I have ones that slip around my arms in a nice shade of orange. They're bulky, but secure. Oh, and there's a tube as well. It fits around my mid section, and since they're filled with air it stops the pull of the water trying to drag me down.

[ Eizen stop... ]

[Oh by the five lords... This is proof it's been far too long since she's seen her brother; she'd forgotten how enthusiastic and verbose he can be once he gets started. Thankfully the mental image he provides keeps her from complaining. In fact, while her umbrella does come down to hide her face, a tiny, barely audible noise follows.]

[A laugh.]

Sounds as ridiculous as an earth malak pirate. Fitting.

Hm... The only thing sillier than a floaty-wearing pirate earth malak might be a floaty-wearing landlubber earth malak on a mountain. Idiot.

[ Still, he sees that hand and immediately pulls a box out of his coat with cute floral printed paper and hands it to her. Enjoy your new arm floaties, Edna.]

[Not like she'd ever cry enough to make her own pool, nope.]

[Once she's carefully opened her gift and has the floaties in hand, there's a long minute where she just stares at them. It's not what she was expecting after Eizen described his own. They're... cute. Terribly, ridiculously cute.]

Your taste is as awful as ever. [Said with a obvious smile as she slips them on and bumps a floaty-clad arm against his elbow.] ...thanks.

[ The pride swelling in him right now is so enormous. He will never love anything quite as much as he loves to see that smile on her face. ]

I was told the wings give it extra float.

[ Did he believe it?... probably. At least Edna was smart enough to realize that was stupid. ]

[How somebody can be so capable and have so much knowledge while being a gullible sap is beyond her. Yet it's part of that brotherly charm she'd never change.]

I should make you take me to the beach so they get some use. And make sure you're not pulling my leg about being able to float.

[ While it sounds dangerous to go to the beach, especially if she's with him and his curse, he can't deny that it'd be nice to see more of that smile. She has gotten older too, so maybe she could defend herself against whatever his curse might have in store for them, but at the same time he'd hate to put her in that situation to begin with....

But look at that smile, he hasn't seen it in such a long time... ]

[She can almost hear the gears turning in that head of his. For her it may have been a long, long time since they last spoke face-to-face but his expression is not one she could forget. She also knows not to push and so waits patiently... for all of ten seconds.]

If you're worrying about some disaster befalling me, don't. I'm not a child. I can take care of myself. Always have been.

[Ever since she stopped growing, at least. And before that her own good luck kept her safe.]

You got a swimsuit already? That coat won't be much help in the water. [pokepoke goes the umbrella in his side]

[ Getting scolded by Edna... it's just like the good ol' days. And while he knows he should trust his sister, there was still a part of him that just can't trust his own curse to keep Edna safe. ]

I suppose it wouldn't be a proper beach trip without a swimsuit now would it. But don't you need one too?

Nope, it wouldn't. [A familiar smirk settles on Edna's face as she opens her umbrella and gives it a light twirl. The opportunity is too good to pass up.] Which is why I already have one. A present from an admirer, you might say.

[That's hardly the right way to describe her Shepherd but it's not exactly wrong, either. RIP, Sorey.]

[ What? What?? Who the hell is admiring his sister? He visibly bristles at the mere thought. ]

An admirer, huh? He doesn't sound like a decent guy giving gifts like that.

Could've been worse. [She won't say how. Sometimes it's best to let the imagination create its own horrors.] Besides, he just didn't want my regular dress to get wet again.
