THE END - the afterlife meme

the afterlife meme
You're at the end. you've kicked the bucket. you've passed on. the point is you're dead. And however that end came out it's time for you to face the afterlife. Where will you go? Who will you meet? How old are you? What was your end like?
It's time to meet your end.
i. HEAVEN - Nirvana, Shangri La, Elysium, either way your good life has paid off and you are now paid off with eternal happiness.
1) PEACEFULLY. You died at peace, you've done all you can with your time and you came to your natural end. Now it's time to meet with those who left you behind.
2) A HERO. You died a hero. Celebrated by many. It's only fair that you get to rest.
3) TOO SOON. You died too soon, perhaps an innocent victim of some villain, or in an accident. However one thing is for certain, you shall rest peacefully here.
4) A VICTIM. A victim of a horrible circumstance, a painful death. Either way your end wasn't pleasant.
5) GUILT. You don't feel you deserve to be here. Not with all the suffering that's left behind, with your actions. Others should be here. Not you.
6) WILDCARD. Anything and everything else.
ii. HELL - Brimstone and fire. Tortured until the end of time. This is the "bad" place to end up. At least you may run into some interesting people.
1) A THE TOP. You died at the top, everyone suffering, the world at your feet. And yet look at where you are now.
2) JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS. You were just following orders. Doing what your superiors told you to do... and yet here you are.
3) DEFEATED. Unfortunately the "good guys" won, spoiling your plans. Everything you had hoped for was toppled over.
4) GUILT. Now is the best time to repent and reflect on the evil you have caused....
5) SURPRISE. No good deed goes unpunished. Perhaps what you thought was the right thing to do was really the wrong path. Maybe you had been misled. Whatever happened, you ended up here now.
6) WILDCARD. Anything and everything else.
iii. SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN - Perhaps your in purgatory.... or in the final crossroads before you and others who have passed on must part. However, you're somewhere in between...
1) FINAL GOODBYE. One last meeting between friends, enemies. Just passing spirits.
2) FIRST MEETING IN A WHILE. It's been long. Way too long.
3) I CAME TO FIND YOU. You have fought through heaven and hell to see this person. To try and find them.
4) VISITATION. Perhaps you were both allowed a visitation between two different realms
5) WILDCARD. Anything and everything else.
iv. WILDCARD - Anything and everything in between. Any scenario, afterlife, situation that you could possibly imagine.

Family over everything.
Little sister. Becks.
Oh.
The one Mick would only talk about when he was roaring drunk and drowning in guilt. Leonard had maybe heard the name two or three times over thirty years but he knows what that name means to Mick.
"Becky Rory."
His jaw snaps shut. "Mick's sister."
no subject
She may have kept tabs on her big brother, but that didn't mean she knew or saw everything. "So... he talked about me?" She can't help the falter in her voice, or the hopeful glint in her eyes.
no subject
But he gets it, what a little sister and a big brother mean to one another and it breaks his goddamn heart because Mick so rarely talked about her, about how much he loved her and how much losing her devastated him.
"When he could," he allows. "It.. it wasn't a time your brother was all that fond of talking about."
He knows in his heart though, that if Mick could give anything, it would be to see his little sister again.

"He's got Raymond now. Sara. He'll be all right." At least he hopes so. He has to believe that.

Her own opinions of the guy may not be that high, but she's seen it in every goddamn interaction between them she's watched, in subtle movements and inflections in Mick's voice, in choices he makes, everything-- Mick is undeniably, unequivocally, down to the marrow in his bones, in love with fucking Leonard Snart.

"I did what I did to save his life, to keep him from making a terrible mistake."

"And I'm not saying he isn't strong." she says, before this cagey assholes goes and twists her words around. He was fond of playing those kind of word games, she's seen it before. "But they aren't you. Do you even fucking realize what you mean to him?" There's a beat and she's utterly incredulous, "I'm dead and I can see it!"
She nods a little, though it's more an acknowledgment than it is an acceptance of his words. "Uh-huh. Keep telling yourself that it was that selfless. But you aren't. Never have been anything even vaguely shaped like selfless, for anyone, have you? Not even my brother. Not really. Mostly just when it suited you."

She might be his sister, she might have watched them, but she has no idea what Mick means to him. He had been Leonard's entire world, his rock, his touchstone. His gaze could always flick to the left and Mick would always, always be there. Sure they'd fight, they'd argue bitterly and Leonard would lash out with words rather than his fists because he swore he would never wind up like his old man and hit people in anger, but they always came back to one another.
Mick was always the stronger one. The one who could always find it in himself to walk away when Leonard never could. No matter how cold and indifferent he tried to be, he never had the strength to walk away from Mick.
His jaw twitches. "There wasn't time to do anything else but save his life. I had to go back for him. I had to."

She marches over to him and shoves his shoulders, "Fuck you!" she shouts, her hands dropping back to fold across her stomach, tears swelling in her eyes. Her voice drops to just barely above a whisper. "And thank you..."

There. Have the truth Becky.
Leonard Snart did not die a hero.
He died because he was a coward and couldn't comprehend living in a world that didn't have Mick Rory in it.

RoryandSnart.
He's lost times now how many times even their names wound up tangled together because where you saw one, the other was never far behind.
"He.. he was always the one strong enough to walk away," he offers lamely. "I never could. Not once." Sure he could push and prod and all but drive Mick away but when it came right down to it? He couldn't.
"He can be so much better than I was."

His Mick.

Mick will be okay.
He'll struggle, he'll falter, but he has good people around him. People that had better damn well take care of him or he'll find some way to break out of the afterlife for the express purpose of kicking their asses.
Mick will be okay because he's stronger than Leonard ever could be.
The silence stretches on for a long moment.
"So. Do I get a tour? Or at least a rundown on how you've been watching Mick?" Because he'll want to know. The curiosity will drive him crazy.

A smirk slides across her face. "Yeah, come on," she makes a vague 'follow me' motion with her hand. She wanders through the blank canvas of the place and slowly, it all forms into a familiar country road that sat just outside the main highway leading into Central City. A short distance ahead is an old house in the middle of too many acres of land to count. If he's seen the pictures in the papers, Leonard might even recognize it.
"I don't really know how it works," she admits as she leads the way up the front porch steps of her old house. "it just sort of does." she throws the screen door open and marches inside, dragging him to the living room. "It's kind of dumb, but it really works," she explains as she flips the tv on.
"Whoever you wanna see, it shows you," she shrugs a little. "but he's kinda all I got, so he's all it'll show me."

The image on the television makes something crack and shatter inside his chest and he sits on the couch with a small breath. "Oh. Oh Mick." Oh no. Where are the others? Why aren't they taking care of him? Where the fuck is everyone?
Come on partner.
no subject
"I told you," she says quietly, looking more at the man beside her than the one on the tv screen. "you were his whole world..."
no subject
It twists his heart into knots to see his partner so defeated, so exhausted. Drinking when he doesn't really want to. It's just habit now. Leonard kneels down, fingertips brushing the old glass television screen.
He has to get back.
He can't let it end like this.
Leonard Snart has broken out of every prison that ever tried to hold him.
He'll break out of this one.
Mick needs him.
"Tell me everything you know about this place. Everything you've learned. Don't spare the details."

"If there is a way in, there's a way out. There was a time people thought time travel is impossible and look at where your brother is now."
Oh no.
He won't stand for Mick being alone like this. Just let the damned universe try and stop him.
