[ Anyone who spends a large amount of time around Sandra Bennet is probably rendered capable of keeping their cool, even if she's human. She's literally the coolest mom in the history of television - well. Almost. Second to Joyce Summers - BUT THAT IS NEITHER HERE NOR THERE. I think it's safe to assume that she's been more than warm and welcoming to John even when Noah hasn't, because boyfriends are bad, Claire never grows up, normal dad stuff.

She smiles as they walk, looking over at him occasionally just because she can - just because she wants to. It's rare she sees him in a truly good mood. She squeezes back, and is so busy looking at his face that she doesn't even notice he's stopped at first. Her eyebrows raise and she turns her gaze to the stars. Immediately, she lights up. ]

Oh my god! [ Though the last time astronomical phenomena occurred she lost her powers, this seems harmless. And good. And really well timed. ] We should find a hill or something. So we can sit, if you want.

Are any of them good?

[Oh no, Korra. Was that an invitation to talk?] Yes! Twenty-two of them--but that refers to areas of the sky. My two favorites are the Virgo Constellation and the Pisces Constellation, although I think I prefer Virgo. Both are unique because they contain the only two points in the sky where the ecliptic intersects with the celestial equator, but I like Virgo's story--the story of the image formed by stars, not that part of the sky.

[Before launching into a detailed account of said story, he pokes Korra more insistently.]

[ Along with everything that comes out of Serah's mouth, of course. But she raises a good point - a lot of the old names aren't exactly relevant, anymore - and so he grins, turning his gaze upward again. ]

Here's what I think. [ He reaches up, framing a portion of the sky with his gloved hands. ] That group looks kinda like a chocobo. This one over here - that's a boomerang, like Hope's. And these... [ moving his hands up a bit ] these were the ones I proposed to you under. They don't really look like anything, but I like to think they're ours anyway.

[Emma considers herself the last person who should be taking time out of her night to gaze at the stars. She honestly doesn't know anything about them, except that they couldn't be seen in most of the places where she lived. When they could, she never thought to do anything like this - why would she? To remind herself how lonely she was? But Henry has started to show an interest in astronomy, and August never seems to run out of stories. Being out here with him, that's a lot different than staring up at stars alone.

She straightens out the blanket that was in the back of the beetle and lays down, letting her hair fan out against the soft fabric that separates her from the grass beneath her. It's cool out but not unbearably cold, and dark enough on the edge of the forest to only have the light of those stars above them.]

So, this is what we came out here for.

[ the reassurance spreads her lips into a brighter smile, though it's still on the softer side. after a moment, she follows snow's gaze to the sky, her own moving with the frame of his hands easily. while the chocobo almost coaxes a small laugh from her, the mention of hope followed so smoothly by his proposal mellows any laughter in her throat. ]

Even if they don't look like anything to anyone else, I'll always think of you when I see them. [ she doesn't bother to right her posture, still resting her shoulder against his as she reaches out to curl her fingers around one of his hands framing those stars. ] They mean everything.

[Kate loved the woods for so many reasons, not the least of which was that there were fewer humans, and thus less temptation.

But she also loved it because the further away from the city, the less the light pollution obstructed her view of the sky at night. And tonight was special. A comet was going to arc across the late night sky that she hadn't seen since she was very young. Back when breathing and blinking weren't simply artifice, but actual need.

But it wasn't special just because of that.

No matter how reassuring he may have sounded, Mary was still fairly worried. She was thankful herself for the spell he cast around her, but kept focusing on keeping a barrier up around him, after all he was the one taking the most risk to defeat this Gnosis.

Alas she noticed too late the tentacle that was falling toward her and in spite of her best effort to move out of the way, the creature hits her leg, causing her to fall. It was nothing mortal and thanks to Yeshua's efforts the tentacle was disintegrated before it could make any serious harm to her, but she was still in pain and unable to stand.

"I-I'll be alright, don't worry about it!" she said to him, although the pain could be heard in her voice "Focus on the Gnosis."
