Normally, Charisa wasn't really one to fawn over cute, little fluffy animals and yet as she sat on the floor in Bruce's lab with a small kitten she seemed to be a completely different person. The little, dirty kitten was on it's back with its paws swiping at the finger that was hovering over it.

"You are just too damn adorable," she smiles softly as two little paws wrap around her finger and bring it down to nibble upon with a triumphant 'mew'.

How do you feel about raising lab mice for science and naming them over coffee?

[Toni nudges the laboratory door open with one hip. She's in half-undone business attire, her suit jacket over one arm and a cardboard box under the other, sunglasses pinning back her long hair. She's all smiles as she comes over to a clear spot on the worktable and sets her cargo down.]

She was lying on her stomach in bed, the month old puppy was rolling around beside her happy as a clam. There was a small part of her that figured Clint wouldn't be terribly happy that she got a dog but, she couldn't let the little guy be put down.

Sliding fingers through her hair Charisa smiled while grabbing a small toy rope from under her and held it out for the puppy. He gathered it in his teeth and went to pull and tug while backing toward the corner of the bed.

Barton wasn't sure what drew him to the alley on his way back from the recon mission. He should have been riding back with the rest of the SHIELD agents, but ever since the Battle for Manhattan, Clint had been drawing progressively further away from his teammates and friends.

He had left on his own with the excuse of needing some fresh air. And it was true. Even if he had not been getting the looks, the brush offs, the obvious cutback on solo or high-security jobs, Clint still would have felt like he was suffocating. There was too much guilt still, and something more. Something far worse.

That didn't matter right at this moment, though. It had been months since the incident, with no sign of Loki, and no further serious fights for The Avengers. Clint was going mad with boredom, because it left his mind to wander like it had been doing tonight, and that got in the way of his focus. He needed a clear head to be at his best, and he had not had that since Natasha knocked his and knocked Loki out of it.

When he caught sight of the black cat in the alley, something pulled him to it. Something he could not describe. He had crouched down at the far end of the alley the moment he caught the flash of green eyes and had just... waited there. Watching. His hand in his pocket, digging out the only thing he had with him. A rice krispie bar.

"You look lost." About as lost as Clint felt. He was supposed to just leap right back into the way things were, so why wasn't it happening? "You all alone out here, pal?"

[They're walking in the city together, Bethany off at her job in the library. Still not used to the blatant rule-breaking she's engaging in, Amelia is a little tense, lagging behind Elijah as he leads her through the unfamiliar twists and turns, taking her to places he thinks she'll be interested in. He misses more than he gets it right, but she doesn't mention that - the whole place is so alien to her that she wouldn't know where to go on her own anyway.

Occasionally they come across something she recognises from a sim, and she tenses up a little more. But surely they wouldn't have been allowed to actually leave if there was any danger of being attacked?]
