HADES AND PERSEPHONE MEME So it goes: Hades fell in love with Persephone at first sight and conspired with his brother, Zeus, to kidnap her from her mother Demeter, who was so overprotective of her daughter that she would let no man near her. And once he had her in the Underworld, she resisted him, the calm and quiet god that had so many tales about him but no real truths because so rarely did anyone come to know him. The world withered without her, for Demeter was furious and bereft without her. In the end, Demeter got her daughter back, and so the world could bloom again. But while she was below the earth, Persephone ate a few seeds of a pomegranate, dooming her to spend a portion of the year with Hades, whose devotion knew no end. As the queen of the Underworld, people came to fear her, and many feared to so much as speak her name lest they draw down her ire, while speaking her husband's name was perfectly permissible because honestly, he just wasn't that scary compared to her. All that prattle aside: Your Hades has found the love of his life in Persephone, but he uses kidnapping, Stockholm, and other methods to ensnare her heart. Whether everything is strained and horrible or she truly comes to love him, things are what they are. Whether the Underworld and the gods and goddesses are literal or figurative is up to you. • Top level your character. Include any details you might think are relevant. Or don't, we're not the cops. HOWEVER, definitely put whether you want your character as Hades or Persephone in this AU! • Reply to other people's top levels! • Have fun!

[More and more often lately, she's been finding herself crossing over into the vampire Alucard's dreams.

In her waking hours, she and Vlad have discussed the phenomenon at length, of course. It's not as though she would keep something like that from him, for one thing, and for another he is always her primary resource for information about inexplicable phenomena that she develops curiosity about. To his credit, her husband takes the idea of her encountering another version of him reasonably well — as well as any husband could, really. He's as possessive of her as Alucard had predicted he'd be, yet unthreatened by the notion overall. It's reassuring to know he hasn't the slightest doubt about her love for him, or the fact that her devotion matches his own. It makes it easier to probe at the more intellectual questions that arise out of the situation, the curiosities of how and why.

But she never denies that Alucard fascinates her; how could he not? Everything that draws her to Vlad is reflected in him, in some fashion or variant. It's merely her kind heart at work, Vlad says on occasion, as he holds her hand or kisses her cheek; a manifestation of her perfection, how she can't help but see the best in him, no matter what version of him she's looking at.

He's right; she's always acutely aware of how lonely Alucard is, and how if there had ever been a Lisa in his own world, something had happened to cause them to miss each other. She would help him if she could, and she wants to. That's not something she could ever help, any more than Vlad could help the things that make him the lord of vampires.

So she sleeps, and sometimes she dreams, and sometimes when she dreams, they aren't entirely her own. Such a strange course of events, to know that in the waking world, Vlad's arms are around her in their bed, cradling her with all the love and care he has to offer, and in the meantime here she is, drawn to cross over and visit with another version of him for a spell.

But she doesn't mind it, not really. She's rather fond of Alucard, really, and there's no mistaking how fond — if politely restrained about it — he is of her.

He'll be happy to see her, she muses, and walks forward into his dream, knowing he'll find her sooner or later.

He always does, after all.]

[Since she was old enough to hold a cane Toh'ni had longed to see the world. She'd studied the way of conjury until at last she'd mastered it well enough that she felt confident in her choice to leave the safety of home, and since then she'd had a great many adventures. Eventually she'd felt called to settle in one place, and so she'd put aside the life of a traveling healer and found a spot of land to call her own.

The life that she'd chosen for herself after was quiet but satisfying. And while it was true that she missed home, she felt she was just where she was meant to be. So, yes, there were often days and nights when she missed being able to look towards the sky to see the familiar, distant glittering surface of the sea miles overhead. There were times she missed the sound of the waters, the laughter of young siblings, but she didn't regret her decision.

It was also true that she didn't receive many visitors, but those who did find their way to her neck of the woods always had interesting stories to share, and she did not want for life's necessities. She honed her craft, tended to her gardens, read her books, and on the occasions that warranted it, traveled for supplies and simply for the sake of exploring her surrounds.

The most unusual occurrence at any given time were the visitor and the dreams. The latter she'd always had. She could never recall any details, only impressions, scents and echoes of emotion, like she was experiencing them from a lifetime away. Ever since he came, however, they had become much more frequent and pronounced.

Tall, mysterious, with sunken golden eyes that looked constantly weary, no matter how lively his tone, or animated his gestures. She'd been struck by two things, the first being the sense of familiarity that she felt towards him, the draw. The second was a sense of foreboding, like a warning bell going off in the back of her mind.

At the time she'd been too taken in by his mysterious air and her own curiosity to pay it an extra mind. The visit hadn't gone on terribly long compared to some others, but it stuck with her for weeks after the fact, and dozens of questions began to fill the space between his departure and the passing days. For one, why was it that when he'd introduced himself at the time something about it had seemed wrong? Like a shirt that didn't sit the way that it was meant to over the shoulders. It served a purpose, it looked the part, but it just didn't... feel right.

Another thing that struck her, why did it seem as if he'd been surprised by her in the beginning? He was a stranger, and so it was impossible for her to know what any of his actions or words truly meant, but that was important somehow, she was sure.

Well, in any event... she'd given him some herbs from one of her garden beds, as well as a bit of food for his journey, and as she had with every visitor before him- a single flower to remember her by- an arum, she remembered. Typically associated with death, the flower was her favorite none the less. She kept a host of them (along with bright lilies) around her cottage more than most other flowers, all different colors.

Thinking back on it, perhaps she should have been more cautious...

Rousing from a slumber she couldn't recall falling into, dark eyes took in her surrounds with a distant sense that something was amiss. What that was she couldn't say. Was she still in her own bed, in her cottage? Was she alone? Nothing was clear, the room- whatever room she was in -was dark, and her head felt muddled. Somehow, though, she didn't think she was alone.]

[How would you feel about awkward pining from the god that made the vines used to pay Ganymede's dad off. I could see him telling Zues that he's just borrowing the cupbarer to make a better cup. Really, he's just really very sorry for his part in Ganymede's abduction to Olympus and wants to take Ganymede away from it for a bit. No one comes to Aetna anyway.]

Who's she kidding? With no major heists on the table and most of her systems running on autopilot, she absolutely doesn't have better things to do. La Calamidad is pale and blonde in that perfect gringo way that sort of makes Sombra want to grind her face into the dirt, dumbass cowboy hat and all, but her eyes are sharp and she's so clearly dangerous that Sombra's instantly smitten.

Gotta play it cool, though. She sprawls on the couch like she doesn't have a care in the world, reaching one hand out to retrieve her own burger. ]

Loki comes to laying on her back in an opulent room, not a ruined train, with a woman in an elegant red dress leaning over her. A curious red energy swirls around her hands while she tends to Loki's injuries, both physical and mental.
