Dystopia AU
Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.
1. Stronghold - Inside the walls, we are safe. Outside the walls, there is only madness, desolation, and thirst. Everything you need is here. Mother protects us. Mother sees to all our needs. To defy or to question Mother is to put all our lives at risk.
2. Rebels against the Government - You know each other only by code names. You’ve met each other only within the safety of illegal, anonymous networks. You can only hope and trust that they are loyal to your cause, and that none of this is a trap.
3. Re-education - Once, you questioned. Once, you doubted. You know this, but you have learned of your folly. The Ludovico technique of aversion therapy is unparalleled at rehabilitating criminals. Traitors. So-called ‘free-thinkers’. You’re better now. Isn’t it wonderful, to be a productive and unquestioning member of society?
4. The Ministry of Culture - Art is lies, and lies are forbidden. Love is treachery, and treachery is forbidden. Sex is deviance, and deviance is punishable by death. History is regression, and regression is a crime. Music is rebellion, and rebellion is intolerable. Any citizens found in possession of deviant and false publications will be punished.
5. Population Control - Resources are finite. There are too many mouths to feed and not enough arable land. Which is why you have been chosen to be culled. Only the strongest, the smartest, and the most resourceful are needed in the new society. One person from your group will be permitted to survive and to return to society, richly rewarded. Everyone else must die. Weapons are right over there.
6. The Helpmeet (Smut Option) - It’s a stressful life, working for the government and helping to protect the fragile values of our society. Maybe it’s your way of surviving, of rebelling, maybe it’s the only thing you’ve ever known. And in recognition, in appreciation of your loyalty and service, the government has provided you with a Helpmeet. The Helpmeet is an eager, obedient warm body, waiting for you at your home, thinking of nothing but your pleasure. You’ve heard rumors that the Helpmeets are former rebels and traitors, re-educated into obedience and now serving this important social function. You’ve also heard rumors that Helpmeets are engineered in a lab to be what they are. Either way, there’s no reason for you to question it. No need to think about how you treat them. They’re not real people, after all.

It seemed like a waste of energy to Dean. Some of these places that had been struck, it was recent enough that there might be people still trapped within. He'd worked almost ceaselessly pulling people from the wreckage of cars and buildings for days now, but even he had to admit that the chances of anyone having survived, been trapped, and still being alive now, were getting slim.
It was crazy. Dean had no idea if it went further than the city. It wasn't in his head to try and find out. At the moment, the idea of an apocalypse was something distant, beyond the present. Thoughts of vampires coming out in LA, admitting to their existence, and therefore changing the world forever, had been completely forgotten. Maybe that was the point. Maybe this was a freak accident. Maybe one of those frustrated Greek gods was having a fit that they weren't important enough any more, and humanity had to pay. He had no idea, and right now, saving lives had come out on top as the more important goal.
Wherever Sam was, Dean hoped he was okay, that his brother was alive, that he had a better idea of what was going on, and could maybe do something about it. Dean was loosely formulating a plan to get out of the city, as soon as there was no more good that he could do here. He'd head for Frisco, then take route 66 east. If Sam was okay, they had a meeting place set up, just in case anything like this happened. He'd find his brother there, no doubt; nothing to worry about.
Dean froze, falling very still. Someone was tapping underneath the rubble. It sounded weak, but they were still alive--if he could just reach them. He started to pull at the broken, scorched cement, rolling the largest pieces away, and yelled for help, not that he expected any. ]
Someone's down here!

Waylon Parker is from Outlast: Whistleblow, which is a first-person horror game. However, I'm an avid fan of the Walking Dead so I would be more than happy to make his horror experience be at the hands of zombies instead if you're interested. )

So we could assume that whatever happens at the Asylum spreads, and is responsible for the plague that hits the country, something like that? And Waylon's survived it right from the outbreak. Could be interesting! ]

3. Re-education. because i mean it's rick.
Being one of the most wanted fugitives made it a little difficult, though, especially considering he started the underground networking in the first place. Areas where they shared with one another and where love passed around freely.
One of the officers locked him into place, taking no chances it seemed but to be fair he had escaped more than anyone else in their history. So, didn't they find it at all suspicions they finally caught him? Fools. The whole lot of them.
Sighing, he waited for the big bad boss to come in, not at all afraid like everyone else. Few actually met him but Rick's status apparently afford him the opportunity.
The very one he needed to kill. Oh, he had plans, so many plans and this happened to be only phase one. ]

Hey, you collecting or what?
[ The clerk's annoyed voice draws his attention back to the small stack of bills on the counter before him. He snatches them up without a word and walks to the side, allowing the next gun for hire to move up behind him to peddle his wares. A moment's consideration has him moving to the nearest wall with his back pressed to it, giving him a breath or two to consider his options.
And then, she walks in the door.
No one pays her much mind, with her slight build that radiates meek timidity; red flag number two. Why would a woman like her be here? What place does she have in an underground mercenary trading post? Some glance her way, then find themselves looking elsewhere as she deflects them with far less effort than he's ever seen in a Guide. It sets the hair of the back of his neck on edge. Still, no one sees her. No one reacts.
So he chooses to. ]
RAID!
[ Every head in the place is up when he shouts; the clerk behind the counter is already gone, the opening in his window snapped shut in an instant. Is he the rat? Doesn't matter now; what matters is getting the fuck out of there. Everyone's beginning the move, but not fast enough, as a canister soon rolls in through the door, spewing smoke in its wake. Chaos follows, with both normals and Sentinels alike scattering for the exits; no matter what sort of raid this may be, illegal activity is still illegal activity. Sesi makes no attempt to flee just yet, having already removed a gas mask from his bag and pulled it in place. The exits will be manned. He needs another way out.
And a bargaining chip.
It takes little effort for him to move through the shouting, shoving crowd, each of his senses showing him when to shove, shift, or dodge. In moments he's behind the Guide sent in to sedate them, his arm around her neck and dragging her out of the fray. He doesn't stop moving until he's kicked open the door of a storage closet, dragging her backwards inside. It's then that she feels the edge of a blade to her neck, followed by a cold voice at her ear muffled by the mask still in place: ]
Mask us from them, or I open your throat.
