He hopes Gilbert isn't just saying that, because even if Gilbert signs custody over to him, the child is both of theirs and he wants Gilbert to truly like the name. Perhaps when Gilbert has more time to wrap his head around the idea they could speak of it again.

Finally, he decides to bring up something that was nagging at him and he was hesitant to bring up. "What made you decide to do this?"

"Because it's not fair to you that I don't want kids." He... Thinks that's the reason. It's hard to put into words, other than it seemed like a good idea at the time. "And Mutti and Vati will be happy to have a grandkid to spoil. I don't know." Gilbert rubs his face with his hand. What made him decide to do this indeed. Excellent question, he's glad you asked, do be sure to tell him what the answer is when you find out.

"You are amazing, brother," he leans over and gives Gilbert a closed mouth kiss, only because Gil hasn't brushed his teeth, yet.

He snorts in disbelief at that. "Amazingly stupid, maybe. I didn't even stop to think about it other than it'll make the family happy." Sorry, he can't feel amazing right now. Awesome? Well, he's always that. But he feels like an idiot.

"I don't know yet about Mutti and Vati, but you're making me extremely happy," he said. "And that's one thing that makes you amazing."

Yes, he's a bit sappy right now.

Stupid Ludwig. Stupid, sappy Ludwig. Gilbert just leans back against his pillows. He doesn't know if he's ready to be that kind of amazing yet. "I really don't wanna tell Mutti. She's been hounding me for years saying I'll change my mind about kids when I meet the right person. I do not want to hear any I told you sos from her."

"I don't think this is what she meant," he said. He was certain their parents wouldn't condone their relationship.

"No, but I'm still pregnant, right? She doesn't need to know who the other father is. For all I care, she can think I'm too stupid and irresponsible to take my pills often enough to keep from ovulating, but decided to have unprotected sex anyways. Actually, I'd almost rather she think that than think I deliberately got knocked up." They almost certainly wouldn't condone it. Who would, really?

He looks a bit bashful. "I didn't even know you were," he said. It indicated the new suppressant worked as intended.

"...Huh?" And Ludwig accuses his mind of making weird logical leaps.

"Ovulating, I mean, I know that's the point of the new suppressant you're on, but I thought... there should have been some sort of indication. Something that made you even more irresistible than normal."

Ludwig couldn't help the compliments flowing from his mouth now.

"Nah, the entire point is that people aren't supposed to be able to tell. Though they might need to adjust it because I would have liked to have known it was happening five months before the earliest it was supposed to." He's ignoring that compliment.

"They might have thought because you were on the Supraxol so long that it would take your body longer to adjust," he said. It sounded like a good theory to him.

"That's what they said. That it takes about six to twelve months for everything to get back in working order." Well, Lutz, your theory is the correct one.

He decides not to compliment Gilbert on having such a strong Omega side. He's certain that it would be taken the wrong way. He is also not going to mention the fact that it seems Gilbert's body truly wanted a baby, whether he consciously did or not.

"It's because you're amazing."

"No, I'm not! I'm not ready." How is he amazing when his body is so clearly more fertile than anticipated? Oh, sure, wonderful quality to have in a broodmare, maybe, but he hates it. As soon as he can, it's back on the old suppressants, assuming he can't talk the doctor into a hysterectomy along with the cesarean. That would be ideal, but unlikely while he's as young as he is, especially now that he's 'changed his mind' about having kids.

"We both have nine months to become ready for the baby to arrive. Yes, you will experience things that I never will, but I will be there with you during it," he said.

"That's not what I meant! I mean, I'm not ready to be... to be... I thought I'd have at least five more months! Time to talk to my boss... Figure out how to talk to you... Just get used to the idea of... of..." he flails a little as he tries to think.

It takes him a moment to figure out. Once he does he stands to lean over the bed and give his brother a hug.

Stupid Ludwig, why are you hugging him? "I don't wanna be pregnant..." he mumbles against his brother's shoulder. Shit. Why can't he just stay in one emotional state? His mood is bouncing around worse than if you put a hi-bounce ball in a pinball machine.

He hugs his brother just a little bit tighter before pulling away. "Everything will work out. You're the most determined person I know," he said.

"Define 'work out'." He lays back against the bed once Ludwig pulls away. Nudge nudge nudge nudge nudge WHOMP! There goes a pillow.

He bends and gets the pillow placing it back on the bed. "Somehow, we'll figure out how to keep your job. You'll become comfortable, at least, with the pregnancy, even if you never like it. And we'll have the most beautiful baby ever," he says.

No, he doesn't want the pillow there any more. So nudgenudgenudgeWHOMP! "Even if I keep my job, am I really gonna want to go back? Most of 'em are assholes..." He's sure he's complained often enough before about how they treat women and Omegas. The large pillow is about to go over the edge of the bed next.

He picks up the pillow and places at the very end of the bed, reachable if Gil wants it, but out of the way. "Then perhaps a new job. I know you are good at airplane design, what about other mechanical vehicles?"
