The Body Heat Meme



Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

[Now how dangerous could a thirteen year old be? Okay scratch that. Jeile knew that he did not look like much, but he could certainly hurt others if he wanted to. He did not want to however. Went out of his way to protect and help those weaker then him actually.]

I don't want to fight. I just want to get away from the storm.

[Brushing the snow off his clothes, Jeile took half a step further into the cabin. He had no intention to head back outside and a fire was so nicely burning in the fireplace, heating the inside of the cabin up. He wanted to step closer, but it was for the best to wait until the other accepted that he wasn't a threat.]

[ It really doesn't take much to convince Naruto. He's either an idiot, overly powerful or both. It's probably both. ]

Oh. Well. In that case.

[ Naruto picks up the cloak he'd thrown aside and thrusts it out in his hand to the stranger, smile brightening up the room almost as well as the fire. ]

I'm Uzumaki Naruto. Take this, it'll keep you warm, an' it's nice and dry. Ya can sit by the fire too, if ya want.

[That sure was a fast switch in attitude. Jeile wasn't complaining however. He could understand that the other would be vary around a stranger after all and in this weather shelter meant everything.]

Ah, thank you.

[He took the cloak with a polite bow and small smile in thanks, moving over to the fire immediately. Merciful spirits how he needed that.]

I am Jeile Astale Ei Daemonia Eucharistia. It is nice to make your acquaintance.

[Wrapped up in the cloak, that was far too big on him, Jeile held out his red frozen hands towards the flames and looked over at Naruto a slight bit of concern in his eyes.]

Are you fine like that? It is your cloak, it would not be right of me to have it if you need it.

I've been in here for ages now, y'know, I'm warm enough as is. [ He shrugs. ] Ain't much use in me usin' it when you've just been out in the cold and probably need it more right now.

[ He comes over to sit on a rather flat looking cushion at the side of the fire, spreading his legs out so the heat of the fire found his toes and warmed them. ]

That's a fancy name, do you uh-- [ He squints a bit, either embarrassed or confused. ] Do ya have a name that's easier to remember?

If you are sure.

[Jeile would keep an eye on the other. If he showed signs of being cold then he would give the cloak back. Or argue for a compromise.

Having his complex name pointed out earned a small laugh that he covered with his hand. Fancy yes, but equally complicated.]

Jeile, you can call me Jeile.

Jeile. [ Naruto nods, looking pleased. ] I can do that. You can call me Naruto.

[ Despite clearly being a teenager, Naruto has a certain youthfulness about him that puts him on a level where he's comfortable being around Jeile. It's hard for him to deal with adults, after all, just out of sheer reflex. So he hitches his pillow a little closer, and leans in to peer at is new companion. ]

How'dya get stuck out in the snow, huh? You ain't dressed for it. Are ya from somewhere else, y'know?

Naruto. [Jeile gave a nod in return.

It should not take too long for Naruto to find out that Jeile, despite just having become a teenager acted maturely for his age. In most cases. He had times of being childish just like any other young teen.]

Ah, that... [Jeile let out a small sheepish laugh.] I might have looked through these sealed away texts and then tried to perform them and messing up a bit. My intention was not to get stuck here. I don't even know where here is.

[ Naruto blinks. He understood maybe.. a few words in what Jeile just said, but he's not about to let this new companion in on the fact that he's pretty much a total dunce, so he just nods slowly. ]

Well. I'm on my way to the hidden village just a little while away from here, but I had to stop 'cause of the weather, y'know. When the snow clears we can get ya there, and see if anyone can help get you home. Sound good?

[To boil it down to its core, he had been curious and careless. There was such a thing as too advanced information for his young age.

At least he was being offered help and while he doubted anyone could help get him home it certainly would be better to follow Naruto to a place with people compared to wandering around on this mountain alone.]

Don't mention it.

[ He beams again, then a shudder ripples through him as a particularly strong gust of snowy wind batters the outside of the small wooden cabin, making the fire burn just a little lower and making Naruto suddenly aware of how cold it's getting. He usually burns pretty warm no matter what - being the host to a firey sentient mass of energy will do that to you - but he's concerned about his new companion. ]

Are ya feelin' warm enough in that blanket?

[That was a strong wind that sent a shiver down his body. Not so much because of that he felt cold, more in the lines of him imagining how cold it must be outside. Jeile knew that if he still would be outside then he would have collapsed around this point.]

I am warm enough, but is the fire truly enough to warm you properly? We can share the cloak.

[He wasn't used to being that close to most people, but this was about keeping warm and pulling through this storm. His own personal comfort could take a step back then.]

Eh, I'm okay, I guess... [ He's wearing his jumpsuit which is keeping him pretty warm, but his pants are short on his legs and his shoes have those trademark gaps at the toes, and he can feel the chilled air creeping in against his skin. He supposes he could be warmer.

He looks back at Jeile. ]

Are you sure?

[Jeile had a small pout on his otherwise concerned face. Don't say your fine when you are not! There is nothing wrong with asking for help when it was needed. Or in this case asking to share the only piece of clothing they had that could help keeping them warm.]

I am. It should be big enough to cover us both.

[And if it wasn't he could always change that.]

[ Naruto looks uncertain. It's not that he doesn't trust Jiele - there's something about him that settles any uncertainty Naruto might have had and Naruto is generally just quite a trusting person to begin with - but he does have a little difficulty in admitting any kind of weakness, even one such as my feet are starting to get cold. ]

Hhmm... Okay..

[ He shuffles closer, hitching his knees up and waiting for Jiele to share the blanket. ]

[The pout faded and gave room for a smile, Jeile moving even closer so that they were sitting shoulder against shoulder and unwrapped himself from the cloak so he could drape it over them both. He had warmed up a significant bit already from being outside.]

Is it covering you enough?

[ It kind of only covers his shoulder and a bit of his leg, and he feels kind of bad tugging on it to retrieve any more, so he just kind of exhales in a slightly frustrated way. He's not frustrated with Jeile, of course, more their situation. ]

Not really. It's a cloak, after all, I don't think it's gonna be big enough.

Give me a moment.

[Jeile moved away from under the cloak and pulled up a piece of chalk from his pocket. With it he drew a circle on the floor and added some symbols to it. Looking over his drawing, he gave a nod and turned back to Naruto.]

I will take the cloak for just a second.

[True to his words, he took the cloak and put it in the center of the circle and held out his hand over it, mumbling words that to Naruto probably held no meaning. It all might look a bit strange and even stranger it had to be when the cloak started to grow in size.]

[ Naruto is incredibly confused for a long moment, watching Jeile closely and wondering if perhaps this guy is crazy after all.. And then the cloak starts growing and he flails backwards as if he thinks it's about to bite him. Amazed and maybe even a little disbelieving despite seeing it right infront of his nose, he gasps. ]

Woah-- are you magic or somethin'?

[Jeile did not give an answer, still mumbling. Once the cloak had at least doubled in size he stopped with it and lowered his hand.]

Yes.

[It was a short and simple answer. He was magic. Magic had been a part of his whole life and he excelled in it, especially considering his age.]

[ He's probably seen a jutsu or two before with abilities similar to this - Chouji could increase his body size, this is kind of similar to that - but he's never seen anything quite so intricate as the performance Jeile just showed him.

He's also never met anyone literally magic. It's all about chakra and channelling it where he comes from. He blinks. ]

What, seriously? [ He exhales. ] That's really cool.. I guess that's how you got here, huh?

[Perhaps chakra and magical energy were similar to one another, just used differently. Jeile did not know. He had not gotten an explanation over how powers here worked, or if there even was any to begin with.]

That is correct. The magic I used is considered forbidden, but I need to learn those spells if I want to become stronger.

[Jeile picked up the now fairly large cloak into his arms, the fabric overflowing. It would be enough to properly cover the both of them up now without a problem.]

This should be enough, right?

Mhm! [ Naruto shifts a little bit closer to take the cloak and wrap it around both of their shoulders. He keeps himself close to Jeile anyway, though, just because sharing an item of clothing and getting close in the hopes of keeping the cold out seems to make the most sense to him. His hands are still warm, as they usually are, so he wraps his hands around his cold toes as he sits. ]

I don't get the point of stuff bein' forbidden, y'know. My best jutsu was forbidden too, before I learned it, an' I don't see a reason for it really. 'Cos like ya said, it made me stronger.

[ He's leaving out the part where his jutsu would probably kill a normal person if they used it to the extent that he does.... but in his defence he's probably forgotten that. ]

As I gather it something becomes forbidden because it is too dangerous in one way or another.

[That was not to say that harmless spells could not be dangerous as well if used incorrectly, or like him combining them into something new. The spell he had created just a few weeks ago was considered a forbidden one.

Jeile shifted a bit closer to Naruto, even if they now could keep a themselves a bit apart. The warmth of being close to another however was much more important here.]

Then we have the spells that are simply considered too advanced for my age, that I will have to wait for before I will get the permission to learn them.

S'not dangerous to me. Just other people, I guess. But that's the whole point. [ He shrugs, shifts up his knees and wraps his arms around them. ]

Though I guess.. usin' up as much chakra as I do could be bad. An' I guess there's plenty of ways other people could use it in bad ways.. [ His voice turns to a murmur, and then to silence before he looks back at Jeile. ]

Then you are considered an exception to the rule.

[Dangerous for most, but not him. Jeile could recognize parts of that within himself. Sure he could get harmed by a spell just like any other, but he did have a certain eye for magic. It came so easily to him. Well the understanding of it at least. He still had to study.]
