However, he thought little about his situation when Noctis found himself in harms way and without hesitation, Ignis ran to his defense, taking a hit before slashing out with his daggers.

Suddenly, a brilliant haze fell over him, clouding his ability to think clearly. And more importantly, distinguish friend from foe. His fingers twitched, even as they clutched his trademark daggers, and his green eyes darted back and forth, his confused state causing him to see danger everywhere.

He grunted, his startled eyes catching sight of Cor, who had been assisting them on their latest hunt.

The fog itself comes and goes, but this time when it passes it leaves behind something new. Creeping tendrils of something dark and mossy cling to walls and fill cracks in the sidewalks; it encrusts tree trunks like a strange new lichen and weaves in between the barnacles on the docks. Strange, a little bit icky, but seemingly innocuous.

Until the sun begins to set, a couple days later, and the moss blooms. The air fills with fine dusty spores and a musty smell of leaf rot as one by one the growths release their payload.


Which brings us to Red, staggering like a drunk somewhere in the vicinity of downtown Vandare. She knows she should get to the water. She's going in entirely the opposite direction to the water.
