Woke Up In Jail

[ WOKE UP IN JAIL ]

Where are you? Why is your bed so hard? Why is someone peeing right by your head?
Oh right. Because you got pinched last night. Welcome to the slammer, baby.

• Enjoy the confusion.

Reason(s) you're in jail:

1. Indecent Exposure
Nobody wanted to watch you strut around with everything hanging out, and someone called you on it. Hope they gave you a jumpsuit or you're going to be prison eye candy.

2. Drunk and disorderly conduct
"Wassat, occifer? No... I'm not dru-*hic* drunk. I'm unner the legal limit. Wooo!" No, no you're not. You're way over. Sleep it off, buddy.

3. Vandalism
Oh, you naughty thing. You got busted stealing that 'Chickens X-ing' sign. Or was it drawing boobs on the drive-thru clown? Either way, tsk tsk.

4. B&E
Apparently your friend didn't think you kicking in his window to sneak in and leave him a 'present' was as good of an idea as you thought it was. Well, no love for HIM. *hmph*

5. Grand Theft Auto
The car was BEGGING to go for a ride. It called to you with its sireny car-call. And you just had to answer. If it hadn't been for the damn spike belt...

6. Kidnapping
Trust me, there are better ways to get money to pay for your Bieber concert tickets.

7. Murder
Talk about being caught red handed. You got caught red armed. And faced. And front. You're messy.

8. Any/all of the above
Ooooh... You've been REALLY naughty, haven't you? Actually, you kind of scare me.

Relationship of the person tagging:

1. Cohort in Crime.

2. Person coming to bail you out. (or not)

3. Jailer/Warden.

It's cause I made the wrong face...oh god. *Facepalm*

Before she could even ask anything he had jerked his arm away from her. Charisa's brow knitting together slightly as she pulls her hand back through the bars, trying to get over the feel of the cold plastic her fingers had come in touch with.

"Fine." She let go of the bar she had held onto the entire time and moved back toward the door, to go fill out the paperwork needed to get Lindsey out.

Stopping in the doorway she gave him a glance over her shoulder. "What happened to you?" She's of course meaning the hand, though she doesn't outright say it.

Sometimes, things needed to be spelled out before the answer could be achieved. Specific statements targeting a specific answer to avoid loopholes, and even then they may still exist sometime.

A general question like that? Lindsey brushed it off easy enough.

"I am being held in prison for an accusation that was falsely made based on the word of a man," he used that term very loosely when referring to Angel, "who cannot be depended on. Will you please get me out of here?"

"That wasn't what I meant," her tone seemed a big colder as she eyed his hand before moving through the doors to go post bail. The paperwork was simple enough, but she took her time on purpose filling it out.

With a groan she posted the money, having to write a check that about killed her but, she knew Lindsey would pay her back.

Once the papers were turned over she moved back to the cell and stared at him. "There, somebody should be in soon to let you out."

Lindsey's demeanor didn't change much, but the breath he let out was an obvious sigh of relief. He could call Wolfram and Hart, planned to really, but it was very different to call them requesting for help as opposed to merely informing them of a problem and that he was working on the solution.

"Thank you," Lindsey said, surprisingly sincere after being informed of the situation.

"Charisa... It's good to see you again." It was, and although Lindsey never intended to contact her again if not for this sticky situation he got himself in, he was glad that he did. At least he knew he could still rely on someone to get him out of jail.

The woman moved right over to the bars and placed her hands against them while staring at Lindsey, she hadn't wanted to post bail but, as long as he paid her back they wouldn't have a problem.

"You owe me," the words came out in a bit of an annoyed hiss as she glanced down when he spoke again.

"You're only saying that caused I bailed your ass out of jail Lindsey."

Lindsey's smile back wasn't so genuine anymore. It was back to business, the lawyer taking over.

"I will write you a check," he answered smoothly, therefore ending that brief sincerity that she didn't seem to have picked up on anyway. Too bad, it had been nice between them while it lasted.

"Maybe I was. Now, would you prefer to pick it up or should I have it sent through mail?"

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-10-29 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll stop by the office and pick it up."

Charisa went silent afterwards suddenly wondering why the words came out the way they did, she was going to tell him to mail the damn thing and then her mouth came up with some different on the spur of the moment it seemed.

After that coolness, her response surprised him, but Lindsey accepted it without question.

"It will be ready for pick-up tomorrow morning," he confirmed, calmer now that he knew he was getting out. "I will leave it with Janet. She's my new secretary."

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-10-30 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"You seem to go through secretaries like a person goes through clean underwear." She mused before giving him a slight nod.

Charisa slipped away from the cell as one of the officers made his way inside, keys out to unlock the cell and let Lindsey out.

"You're free to go Mr. McDonald."

As Lindsey said, he had the check written out and left to Janet early next day. Since he had spent the night at the office after heading home to wash up briefly, and was sprawled asleep on his desk shortly after he handed Janet his check. It had been a very long night.

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-11-03 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Charisa was thankful he had kept his word, after taking the check from Janet she waited for the woman to go back to work before she slipped into her ex's office to find him sprawled asleep on the desk. A faint smile touched her lips as she slipped the check into her back pocket and watched him for a second.

Lindsey stirred slightly when the door to his office opened, but he didn't wake but merely murmured something and shifted. He was exhausted. Shifting again, he shivered and tried to pull his jacket tighter around himself.

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-11-04 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
As he shivered she turned her eyes toward the couch in the office and walked over, pulling the blanket that was draped over the back off before moving over to Lindsey. Carefully, Charisa slipped the blanket over him hoping it wouldn't wake him.

Charisa's movement wasn't light enough though. As soon as the blanket draped over him, he blinked and drearily opened his eyes. "...risa?" He murmured, still asleep enough to not be able to tell if this was a dream or reality.

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-11-06 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Silently cursing herself she moved back from Lindsey and placed a hand on his desk staring at him for a moment. "Didn't mean to wake you. You looked cold."

[personal profile] hellsbestlawyer 2012-11-09 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Feel cold," Lindsey muttered back in response. He sat up straighter and dragged his good hand over his face. "What're you... oh, the check." He looked as haggard as he sounded too.

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-11-09 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, least he had the blanket around him now. Though she had a feeling it wouldn't help too terribly much. "Yeah," she replied while tapping her back pocket where she had slipped the check while looking him over. "Lindsey, you really need some serious rest."
hellsbestlawyer: (Emotional Distress //)

[personal profile] hellsbestlawyer 2012-11-10 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Couldn't," he answered tiredly. Sitting up completely, the blanket slipped off him and he turned to pick it up. He glanced from it to Charisa, but didn't comment. "After the fiasco from last night, I had to contain the situation." He looked exhausted though, he felt about as bad.

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-11-12 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Arms folded under her chest while she watched his tired form, a faint sigh passing her lips while she shook her head slightly. "I see you contained it real well." She couldn't help the sarcasm that slipped though she felt bad about it.

[personal profile] hellsbestlawyer 2012-11-13 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
"As a matter of fact, I did," he snapped, responding to the sarcasm before he remembered who was in the room with him. He was so tired and so used to answering Lilah like that that for a moment he thought he saw Lilah standing where Charisa was. The moment passed and he blinked in mild surprise to find his ex there.

He deflated quickly. "I need a cup of coffee..." He got up to make it himself, but stopped when he remembered she was still in the office with him. "You want anything?"

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-11-13 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Her eyes narrowed upon the man slightly before she shook her head slightly, eyes soon casting down to her feet as she allowed the mild snap to just run off her like water. Charisa shifted a bit to follow after him though, soon stopped thinking better of it.

"I would but, I should really get going."

[personal profile] hellsbestlawyer 2012-11-13 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
Lindsey blinked then shook his head. Right, they broke up already. "Yeah, you probably should." Yawning, he tried to get his coffee machine to work, and his expression tightened as he needed to use his prosthetic to close the lid. He quickly switched to back to his other hand to push at the buttons.

"I trust you still remember the way out."

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-11-13 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
Her eyes shifted over to watch him fiddle with the coffee machine in his office, lips parting to offer help but instead she just kept silent before taking a step back toward the door.

"Unless it's recently changed, yes I do remember the way out."

Charisa's tone went a bit soft before she turned to move toward the door, hand slipping into her back pocket to make sure the check was still tucked away.

Lindsey nodded, holding his tongue this time from saying anything particularly foolish or sentimental. It was over between them, and it was an ugly ending at that. But, if he had to say something...

"Thanks for dropping by."

The coffee machine started producing its ambrosia and Lindsey tiredly, gratefully, turned towards it.

[personal profile] captainsosa 2012-11-13 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Risa had nothing to say in response. Instead she just grabbed the door handle and pushed it open allowing herself access out of his office and into the small hallway before letting the door close.
