I'm a pretty slow tagger normally, usually play in wordy, angst-ridden prose threads, so something quick and easy is always welcome in my inbox, lol.

I think it's ridiculous to play 6 characters because you are obsessed with an actor. Especially since they all seem the same when they post.

Have to agree with this. I can see having one or two of the same pb, especially if one's an oc, but six characters that all sound the exact same? Feels like cloning up in here.

moar abuse, pls. Abusive parents or partners, mostly. every thread themed such that i start always go too vanilla for my tastes. sometimes i feel like the only person willing to properly play out that sort of stuff. non-con/rape i definitely feel like the only person willing to play out.

then again, i guess i only have myself to blame, considering that i don't really dare to advertise the fact that i like these sort of things.

my entire ship list is unpopular. even when it's canon, it's unpopular.

I'm always annoyed by that so few muses seem willing to be dominant in kink/smut threads, even though the vast majority of my own muses are submissives too. fml.

It's the strangest thing, I'm a total dom in real life, but I have mostly sub muses too. I don't know why this ended up being the case?

I'm too much of a pussy to politely refuse people I don't feel like playing with. I often end up with a bunch of threads I don't give a shit about but that I'm too polite to drop.

I mostly blame myself for this, but god, it makes me tired sometimes.

Right there with you. It makes me feel weird when pressures pop up from others to pick just one? I don't want things to work out so neatly and predictably like that all the time.

I'm mostly tagging cast mates now, because other people didn't bother to reply when I tagged them.

I want to tag more outside my canon, but what's the point when people ignore it?

I'm sorry other people have been this way. :( For my part, my muses are mostly from obscure canons, so I hardly ever see castmates and love it when I get crossover tags.

Sick of people who get burned by rpers holding their tongues to avoid drama because these jerks keep moving from person to person, treating them all the same and coming out smelling like roses.

I always reply tags. Sometimes I'll drop if the thread goes somewhere I'm not comfortable because I'm afraid of just talking it out OOCly.

I don't tag a lot because I don't know a lot about the fandoms I see. And the others are people I've tagged before and been ignored by.

If anybody's interested to know, I have the majority of the avengers cast and usually lean more towards m/m with the exception being natasha, darcy or sigyn because of reasons. Also play the two main guys from xmen first class. But what really upsets me is the fact that taggers aren't committed to the thread. The majority just reply one day and drop the thread the very next day so you can't really progress any storyline. Which is why I mostly stick to livejournal because people are more dedicated there on the memebells community. Dreamwidth is like a one night stand and livejournal is for people who are looking for a serious relationship with muses . WHY YES, I DID JUST MAKE THIS SOUND LIKE A DATING SEX PERSONAL.

Just a smidge of a rant there. And now to rp ideas! I really love plots that are influenced by songs. You know the kind of fanfics you read that are titled more or less as a fanmix or songrecs. It amazes me how nobody really has made a meme of this.

This! What is it with (some of the) players on DW and dropping threads? It's so frustrating.

I hate when people get huffy about ships. Memes, games, whatever I think people should be able to do what they want as long as they're a: having fun and b: in character or close to in character because you know, games and memes create some weird shenanigans that might not ever happen in canon.

crossovers and ships can be so much fun for both muns! what if i don't want to stick to the canon pairing? :| can't we all get along? obviously if the character is ooc then yeah but overall...

I will not tag you if your icons are of yourself/other RL people cosplaying your character.

I can't take a serious thread seriously if your icons are all poorly self-drawn to the point of looking outright doofy.

I will never understand why people app extremely popular characters with tons of official art/fan art/pre-made icons to choose from, and then unnecessarily go out of their way to find a downright unfitting PB that makes threading with them a jarring experience.

You're RPing Sephiroth. Why are you going out of your way to icon Justin Timberlake??? Makes no sense to me.

Yeah yeah, icons shouldn't matter, blah blah blah. But to me, there's a friggen limit.

Even if it's an icon of the correct character but a shot of the back of their head or some weird angle that doesn't show their face. If it was real life, I wouldn't be talking to the back of someone's head, why should my character have to do it?

I hate it when people post memes and don't use cuts. IMNSHO, if your meme requires scrolling at all you should put it behind a cut so that I can pass by it easily.

I don't get why people hate on it so much.

I love it too, but i can see why. A lot of people don't put a lot of thought into their rule 63s and they often end up just being some horrible caricature used for shipping, smut, or self-insert purposes. There's way more to explore in rule 63, but it does feel like people - especially some who are playing r63'd!guys - just go OH LOOK HOT PB ICONS DONE LETS GO TO A SMUT MEME.

The forbidden love meme needs to gtfo. It's posted way too much.

i've made a few rule 63 versions of female characters and i've enjoyed playing them. i don't understand why some people throw such a fit at the very idea of a male version of a female character when turning all the guys into supermodels is somehow perfectly okay.

oh jfc this is so simple. it's because of the erasure of female characters. context and history do actually matter, and female oppression and silencing by males is something that permeates every part of our culture. it's the same reason people rightfully get pissed when someone turns a gay character straight.

i'm definitely not going to tell anyone to stop rule 63ing, but people who do should be able to understand and respect why people get angry about it.

Lately it feels like I have to play from Hetalia or Homestuck to get any tags.

Also, what's with Plurk? Everyone was like, "You should TOTALLY get one, then we can plot together 8D" - seems more like people just posting running commentaries about how SHIT their lives are ("OHNOES I have to WORK."), how smart they are ("Look at all the cool references I made in my last post!") or how many tags they're getting (Don't get my started on tag-vana...)

Hetalia is still a thing? Pretty sure it's MCU that gets tags now.

I'm tired of seeing people request gen memes and non-shippy memes and Halloween memes and whatever other memes and then when memes fitting those requests are posted nobody tags into them.

Guys if you want the memes then post in them. And if the meme that gets posted doesn't quite fit what you want, maybe you should PM the meme maker and offer suggestions rather than bitching about how the memes all suck.

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion, though.

Random crack is my favorite.
