You don't give up, do you? [She sounds more bewildered than anything else] Why do you want a dog so badly, anyway?

No. [Giving up means accepting defeat, and he likes to get what he wants.] I've never had one before. So why not?

[We just went over why not, she wants to say, but something stops her. It isn't her place to bring him down] You'd get bored with it after a week.

[outdoes]

[He thinks about that for a second, and although he's still mostly smiling, it's lost its giddy edge to it. No, he wouldn't get bored with it. But Eli does know that his powers will come into play over it.] I don't think I would.

[She doesn't know him well enough to note the differences in his smiles, not yet] You say that now, but we'll be walking down the street some time in the future and you'll see an eight-legged cathorse or something and that dog will be gone from your mind.

[That startles a laugh out of her. She ducks her head, hiding her smile] I sense that you really don't want to know.

Not really. [He jerks his head after one last look at the puppies.] The city?

[For a moment she hesitates. He is very clearly interested in the puppies, after all. But then she reminds herself that he's had years and years to investigate this city, whereas it's all still new to her. She gestures away from the pet shop] Do they sell food in this place?

[outdoes]

[Aaaand just like that, he's all smiles and excitement again, taking long strides away from the window display and rounding a corner. You clearly need to follow him, Amelia.] That depends on what you're in the mood for.

[foredoes]

Wh - hey! [She is very short, and those long strides means she has to run to catch up. It's kind of cute.] I'm in the mood for not being abandoned in the middle of citizen central, for one. [She very carefully keeps him between her and the rest of the city, not wanting to hurt someone accidentally if they bumped into her]

[outdoes]

I wasn't abandoning you. I was walking. [C'mon, Amelia. There is a huge difference here!!]

[foredoes]

[She waves a hand to indicate her height, or lack there of. And then she stands on her tiptoes and waves the same hand at his approximate height] Your walk is my run.

[outdoes]

Oh. [He laughs then, shrugging his shoulders. His pace does decrease a faction, though.] Why didn't you say anything earlier?

[foredoes]

[She huffs out something like relief when he slows down, before retorting] Why didn't you notice?

[outdoes]

Because you didn't say anything. [8Db]

Maybe you should pay more attention to things outside yourself. [She is making the exact face in her icon]

[He pauses, turning to look at her and blinking.] I can't read minds, you know.

[His words give her pause, but ultimately that just means she forges ahead with her argument. Amelia doesn't like being wrong] You also can't notice someone having to take two steps to your every one, apparently.

[Man, he genuinely feels bad for it. But still...] Well, you're... kind of small. I can't shorten my legs up.

[Opening her mouth and then shutting it again. She turns slightly red and crosses her arms over her cehst] I'm not that small. [Yes she is]

[Looking down at her.] Yeah you are.

[Her leg twitches a little like she's going to kick him, but she restrains herself] Maybe you're just unreasonably tall!
