Warning: Be aware that this meme deals with dark subjects like slavery and may also contain non-consensual/dubiously consensual sex, violence, and kink.

SLAVES

1. The Newbie - This is your very first auction and you don't quite know what to expect. Hopefully you remember your training and don't disgrace yourself in front of your new master. Hopefully someone thinks you're worth buying at all.

2. The Oldtimer - You've been bought and sold and bought again so many times. You've seen it all before and don't think this time is going to be much different. In fact, the only real anxiety you've got is whether or not someone's going to pay for a more than slightly used slave.

3. The Pet - You're a pleasure slave. A bed warmer. A decorative piece of artwork. You're meant to look pretty and be pleasing and not much else.

4. The Guard - Your master hired you because of your ability to swing a sword or shoot a gun, not your looks.

5. The Escape Artist - Somehow you always manage to squirm out of your master's chains. Too bad you seem to get caught after a while. Maybe your next daring escape will be permanent. Then again, maybe your next master has special ways of keeping you locked up.

6. The Undercover - You aren't a slave at all, you're just pretending to be one. Why? Well that's up to you. Either way, your cover is blown if you don't act the part.

7. The Specialist - You have a skill that no one else has. Something rare and valuable. Something your master needs more than anything else.

MASTERS

1. The Customer - You've owned slaves before and this trip to the market is nothing new to you. Still, you're hoping to find something worth your while.

2. The Gift - Someone bought a pet for you, isn't that nice of them? Or maybe it isn't so nice. Did you even want a slave in the first place? Well you're stuck with one now.

3. The Giver - You're selecting a slave for someone else, and they need to be perfect. Perhaps you'd better test them out first to make sure you're getting your money's worth.

4. The Trainer - You specialize in taming unruly slaves and making them over into perfect, obedient, well-trained pets.

5. The Rebel - You hate the idea of slavery, but the system isn't going to go away any time soon, so the next best thing is to buy up any slave you can get your hands on and free them, right?

6. The Companion - You want someone to be with you always, someone you can talk to and depend on, someone who will never leave your side. It's a good thing that money can buy that these days.

7. The Undercover - You're not actually a Master. You're at the auction for an entirely different reason. Maybe it's special policework, maybe you're trying to hunt down a certain someone. Either way, your cover is blown unless you act the part.

Looking specifically for hurt/comfort with this one.

Jack is a rebel Vampire who finds the practice disgusting but he grew up with it since a lot of vampires get their human blood bags from things like this. As an adult, he tries to buy a few slaves a year and set them free but only after getting them set up for success/out of the country/visas etc. People think he kills them but really he sends them off after taking care of them.

[ Kaelan directs her down the labyrinth of corridors. One more to go; he's prepared a special wing for this, even if for now she'll have access to only one room. To combat the chill outdoors, the thermostat on the wall nearby has been turned up to 85F — but the reading doesn't match the feel of a draft unfurling its way down the halls.

It's cold, where Kaelan walks. Few people, however, usually put two and two together.

He walks behind her now, eyes on her collar rather than on her. He hasn't bothered to cuff or bind her. ]

He could almost pretend he was someone else. He's lucky, like that. He can walk outside with his Master without his hands bound or his neck leashed. There is still the tracker on his ankle, of course, easy to spot due to the trousers riding up short. But he's been in the system long enough to know that the tracker is enough to make escape a pointless attempt. Even if he were to somehow forget, he would only need to look in a mirror to see the evidence on his face.

And that is another give-away of who he really is. What he is.

John never thought himself much of a looker. But he could accept being, what one girl once said, 'averagely handsome'. Short but strong, blond hair, kind eyes and a cute smile. Well, some of that is still true, but he doubts anyone would call him handsome. Master makes sure to remind him often he is anything but. His blond locks are now mostly shaved off, replaced with tattooed markings around small clumps of white. His kind eyes are still there, but lost beneath a mesh of burns and scars that make up his disfigured face. He never smiles, but it would be difficult to tell if he was. Master's tamer once tried to 'cut a smile' into him, hence the stitches on his cheek.

He knows he's a monster. A freak. Master always says so. The children on the street who scream or laugh say so. No matter. That's not what Master bought him for. Once upon a time, John had signed up to fight to protect others. Now he does it just for a roof over his head, and not for a country but one rich, cold-hearted diplomat. They hurt his face and his chest and back - his hands can still hold a gun and his feet are still fast.

He's Master's guard dog. No raider or rebel gets past him. Neither does another slave trying to escape. They hate him as much as any Free Citizen. John just tells himself that he's doing them a favour - better he stops them then they get caught and endure what he's had to. Or worse.

"Ugh. Can't you put a sack over your mutt's head when you bring him out in public, Elijah?" One of Master's friends comments after glancing at John.

"Now that would ruin the effect he has! Plus the kids like it. Eyes down, Dog." Master tells him, cracking the whip on John's hands.

He does as instructed and stares at his feet. How is he supposed to protect Master if he can't see threats coming? He knows better than to talk back or ask questions. He would rather not lose his tongue - though he knows it's something else Master doesn't believe is necessary for his duties. Dogs can't speak after all.

He hears the auction start. He already feels cold. Master has been rather...lonely since Mistress passed away. His chest pangs at the thought of her. She had been kind to John, at least for a slave-owner. She even sometimes snuck him biscuits when Master was out the room. Bloody cancer. It had come so fast and Master's mood had become even worse. The man doesn't have any desire to get married again though.

No, he just wants. Someone. A body to keep his bed warm. John quietly prays it won't be someone too young.

While slightly displeased that his son had picked a male as his pet, at least Brice wouldn't be out in the brothels playing with who knew what when he had a pretty little slave at home.

They'd traveled in separate cars, of course, and as soon as Dick had been admitted to the sprawling mansion, he'd been ushered into a bathroom and stripped. Water poured and then left with a single attendant to make sure Dick didn't drown himself.

Half an hour later, Brice strolled in, barefoot in barechested, grinning at the pretty boy in the cooling water. "Thank you, Geoff. You're free to go."

"But..."

"No, it's fine, I'll be fine." Brice gave a flourish of his hand and Geoff's polished shoes at least left the tile and went into the other room.

"Hi, I'm Brice," he said, dropping to his knees and picking up a sponge. "I'm going to wash you now."
