TIME TO PARTY
![]() WHAT IF THEY HAD LIVED? MEME We're not going to have a ton of prompts today, folks. However, we are going to have this. Say your character or someone close to your character dies in canon. Perhaps they die young, perhaps they're a big damn hero, perhaps they're a slithery villain that SHOULD be dead. What would happen if they didn't? How would the world change? This is your place to explore that kind of AU! Did the death situation never happen? Did they perhaps escape by the skin of their teeth? Did something (or someone) save them? How does the bright and shining (or dark and ominous) future pan out for them? |
I'm so down to ship. XD Don't even worry 'bout it.
He'd pulled away enough to drink in the details of Noctis' face, catch the familiar light in those blue eyes, and admire the way that even messy, his hair looked so perfectly tousled.]
Shit man, I'm sorry, I- I didn't even catch what you were saying happened, how- I thought...
[Another tear falls and he doesn't bother to wipe this one away, looking down guiltily.]
We'd given up hope Noct. I'm so sorry. We should've been there when you needed us.
:D
You couldn't have been there. None of us even knew where I was.
[ How could he possibly even begin to hold any anger against any of them? All Noctis felt was a deep sense of relief and happiness. Of course there was guilt on his end too, even if it was also baseless. He felt sorry for making them wait and worry about him yet again.
It was best to focus on what he had now. ]
You did everything right.
[ He leaned in, pressing his forehead against Prompto's. His friends suffered so much for him. It was difficult to think of all those who were hurt or died to help him on his way. Now was his chance to repay them... to be a good king and make sure they didn't suffer or die in vain. ]
...Thank you.

Somehow as Noct gave him a shake, it really did help. That physical reminder that their king was right in front of him. Paired with his words of support, it was almost enough to make him start crying all over again. Prompto's lower lip trembled briefly, as their foreheads touched, but he held the tears in.
What'd I tell you Noct? Ever at your side, right?

[ His own tears were not easy to hold in. There was so much he had to do, so many people he had to talk to.
And yet, at that moment, he only wanted to hold Prompto in his arms. Just for awhile longer if he could. ]
I guess even the Astrals can't get between us.
[ He let out a soft, humorless laugh. Gods, Noctis thought about all he had to do and it felt so, so intimidating. So many people were going to rely on him to lead the way, and he didn't know how. He was supposed to be dead. ]
I'm... I'm gonna need a lot of help moving forward.
