PARTY!: You're throwing a wild party in your brand-new treehouse. Anything from a pizza party to a wild kegger.

SECRET CLUB!: You're having a secret meeting, and it's invitation only. You need to know the password to get in. No Homers Allowed. What sort of club is it? Or maybe you want to break in on someone else's meeting. It's not fair that they won't let you in!

INVASION!: Another treehouse group is plotting a takeover! You better defend yourselves, or get ready to take over that lousy club next door.

SLEEPOVER! Get into your sleeping bag, gather 'round a lantern to swap scary stories. Or maybe you want to cuddle up to that special someone on a cool fall night.

BUILDING! Your treehouse is still a work in progress. What are you adding to it? Maybe someone can come along to hinder help get it ready.

ALONE TIME! You're hiding in your treehouse, minding your own business and totally not reading dirty magazines, when someone crashes in on your fun.

[ Weird things happen in this swamp.

His mom has read about it on her message boards and they've been planning a trip down here to see if they can find anything on maybe discovering where boy came from. But after everything with the bus, Clark's feeling antsy and unsure and that's why one night when he can hear them both fast asleep, he goes traveling.

It's not that far for him, after all, not with the speed he can go. Speed he rarely uses but that late, it's simple enough not to be seen. He slows down when he gets to the swamp, starts wandering at the same speed anyone else might, looking for some sign, some anything, of what might have caused the kind of stories that bring people to this place.

When he spots the tree house, it seems like the logical place to go: maybe not the sign of an alien civilization, perhaps, but someplace where he might find someone to talk to and ask questions of. ]

[It's not every day someone or something accidentally transports an alternate universe version of your son to your reality. They're still looking for answers on that one including the painfully obvious one of how to get James home. For now he's here. Steve is determined to do right by him. He's not technically his dad, but he kind of is. Besides, he's already adopted adults like Wanda and Vision(?) into his life. Why not an actual child?

The treehouse is admittedly a little bit of a silly idea considering James is a temporary resident here. The compound is very much not for children though. Tony signed off on this along with providing help whenever he's not busy doing things for Stark Solutions. This is one of the times where it's just them. While that always makes Steve a little nervous, he's doing the best he can to seem collected when they're together. James doesn't need to know how much he has no idea what he's doing where they're concerned. After a few hours of work, Steve stops what he's up to check in on James.]

[This is so much cooler than an inn room or sleeping in the rain. Private, a ways from civilization, conveniently raised above the marsh floor so the various hungry creatures don't get up in your business.

...Okay, so it's also the ex-lair of bandits, recently slain, and there's a bit of a stain in the floor over in that corner. But it's stocked out with food and drink, good for spending a couple nights in comfort, and it's practically a training grounds for moving silently, with how creaky some of the floorboards are.

Best yet: there were a couple of these tree houses, so the rest of the Mighty Nein is split up between them. Privacy, available.]

Fjord can't help a little cringe from his place standing at the railing of the deck as he watches the corpulent body of the late bandit king hit the mud of the swamp below. They'd been going for the water, but the dude was actually even heavier than he looked ( and Fjord was not exactly the best at tossing things... ) so they land just a foot shy of being able to hear a splash instead of this horrible swamp soundtrack.

As gravity does its work, a squelching, sucking sound continues from the bog down below. Fjord had no fucking clue what manner of creature this boss had been, but the pain of taking him down was certainly being offset by his impromptu 'burial' baring the unmistakable resemblance to a soul-wrenching session of flatulence. ]

God damn!

[ The half-orc waves a hand in front of his face, mostly for the benefit of the monk who was just as responsible as him for the miss rather than any actual smell. The swamp in this area ( really the silt from the water ) smelled awful all around except for inside, where there was an enchanted contraption to keep the air fresh and circulating from the more fragrant tree tops.

They weren't the only ones on body detail, but Fjord was one of the few who needed help disposing of his share. Also, Yasha was back, so since the Nein had all decided they'd be staying in the tree houses long enough to rest and pillage the place for all it was worth, Fjord figured maybe Beau might like an ear.

It didn't hurt he kind of feels like a badass for being able to tackle and accomplish carrying out the biggest, baddest motherfucker in there. Thanks, Beau. ]

Don't think Nott's sneakin' down there to get the tongue later. Shit, should we've gotten the head? Nah, fuck it. Sure we'll find somethin'.

[ Pretty much the coolest thing on this godforsaken planet and she has no intentions of leaving any time soon. ]

Magnus does not like vampires. They don't like him either, bit that is to be expected. Vampires and werewolves are age-old enemies after all, and this is the home of a vampire clan that has all too recently experienced massacre at the hands of their own. It's not something Magnus can condone but it happens frequently enough within the supernatural community.

It should not, but it does.

When Magnus arrives, he's politely but coldly informed Mademoiselle Genovese is outside. He's shown the route towards the back door and the lush green garden. And then he's left to make his own way forward.

And yes, there's a tree house, a very grand one, at the far side of the lawn. He makes his way there, wondering how best to go about his task. Introductions are usually called for, but he has never had to do such a think for one so young.

"Mademoiselle Holly Genovese? May I have a moment of your time?"

[It's by far one of the strangest gifts they've ever received from Steve. At the very edge of the compound lies a new treehouse. She can hardly believe Stark signed off on ruining his perfectly designed building for this much less that Steve would come up with it. His explanation makes a terrible amount of sense. They need a place where they can just be together with no expectations. They can draw, play her guitar, or Viz can teach them to play chess. They can just lay around with some books. No pressures or staff milling about. Just them. She can't find any fault in it after that. Viz is downright delighted his notes have yielded progress so quickly. Really everyone wins until she sees who is in charge of making Steve's idea a reality; the new friend he takes off to see and have group with which never sits right with her.

She's not nearly as trusting as Steve. Outsiders are historically trouble when your world is usually made of only two people. Even expanded to a small group doesn't change that philosophy for Wanda. Pietro would call her jealous if he were alive to see her. The thought makes her bristle. It was letting someone in that got him killed, after all. She won't make the same mistake twice.

She watches him with a lack of subtlety that will undoubtedly disappoint Natasha later as Viz, the one who watches her, comments. She can't help agreeing with him even as she continues to watch this strange man with Viz until whatever remains of JARVIS picks up on the fact he's likely thirsty by now. It's Wanda that goes to with a giant sports drink to greet him now that Steve has been called in on some business likely either Avenger or Peggy Carter related. Viz, even after adopting a more human look for this visit, is still too self-conscious to greet someone new. She goes alone with only his gaze heavy on her back as she greets Frank.]

Viz thinks you should thirsty by now. Here. [What a warm greeting from undoubtedly the friendliest of the pair.]
