The Apocalypse Meme

- Comment with character. Add your preferences, possible plot ideas, maybe some brief information on the character.

PROMPTS:
TIMEFRAME
1. Impending doom. Patient Zero is loose, something was sighted off the Atlantic coast, a prophecy from on high - it's the beginning of the end, and only a few people know. There's not much time left, so best get preparin'.
2. Falling apart around us. You were there when it began, and now you're in the thick of it. The natural, the supernatural, or even your fellow man are against you now, and the only thought on your mind should be survival.
3. From the ashes. Whether you remember peaceful days or not, it's over now, and this is your life for good. Whatever happened has changed your world forever, and whether you choose to adapt or rebuild, nothing will ever quite be the same as it was.
CAUSE
1. Natural disaster. Storm's coming, water's rising, earth's shaking. Whether it's the whole world that's in danger or only a piece of it, you're in the line of fire and this one's gonna be a doozy.
2. War. World powers collided, or maybe everyone thought there was something worth fighting for. Then the swords flashed, or the bombs fell, or the dragon knights swarmed the villages, and now everyone's asking - was it worth all this?
3. Disease. Infection's in the air (or the water, or the bugs, or the mana.) When the doctors drop dead, who's left to fight the plague? Can't trust anyone to come near you, not even your friends, and especially the mysterious immune.
4. Monsters. Zombies, demons, kaiju, titans, Elder Gods? They're not human, they're not happy, and they're coming soon to a city near you.
5. Aliens. Monsters are scary, but aliens are organised. And they have cool spaceships. Can the human species stand together in the face of this threat?
6. Dystopia. Surely, this isn't the end. Why, it's a whole new beginning! Peace and prosperity...so why does it feel so wrong sometimes?
RELATIONSHIP
1. Buddy system. Stick together for safety and try not to kill each other while you're at it. You might even get to liking each other after a few years of this.
2. Enemies. Whether you're competing for resources or on opposite sides of a conflict, you've got reason to hate each other.
3. Friends to the end. Or siblings, or family, or lovers, or whatever. You knew each other before this, and now you're each others' emotional (and possibly moral) anchor. Death flags abound.
4. Let's be heroes. You hold the cure, the secret weapon, the map to paradise, and whether you're on your own or part of The Resistance, your mission is to save lives. All of them, preferably.
5. Let's be villains. You're in this for the fun of watching the world burn. Why? You tell me, you twisted little fucks. Can come in "co-conspirators" and "facing down the mastermind" flavors.
6. Rock bottom. Prisoners, slaves, soldiers, infected. The two of you have been through hell and have yet to come back - might as well wallow together. Or maybe you had the guts to fight back?
SCENARIO
1. Fighting to survive. Watch each others' backs! (Or try to put a knife in them, if that's your thing.)
2. A quiet moment. Swapping solemn stories around a campfire while you nurse each others' wounds - treasure these moments, because they don't come along too often.
3. Death...or worse. Goddammit you said you weren't going to get bitten and now look what happened.
4. Letting loose. Laughter is good for the soul, especially in times like these. Surely, you can recreate the things that used to delight you in the world before the end.
5. Future in your hands. You're in a situation to uncover all the sordid details of how the end of the world began - and you've got what you need to change it all, for better or for worse. The question is, are you willing?
6. Love in a hopeless place. Nobody's an island, and these are tough times on even the most hardened heart.
7. A day in the life. Anarchy isn't the only outcome - maybe there's an force trying to stop the disaster, or control it, or perhaps advance it. As members of this organisation, you're not always in the thick of things, giving you plenty of time to watch the world fall and ponder your contribution .
7. Other. There's a whole world of apocalypse tropes out there. Go nuts.

[Lifting her head back into place, with her gaze on her client while continuing to ignore the danger in their surroundings.]
All you have to do to use me properly is by giving me orders. One word or sentences are both applicable. I will do my utmost to follow them to the letter. [A beat.] What is your first command?

[Her timing wasn't exactly the best. In the aftermath of everything. After this, the vampires would be all the more furious considering what just happened. What Guren just did, in his desperation to keep his friends together. To bring them back. And they could never know. She never needed to know.
Or maybe she already did, somehow. He purses his lips, glancing to the side before meeting her gaze again.]
Keep my friends safe. That's the only order I need to give.

[All said without a moment to think about it, no matter if the order was a rarity in itself. She simply needed to obey while keeping in line her company's rules of conduct all at once.]
Do you require for their protection to be done in this area or wish for it to be carried elsewhere? I can carry many without any difficulty.
[The giant battle-ax on her back was a good example of her initial strength being superb; regardless of her dainty and doll-like appearance.]

[Because this is a question of when. Not if, they make it through this. Because Guren couldn't take that, if he went through that all over again, to lose them, to not be able to bring them back this time. To not keep the promise of eating cake together.
She doesn't look like much. But her choice of weapon, her appearance, knowing she isn't human - that didn't mean anything. Didn't mean he should underestimate what she might be capable of in protecting him and his friends.]

[A repeat of his request as she considers it. After all, his request will leave her at a loss over if it was allowed in the rules. Her objective was to protect him while he in turn is asking for the protection of his friends, who are not her objectives.
Her gaze will continue to silently observe him. It was all she can do while deciding on a proper course of action. Before long, her gaze will turn elsewhere, looking pensive as though reflecting over a number of different decisions and their outcomes.]
Your protection is my main concern. I was hired to protect you during a time you most need it. [A pause just to touch her emerald brooch for a moment.] However, my order was vague at best. [After all, protecting someone can be interpreted in many ways.] How important are the lives of your friends to you?

[Because he's aware the Hiragi tapped his phone. Heard him agreeing to join Mahiru. So of course he expects there to be....consequences of some sort from Kureto, from Tenri. Especially as the leader of sorts of all this. So he's prepared for that.
As much as he is aware she was hired to protect him, his friends are important too. At the least, they seem distracted for now, since she doesn't seem to be attacking him or anything.]
Important enough that I'd risk myself to protect them.
[Important enough to take up the Cursed Gear without initially even being able to control it. To relinquish his humanity from that moment on that his hand touched Noya's hilt. Important enough that anyone knew that this little group was his weakness in getting to Guren through them.]

[Letter writing and fighting were her strongest suits. They've always been as long as she can remember. Only her experience in fighting and war was far longer than that of writing formal letters or type her customer's feelings and thoughts during the moment. Many of which are usually their final words.
Even so, after examining the other young man's responses, watching every detail his body can offer her, the determination in his gaze -- everything that was connected to his heart -- she has determine that:]
I will protect them as long as it will keep you internally intact. My duties are to protect you. As I was not given a specific way to do so, I will need to guard everything that makes you to be my objective known as Master Guren Ichinose. That is my mission until I am no longer needed.
[Heading closer to those she has vow to protect, Violet will hold her weapon in a defensive stance, directing it towards any enemies foolish enough to decide to attack. She won't move unless instigated to do so which will not take much as a simple raise of a weapon, glare, or insult will have her moving in a speed that wasn't human in the slightest. The way she attacks will have no fear nor remorse as her aim from the moment she rose her weapon will be to kill. Her expression will not change. It will remain uninterested and without expression. A girl that looks like a doll than human will be the only way to describe her even if she grows dirty from her deadly assaults.]

[He isn't about to let them stand talking for too long anyway. So it works out, when she shifts to focus on the others. On his friends. Friends he tries not to think on in regards to the time limit he now has on his time with them from here on. Assuming none of them would be killed before that. Still, that's just what he has her for, isn't it? Or, now anyway.
He can't help but to be impressed, even as he clarifies his order in helping defend his friends, reassuring him they were safe while he focuses on himself as a result.]

[She'll offer her own gratitude in return for the undeserved praise as she was simply following orders. She'll return her attention to her surroundings once more, trying to assess the situation, while remaining in place protecting her current client and his group.]

[Since she is absolutely certain he has his pride and talents as a fellow soldier, something about his gaze reminds her greatly of her Major if he were younger and more informal over his duties.]

[But really, Guren is pretty well covered, considering Shinya usually keeps an eye on him from a distance with Byakkomaru. So even if he might struggle against an opponent, it isn't for long. Provided he and the others more in the 'front lines' of things kept the opponents away from Shinya, of course.
Still, he doesn't instinctively and immediately reject her offer, at least. He's had his status and power - or lack thereof - drilled into him by the Hiragi by now to know he can't manage any of this alone. He never could. As much as he was initially unsure what to make of it when the others had barged into his place to 'hang out' and all.
Guren grimaces as he parries an attack before making to strike with a retaliation, his sword cutting into the vampire and glowing that eerie, vivid green when he activates the Curse against the vampire. He's about to turn, to check on the others, when another speeds to stand right in front of him.]
