[He had taken to staring off into space so he wouldn't have to look at her, the under lying feeling of fear that if he did so for too long, the words he was trying to keep inside would just spill forth without him being able to stop it. He knew that she was likely growing suspicious of him, likely wondering what was wrong, what was going on that was making him act like this, but he tried to continue on as normally as possible.]
