[ It's one of those rare times Logan's taken a car out instead of a bike, but he's not alone this time-- Isabel's seated at his side, and she's just turned twenty-one years old, and he's trying to do this right.

Thinking about her being an adult isn't necessarily difficult. She's always been more mature than most, always been easy to speak to about even the harder hitting things. But he thinks about how all their late night talks had had Sprite shared between them, and how now he can bring beer instead, and...

( She's only known Noctis for a couple of weeks. Only just agreed to a date with him, really. Things are still new, and there's still so much Serah doesn't know about him. All the same, that doesn't stop her from uttering a horrified No way! when a passing guard asks her if she's here to celebrate the prince's birthday. How could she not know that? And now she's at the Citadel empty handed, trying to find him.

Well, she supposes there's enough money in her purse to cover a lunch date. )

The last minute request still irritates him even at its most benign core. It's just Lin's luck his phone doesn't drop the call for once on his way to the station, conveniently putting at Jiro's sweet tongued disposal. The bar owner is hard to turn down, as Jiro rarely, if ever, asks him for anything significant (aside from that one unfortunate business). When he hurriedly begs him to make a detour at his apartment to feed the cat that neither he nor his bratty kid had been around to care for all day, Lin can't help but grumble, protest, then agree.

On the one hand, Lin's already on his way for what passes for a date. Not that he's particularly enthused about it, despite what the height of his heels could tell you, or the earrings, or the evening make up--right, he is in fact dressed up with more care than usual. He could always say it's self-care. On the other hand--

He's already lost track of the argument with himself, right as he arrives at the carpeted hallway outside Jiro's door. The spare key turns the lock clunkily enough, but it's not what the young man notices once he steps into the darkness of the foyer.

One set of indentations along the plush carpet is telling enough. Two, three, four, five--nine?

"I'm stabbing the first person who jumps out at me."

He announces without turning the lights, his tone as sharp as the proposed stabbing.

[For anyone familiar with the usually-meek and quiet college student, this image of Ryuushi looking terribly frantic and out of breath might come as a bit of a surprise. When Zen opens up his front door, he'll be greeted by the sight of the young man sweating profusely with reddened cheeks, as if he just got finished running a mile... and, yeah, that's pretty much what happened. At first he struggles to catch his breath, slumped downwards with both hands upon his knees, but eventually he manages to shout-]

I-- I'M SORRY...!

I just... remembered... and I- this is all I c- can do, and there's no excuse, b-but I.... I'm such an idiot, so, u- um...!

[Reaching into his back pocket, Ryuushi fumbles a bit before pulling all of the cash out of his wallet and awkwardly shoving several bills against Zen's chest.]
