Kiss of the Vampire Vampires tend to have a lot of sex appeal. It may be because eEvil Is sexy for some, but not all vampires are evil, so maybe it's because they're bad boys or sultry femme fatales. Maybe people just figure hundreds of years of practice at love making makes vampires really, really good at it. On the other hand, tThe bloodsucking may be a great fetish source, something about a quick sting of pain followed by pleasure. When a vampire is hungry and isn't quite so decent or hard up as to lower himself to only buying blood at the butcher's or trapping and draining small animals instead, their dietary supplement of preference is human blood. It was just an average job, that's all it was supposed to be and Derek ended up 'dying' because of it. That his entire world would be flipped upside down in a matter of minutes because someone attacked him from behind on his way back to his car and bit his neck, taking mercy enough on him to let him live when he crumbles in their touch. His body weaker than he's ever felt before as they keep him close, laying him in their lap as they crouch with him in tow.

"Can't let a pretty face like that go to waste, now can we?" They said, pressing their wrist to his mouth, he can smell cooper before he feels blood against his lips. His vision too blurry to make out his attacker's face. Some deeply buried self-hatred tell him that he shouldn't accept this, whatever this even is. That he should just die in this person's arms and call this the last chapter in his story. He always told himself that he was running on borrowed time anyway.

But he weakly raises his arm to press their gift closer, running his tongue over their wound as he sucks on it, feeling the blood trickle down his throat. He couldn't leave this world yet, he had people waiting for him back home now. Dmitri, the trio, Christian but most importantly, Gabriel. He doesn't want to imagine just how wrecking his death would be for him. If he never came home.

It doesn't take long before a warmth pools in his stomach before a sudden burning sensation causes him to push the stranger's arm away and wrap his own arms around his stomach as he curls up on himself, falling out of the stranger's lap.

There's a voice through his struggling, close to his ear as a hand is placed on his arm, "Welcome to your new life, darling. Treat it well and know that you can use that boyfriend of yours as a snack if you need to. There isn't a blood type that's out of bounds for us." And then the hand is gone, "I'll be keeping an eye on you like I've always done. You'll know where it find me if you need to." They say before placing a kiss on his cheek and they're gone as fast as they appeared.

Derek kicks and thrashes as the change takes over him, his canines growing longer and sharper than they used to be. He doesn't know how long he's like that for but eventually, the pain dulls away, leaving him panting on the pavement as he lays there, trying to process what just happened.

When Valryn descends to the underground chamber, an old and vast wine cellar long since emptied and left to stagnate in the chilly dark under the earth's skin, it's for the second time this evening. It's been a couple hours since he returned to his abode with his spoils, unconscious and vulnerable as he carried him down below. The induced temporary sleep will lift soon, the man due to awaken and discover his new whereabouts; Valryn has been waiting, ever so patiently.

The hunger to take the man immediately, there in the forest as he laid in the bed of dead leaves, was nearly uncontrollable -- but too dangerous to heed. No, Valryn has plans for this one. Royal blood... A risk to keep as a ward, safer to kill and pose out in the wilderness, mask under some other false disaster -- but this turned drow is a selfish one, almost gleefully so. If it is to be his undoing, then he wouldn't have it any other way.

The passing wait was made easier with task, one that becomes clear with observation: Valryn does not cross through the converted cellar empty handed. Naturally he has no use for light, but he holds a lit candle in a holder for not his sake, but for another's. His other hand carries a tray, with a plate and goblet -- all of these heirlooms from the past generations of ownership to this grand mansion -- and all once again, not for him.

He stops within sight range of the sleeping human, but it's not what he sees, it's what he hears: a steady, slow heartbeat, one that had beat so fast and firm for so brief a time that the pace of it now is almost a tease to Valryn's ears. He sets the tray on an old, empty barrel, before continuing forth with the candle closer to the captive. The vampire is careful to step around the chains on the floor, ones that snake and wind across the stones until they reach up to two pale wrists, clasped to solid shackles that find their origins bolted into the floor.

Valryn kneels to the motionless form, grazes a few knuckles against the man's forehead, pushing a few stray curls back from his serene visage. There is still remnants of the powder on his skin from the spell he had quite literally thrown into his face, the one that cut the prince's ties to awareness, Valryn notes as his fingers graze down his chin to brush the soot away.

Qu'ress. A prince...he had heard the word used softly between the trees by one of the men traveling with him. Valryn is transfixed, fascinated. A prince, just like himself. Equal, but prey...he can't quite help the sharp, amused smile that twists his lips at the thought.

[It is a cackle - a mean cackle, thin and high-tipped as the edges of a circular saw - that comes in from the door of the cellar that Aramat has found herself in.

There ain't much that scares this lady, and good on her for that - but... everyone makes their missteps sometimes.

And this time around, for her, it happened to come while she was looking into a dilapidated old house on the edge of Louisiana swamp country. The nearby small town had turned up many a corpse with puncture wounds in their necks - written off, mostly, as some killer trying to make an impression of some kind. Trying to look like a vampire.

But... nay. Vampires do exist, and Aramat knows it.

A foray into the place had taken place by daylight. Said daylight should have given her the upper hand - seriously, it should have - but... a fella in a hood who ain't one to take too kindly to nosy folks himself had enough cover to come up to where she was. After a few verbal taunts, bum-rush and blackjack her.

It all... felt like a fuckin' chore, at the time. But it was actually the type of chore he can actually understand the necessity of, on enough time for it to be on a... certain note. KO'ing those trespassing in vampire territory in general, keeping the... fear of whatever it is they're scared of in them.

He still hasn't pinned down what it is that freaks Aramat out, and on these grounds, he strides on into that cellar, calling out like it's something totally innocent, a straight-up out-loud blunt, as he descends the stairway.]

Good news, ma'am, youuuu're gonna get to be one of us -- !

[He says this as, honestly, someone who hates that she compromised the estate, and given his patrol role, period, that... here he is, called upon to actually do shit, however perkily he picks up out of the sweep, as he stalks like an excited vulture over to her, wherever she may be, at the moment, in her seeking either an out or further understanding.

Still, stalk on up, he does, with the thought that, for Chrissakes, he sure could use more blood in his system in mind...!]
