( the affectionate physical contact meme )

you love spending time with your significant other. but sometimes, just "spending time" with him/her isn't enough. you need to have your hands on each other every now and then.
➝ post your character below, with your character's name and series in the subject.
➝ tag other people, using an rng with range 1-8 to roll a scenario.
➝ roll as many times as you want, play out whatever you want
one; hugging. you just want to give your loved one a warm embrace. be it out of happiness, to comfort them while they're down, or just to give them something warm to latch onto, you just want to wrap your arms around them.
two; kissing. whether it's a peck on the cheek or a deep kiss, a kiss good-bye or a romantic kiss, you find yourself compelled to kiss the other person! be as tender or as passionate as you so choose.
three; holding hands. it's a simple gesture, really -- to reach out and take someone's hand. but that one simple gesture can convey any number of sentiments. what the sentiment is, is up to you, but you find yourself reaching out to take your significant other's hand.
four; carrying. is your loved one hurt and needs a lift? do they want a piggyback ride? or do you just want to spare them the effort of walking? whatever the reason, you're now itching to pick up your partner and carry them to their destination.
five; i love you. you've said it before or maybe you haven't but now you have to say it again or for the first time.
six; dancing. kick up the music, because it's time to dance! but no lone dancing allowed -- you need to have a partner! you can do whatever dance strikes your fancy. personally, i recommend the slow dance, but you can do whatever you want!
seven; massaging. did your significant other have a rough day? did they get hurt? or do you just feel like doing something really nice for them? whatever it is, you're giving them a nice massage now. they'll feel wonderful in no time!
eight; flirting. the easiest way to break the ice or maybe you're just an overly flirty person.
nine; cuddling. sometimes there's just no better feeling than curling up next to each other on a warm sofa. hold each other, lie next to each other, fall asleep on each other -- it's all good here.
ten; wild card! reroll, pick an option, or come up with something else!
listen i never mind being prompted for starters on memes ok
If there was a pattern to it, Connor would have processed it in his sleep. Filtered it out like the other noises, intermittent but predictable - opening and closing doors, people speaking in hushed voices. The normal sounds of a residential area that's asleep.
But these sounds don't hold a pattern, or familiarity, and so Connor opens his eyes on a room dark enough that his night vision is immediately activated. He still turns on the light nearby. He wonders if that's his human friend rubbing off on him.
Then he hears what woke him up.
Grinding. Whirring of a dozen little motors in an unpredictable pattern. Chaotic.
The light shows him that it's Lucky, over on the bed, laying right where the noises are coming from. And sure enough, Lucky's frame twitches just as the sounds reappear. Connor hasn't ever known Lucky to be violent. But he also hasn't ever seen an android do-- that. Except the deviants he'd hunted. Connor thinks of Carlos Ortiz's android bashing his face against the glass of his cell until his forehead cracked and oozed blue.
Connor is at Lucky's bedside immediately, and he reaches out to grab his shoulder, intent on rolling him onto his back so he can't accidentally - or purposefully - hit the wall that's so close beside him. ]
Lucky! It's Connor. I believe you're suffering from a malfunction of some kind - can you understand me?

He's in the workroom, there's a commotion. Scattering parts. He's throwing things. He commands it to come over and disassemble the android on the work table; it's still on as it stares up, looking lost, nothing but a torso on the table, opening its mouth to plead--

It's not fair. It's not fair -- she's still awake, she's fixable, he can save her, why won't he let him save her? 'Why won't you let me save her?'
He looks at him, horrified, but not with awe. Anger. 'Don't you dare disobey my orders, A--'

Lucky's audio processor picks up on a familiar voice -- but he doesn't identify the voice before he latches onto a word: malfunction.
No, she wasn't malfunctioning, I'm not malfunctioning, it's not a malfunction
Oral hardware online, calibration complete ]
No-- not a-- malfunction! [ Lucky's own voice startles himself awake, loud and internally sourced, glaring with a digital sounding grind. He bolts upright, eyes flung wide open and irises lit brightly in the dark, their LED readers spinning almost too fast to catch the patterning spin of their seams. ]

He also doubts Lucky's self-assessment. He doesn't think that Lucky wants to hear that, however. In a human, Connor would suspect a nightmare. The signs all point towards one.
In an android, what explains this? ] Alright, [ he says after a considering pause. His hands are still on Lucky's shoulders, gripped into the fabric of his shirt in Connor's attempt to keep Lucky away from the wall. ]
Are you aware of your current surroundings? [ To assess whether or not Lucky is still having a not-a-nightmare, of course. ]
