This analogy isn't very feminist or progressive of me, and I preemptively apologize for that, but imagine a friend of yours has a puppy you're fond of. It's a beautiful puppy that cares for you when you're sick, lightens your spirits when you're down, and brings nothing but joy and light into this world.
And then one day, someone comes along and kicks that puppy.
We're not all quite so blessed with your saintly patience and abundance of forgiveness, Doctor Ziegler, so you'll have to take my word for it when I say that many people would want to, if not put that person in an early grave, at least kick back.
Now I know vengeance isn't Catholic, but I believe the Holy Father can forgive me just this once.
