Arkady was a man that Thomas knew he should avoid. While his run ins with Arkady's brother were brief, he never seemed to feel wanted. Sometimes, he felt like he was almost intruding. So, he didn't come around often. He was polite, almost cordial if he saw them both out, but he kept himself at bay. He did not do anything about the longing he felt.

Until he had heard the news. Arkady's brother was out of town, traveling on business. Thomas had not meant to eavesdrop, but when he heard the news while picking up his post, he headed over to Arkady's home straight away.

He tried not to sound impatient, but he had knocked at the door rather hard and fast. "Please be home," he mumbled to himself.
