promise kept, to meet in the waking world where they wouldn't be hindered by such outside disturbances.
Even so, she couldn't stop herself from admitting it to him.]
... I wish I didn't have to wake so soon.

Throughout time-- over ages and between time and space, he knew that he didn't deserve the soul that resonated back at him, but that certainly did not stop him from drawing close as if being close could fill him with warmth by sheer proximity. ]
There will not be a day that passes that I do not think about you--
[ That was his own promise, thorough and yet still for the most part reverent- Emet-Selch, Hades-- he brought the fingertips to his lips once again to kiss fondly and while there was a melancholy there, there was also a determination that they should not go so long without him finding his way to her path again. But he did have work to do before he could search her out again
The dreamscape was starting to fade around them, the real world moving back into alighnment. The arum started to retreat, to stop their glow as they retreated to the darkness of dreams, and his form starting to break up as sleep's eyes began to open. But there was hope there-- hope and a promise that he would come back to her; it would only be a matter of time ]
