LYRICS PROMPT MEME
Get your playlists ready, kids. Got a song you relate to a character?
To a type of situation? Give it to someone as a prompt and see where they take it!
You can use it as a general prompt or have the characters actually sing it or whatever, we're not the cops.
If you want to set the mood, you can link the song to go with it.
• Top level your character. Include any details you might think are relevant. Post your own prompt or wait for people to prompt you.
• Reply to other people's top levels! Pick a song with a mood you like, put in a chunk of the lyrics, link ye olde youtube if you feel like it, and wait.
• Feel free to make it pretty for #aesthetic purposes, but make sure it's all legible or else no one will be able to read your prompts.
• Have fun!

Jyn touched his face, unable to find the words to explain what she was feeling, how glad she was that he was alive, how much she needed him.
She moved closer and pressed her face into his shoulder, wrapping her arm around him.

Despite his injuries, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, wanting to anchor her and to make sure that she knew he was there - he wasn't going anywhere, not without her.

"I don't know," she answered. "I don't know where we are. Or how long we've been here."

At the kiss she lifted her head from his shoulder to meet his eyes for a quiet moment before leaning in and gently meeting his lips with hers.

And then she kissed him and it pushed away all the doubts and the what-ifs and the unknowns in his head. Because right at that moment, all that mattered was her. He kissed her back just as gently, his emotions threatening to undo him then and there.
no subject
She was trembling as she kissed him, just slightly, perhaps not enough to even be perceptible, as everything else faded in the light of that moment. She knew he was injured and in pain, so she remained careful, gentle, her hand coming up to cradle his face as the kiss continued.

After they pulled off the impossible - after realizing that they were going to die there, in Scarif - as they looked at each other in the dim light of that elevator, all he could think about was how much he wanted to kiss her, but they didn't know each other then, not really - not where it mattered. And even now, they still didn't know each other, but they were granted the time to do so.

"I wanted to kiss you, too," she admitted. If somehow she had survived and he had not, she could imagine regretting not kissing him when she had the chance. But kneeling on the beach, holding on tight to each other as death bared down on them, was as raw an intimacy as she could have experienced.
"I don't know how we're alive," she said, quietly, carefully. "But...if it's only so that we can do this...we can have more time...I can't help but think it's worth it."
no subject
"Maybe it's meant to be," he said, half teasing because while it sounded cheesy, it was still true.

Jyn leaned in and kissed him again, short and soft, then settled against him, her arm again wrapping around his waist. "Will you have to be here long?" She didn't know how serious his injuries were.
no subject
But at least she hadn't been seriously injured. He didn't pray, but he silently thanked whatever got them out of Scarif and mostly unscathed.

"Then I'll stay."

Saw was gone, and her father was gone, and changing her name and running again felt unbearably empty without Cassian.
"All the way, right? I'm not going to leave when things get difficult."
no subject
"All the way," he said with a nod. He wouldn't have been surprised if she didn't choose to leave. Things were only going to get more difficult from here.

Were she not with Cassian, she probably would have walked away. But they had each other's backs. He didn't walk away from her, and she wouldn't walk away from him.
He was home.

"Mm, we do have a tendency to run into trouble," he commented with a nod of his head. "Good thing I'll have you."
Home. It was a concept Cassian couldn't understand but for some reason, with Jyn, he finally understood it.

She smiled back at him, fondly brushing his hair back from his temple with her fingertips, taking the opportunity to just look at him in the safety and the quiet. She had studied his face in the elevator, knowing it would be the last thing she saw and wanting to see. Now she could just take it in. She ran her fingers along the ridge of his cheekbone, and came to rest them gently on his lips.

He did the same when they were in the elevator, memorizing the lines, the curves, the different shades of her face - the way she looked at hm as they realized that these were some of their final moments on Scarif. He had been mostly okay with that. They at least did some good before they would be forced from existence. But now they were here. In each other's arms. "What are you thinking?" He whispered.
no subject
"I'm thinking," she whispered back, "that it would be nice to just stay here." She swallowed, aware that her eyes were starting to tear up. Everything that she cared about had been taken from her, from Saw to her father to the rebels who went into the fire with her. It was all gone, except for him, for this, for his face and his eyes and his lips and his arms and his warmth and the way he looked at her and the way she felt when he looked at here.
She swallowed again.
"Can we just stay for a little while?" she whispered, almost inaudible, her fingertips trembling.

He pursed his lips, kissing her fingertips.
