you love spending time with your significant other. but sometimes, just "spending time" with him/her isn't enough. you need to have your hands on each other every now and then.

one; hugging. you just want to give your loved one a warm embrace. be it out of happiness, to comfort them while they're down, or just to give them something warm to latch onto, you just want to wrap your arms around them.

two; kissing. whether it's a peck on the cheek or a deep kiss, a kiss good-bye or a romantic kiss, you find yourself compelled to kiss the other person! be as tender or as passionate as you so choose.

three; holding hands. it's a simple gesture, really -- to reach out and take someone's hand. but that one simple gesture can convey any number of sentiments. what the sentiment is, is up to you, but you find yourself reaching out to take your significant other's hand.

four; carrying. is your loved one hurt and needs a lift? do they want a piggyback ride? or do you just want to spare them the effort of walking? whatever the reason, you're now itching to pick up your partner and carry them to their destination.

five; i love you. you've said it before or maybe you haven't but now you have to say it again or for the first time.

six; dancing. kick up the music, because it's time to dance! but no lone dancing allowed -- you need to have a partner! you can do whatever dance strikes your fancy. personally, i recommend the slow dance, but you can do whatever you want!

seven; massaging. did your significant other have a rough day? did they get hurt? or do you just feel like doing something really nice for them? whatever it is, you're giving them a nice massage now. they'll feel wonderful in no time!

eight; flirting. the easiest way to break the ice or maybe you're just an overly flirty person.

nine; cuddling. sometimes there's just no better feeling than curling up next to each other on a warm sofa. hold each other, lie next to each other, fall asleep on each other -- it's all good here.

Dancing; before Thordak falls, ish....

[Things are horrible.

People are dying, dragons are flung to the corners of the world and causing all sorts of distress, amd there's an unreasonably untrustworthy dragon taking up residence in Whitestone. But nights like this, when the ale and wine flow heavily and there's food to go around, maybe one could pretend like it's maybe not so dreadful.

Whitestone proper is more prone to bouts of positivity than the castle (and always has been, honestly) and so that's where Vox Machina has run to tonight for some respite. Or, rather, booze. It's booze. Keyleth is predictablg far too drunk early in the evening, and so is Vax. They stick together for the night, hanging all over one another and making disgustingly cute faces while they categorize each other's good qualities. Grog is making excellent progress into what will probably be a barekuckly fight that Percy's going to have to pay for. And as for Vax, she's sidled up with him at the bar for some good gossip and gentle shit-talk about their friends. They both drink into the evening, talking about nothing in particular (except dragons, no dragons). It's nice, though. They rarely have time for nice.

There's a lull in conversation around midnight, one of those strange moments where the whole room pauses to take a breath. Percy's really starting to feel it now, not so drunk as to blackout, but at the point where he probably shouldn't be left alone in his workshop. But he's fine. Absolutely fine. He leans over to tell Vex just that, but catches her right when she whips around to look right at him as well.

Bloody hell, she's beautiful.

At this distance, he can see every little freckle, every lash. The marbled hazel of her eyes are remarkable, he notes, as is the delicate slope of her nose. He beaks her down to her barest parts in seconds, like she's a particularly intriguing machine he wants to learn inside and out.










And then the band picks up, and the moment snaps just like that.

Percy knows this tune, he realizes. It's an old one, a local waltz that's common in both Whitestone high society gatherings and the grimiest of pubs. Well, it had been common, once upon a time. He supposes it's been a good while since the populace has been able to play music so freely.]

Gods....[Percy grins then, all teeth and light for one rare moment.]...the last time I heard this song was when mother made us all take dancing lessons. Good lord, it's been....seven years now?

[ Perhaps the biggest cause for hesitation that Keiichi felt when he considered Mion as a girlfriend was that he was afraid their relationship would change, but looking back, it seems stupid for him to have worried in the first place. The replacement of the word best in best friend with the prefix girl- has had a considerable effect on their relationship, but not in any of the ways that he feared.

And one of those ways happens to be that, when they spend time together, they don't just play punishment games anymore. Sure, they're involved more often than they're not, and the range of available punishments has grown considerably, but tonight, nobody's going to get stuck wearing a ridiculous swimsuit or crawling around on all fours with a collar around their neck.

Probably.

With his parents out of town for the weekend thanks to yet another last minute client needing his dad's services, there's nothing keeping her from spending as long as she wants at his house, at least on his end. And since they have nothing but time, why not put in a movie?

He wasn't sure what she'd bring over, and he'd briefly considered the possibility that she might bring something more educational in nature just to watch him squirm. It's probably a credit to her cleverness that, even as the opening credits roll (and presumably to some foreign movie he's pretty sure hasn't even come out yet, at that), he almost expects the tape to cut out to something else entirely.

But that doesn't stop him from settling in on the couch next to her, taking the initiative to drape an arm around her and urge her toward his shoulder. It's not like they have to worry about anyone seeing them here. ]

I'm probably better off not knowing how you managed to get a copy of this...
