1. BREAK DOWN

Oh, snap, your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leatherface? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?

2. TRUCK STOP

You've stopped at a gas station. They're out of gas, snacks and the bathrooms are out of order. Wat do. (Zombie attack optional.)

3. HITCHHIKERS?

Is this even a good idea? Why is their backpack leaking suspicious substances? Go wild.

4. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT?

Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... or I think that was a deer.

5. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND!

Alas, you're the parent or the disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back.

6. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK!

No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.

7. THE GREAT ESCAPE

Either dinosaurs or the mothman is chasing you. Don't stop now.

8. MAKE OUT~

You're now parked in one of the make-out points in this town. Did you know? Well, that's up to you, as is what you do next.

9. WE'RE SO LOST

The map blew away when you were stupid enough to open the windows earlier. You know that old stereotype about how men never ask for directions but women will? Time to see if you're going to prove it right or not. Try not to fight over it too much, driving partners.

10. BUT OFFICER...

Those flashing lights in your rearview mirror? Definitely not just for decoration.

[The shitty thing about Texas, as if Cassidy can't come up with a list as long as his arm, is that you can drive and drive and drive and still be nowhere. Or you can be somewhere that's as good as nowhere, like a town that stretches only as far as the length of the main drag and branches out into nothing. People live there, surely. Cass just doesn't know where.

It's almost like this state is hiding people. They turn up every now and again, even out here in the Nowhere. From whence they come, though, who has any idea?

So it figures that they're on a particularly long stretch of empty highway when Jesse's truck starts coughing and sputtering and eventually gives up the ghost right there, under the hot southern sun.

Cass stares out the dashboard, surveying the dead-looking landscape past his shades now that it's all stopped moving, and makes an observation:]

Steve squinted down at the map spread out over the seat of his motorcycle, trying not to glare at it. He was good at reading maps, dammit. Even maps that didn't involve clearly delineated roads and highways, like in the US. He'd traveled through war-torn Europe with nothing but a compass and a sketchy map of the terrain, in hostile territory. This shouldn't be nearly as difficult.

And yet, it was turning out to be even worse. "This can't be right. We should've hit a town by now." He jabbed his finger at the little red mark that denoted the town in question.

[ This wasn't going to well. The Zora King asked, reasonably concerned about his child leaving for periods of time, just to have him go along wherever the Prince wished and Link was perfectly willing to agree and play protective escort to royalty for a while. He still doesn't remember plenty of specifics about doing it before in his life but Link was pretty sure knew enough about things now to do the job properly and not run into any issues. He thought.

It started off rocky, just on the basis that the Prince definitely didn't fit on a horse and they had to accommodate with another means. (More than one horse. Sidon sits on a cart. It's kind of funny.)

He should have asked Sidon more specifically where they were going first. They're already way out of the Domain when he's informed to take a turn opposite the one he thought was the more rational direction and given a specific point to head towards. Link stops the horses, slowly looking back at Sidon from on top of one. Brows furrowed in uncertainty and his lips stretched thin in a line. ]
