![]() Dating...isn't what you'd consider the two of you doing. You're just close. Close enough to spend time together, do things you both enjoy, eat together, talk about problems, cuddle, and kiss, possibly. And you don't do most of these things with other people. Okay. Okay, so maybe you are dating. But do you need to disclose this fact to everyone else, or at least acknowledge it amongst yourselves - If you even realize it, that is. It's possible this whole "a couple" status has snuck up on you. Theoretically, at least. ...how did that happen?

She sees in people what she expects to see, and for all her low expectations, rarely underestimates. Confirmation bias, yo.]
It's generous of you to offer, [because if it were just a matter of courtesy, she'd take that option in a heartbeat,] but my access should be frozen anyway. Security is apparently more convenient that way.
[But not for her. Looking down, she appears to realize she's still holding the captain's hand and drops it hastily.] But I can show you our quarters now, and we can walk through your itinerary. Most official events and workshops take place here in Central's quad where we and most of your crew will be staying, but sometimes visitors like to see the city on their own terms.
[Tourism! The captain will have been strongly and repeatedly advised to only try it in the company of a designated local if she really must, but Pamela doesn't offer the warning now. It's not like she wants important Federation visitors to get mugged; it just doesn't occur to her to try and prevent it.]

Doesn't sound very convenient to me. [ So it sounds like they're stuck with each other, or at least those above Isley have done what they can to try to arrange that. No matter. Jane doesn't mind; at least the doctor's nice to look at, and she can manage that much with some moderate discretion. (Hasn't always been the case, in the past.) ]
Alright. Although I'd rather avoid official events if I can. I was hoping you could show me around the city, instead. [ Whatever places are Isley's favorites, or what she thinks would fit best. Jane's curious and eager to learn more about the place, to make her own observations and draw her own conclusions. She's been in enough places that try to keep things secretive to know when a certain government or group of people is trying to keep something from her and her crew.
And maybe they think it's none of her business, but if this planet wants to be considered an ally of the Federation, then it damn well is her job to make sure they deserve the Federation's trust. ]

I can do that.
[She leads them out of the room through a different door, picking one of the indoor routes that leads to the living quarters. Sunlight, cast a reddish colour by hazy atmosphere, filters through the rooms and window-lined halls and warms the air.] What interests you, captain? Theater? Dancing? Our humble colony should have enough culture to keep even a wild space-traveler engaged for a week.
[Her words are conversational, but there's a silent after-echo of sarcasm and the candidness from earlier leaches away. It's not clear if she's mocking Kirk, her rich and soiled colony, or her own current compliance in bringing the two together. Gotham doesn't try very hard to pretend it isn't a little shady; it's all part of her seductive charm as long as you never confront how deep the grime goes. If the captain wants to see the city, Pam will show her the city.
And, still casting her own assumptions, she figures Kirk will either grow disgusted and give up on them all, or, just as entertaining, reveal herself to be as low as every other corrupted authority that comes here to have a good time. Both would please her, although the latter more.
Disappointment tastes like satisfaction.Checking her PADD, Pam reads off a few more events and locations--museums and street fairs and night clubs--as she guides them to the lift. All her descriptions a little detached and she doesn't mention any preferences. Those are are a little too personal and no one comes to Gotham to see a park anyway.]

She looks somewhere between amused and puzzled at the tone Isley takes when talking about the place. Almost sounds like she doesn't like it, which in turn only makes Jane more curious as to why. Then again, new places always make her plenty curious, no matter how good or bad they might be. Gotham seems to have plenty of secrets, some probably well-hidden, others not so much. Either way, she fully intends to poke around. And probably get herself in trouble eventually, but that's a problem for future-her to deal with. ]
Drinks, for a start. [ Right now doesn't seem like a good hour to ask about bookstores or antique fairs, not to mention she has a feeling Isley would probably just mock her for it. Not that Jane would care, anyway. She likes what she likes, nothing wrong with that.
She listens to the descriptions, perking up at a couple, and eventually settling for a small bar she mentions. There's drinks and there should be some music too, hopefully not as loud as in an actual club, which works just fine for her. ]
Any place where I can see the stars at night?
