SNOWED IN

The Snowed In Meme
You were just having a normal day out when an angelical snow shower hits you... hard. And now you're trapped with someone else until it passes by. Are you at a cafe? A bookstore? School? In the middle of crime-fighting? Location, duration and snow intensity are all up to you!

However, he would have preferred not to be invited along on this one particular trip. Why? There's a freak snowstorm hitting their area.

Good things about this situation
Speaking of food, this is a pleasure trip which means no Yakov getting onto him about portion control. Yuri finally looks up from his phone, half-sprawled across a kotatsu like he's the only one allowed to use it. )
Oi. ( Yes, he means you. ) When's dinner?

Truthfully, Yuuri's not sure what to do with it so he tends to let everyone do as they will, soaking in the hotsprings, trying to keep in shape and not lose himself to boredom within the first day.
There's still internet and phone service - the snow hasn't knocked those out, which means every so often he manages to put on an extra layer of clothes and tromps out into the snow to take pictures for Phichit. He comes back in after one such excursion to see Yuri sprawled across one of the kotatsu like he owns it, which. Not shocking, a little endearing, if he's telling the truth. He'd never say that, though, not wanting to get into an unintentional fight with the younger skater. ]
Oh. I can go ask if you want, but probably in an hour or so.
[ He yanks off the scarf he'd worn outside and shakes snow out of his hair, stomping his boots a few times to rid them of snow, too. ]
Did they tell you when they're going to reschedule your flight?
[ A pause, and he holds up both hands after a moment, grimacing. ]
Not that you're not welcome to stay, my family likes you, I just - I know it's probably not the most exciting.

Usually there's more of a diligent attitude towards his own activities (except buying clothes; let the boy have his one vice), but it's okay to let go a little bit now and again. )
I dunno. I'll get a text notification when it happens.
( Thinking of the piling snow outside reminds him of how hungry he is and despite the warmth of the kotatsu, the warmth of a dripping pork sliver sounds good right about now. Though Yuri's snow of bundling up himself makes him smirk a little. Who knew porkers could get so cold? )
Go soak and defrost. You can add boiled pork to the menu. ( Calling the other Yuri a pig will never get old; Yuri is never more a shitty teen than when coming up with shitty insults. )

Once all of his clothing is hung up, he finishes shaking snow out of his hair and then pushes it back out of his eyes, unfogging his glasses with his sweater so he can actually see inside again. ]
Alright.
[ He cuts Yuri a glance, wry. ]
Phichit says hi, by the way.
[ It was more a check of "have someone smack Yuri with a spoon if he's being too mean" but Yuuri's an adult and he's also not about to toss Phichit under the bus like that, so he keeps it to something a little more manageable. ]
I spoke to some of the neighbors. If it stops snowing by tonight, we might be able to get a path to the rink cleared so we can practice.

Yuri makes a somewhat noncommittal noise at being told Phichit says hi. He knows him by degrees of separation; his skating achievements come to mind before any defining personal information. But he does follow him online...Yuri scrolls through his timeline to give one of Phichit's Instagram photos a double tap. His way of sending a greeting back.
Phichit will probably appreciate that more than anything, anyway. )
Mmm. ( This noise is more thoughtful instead of noncommittal. Yuri appreciates the warmth of the onsen, but it feels weird to not be able to skate when he wants to. To skip skating for more than a day feels alien. Thinking about Yuuri skipping out on it for so long...how did he stay sane?
Never mind that -- that was a while ago. A year plus, nearing two. It will be secretly nice to see Yuuri skate again, both to observe his progress and line up their current stats. )
Are you practicing a new program or just skating in circles? ( Personally he's going to have so spend a good thirty minutes getting his legs to wake back up...the Russians need kotatsus. )

It won't do him any good to get settle because then he won't want to move, but he can warm his feet up right now before he goes to check on the status of dinner.
With the snowstorm, it means that the whole building is oddly quiet; no one besides them is snowed in, so they have almost entirely free reign of the place which is nice- it's good, it's just...strange. ]
A little of both. I want to make sure I can do all the different elements before I try to chain them together. What about you?
[ Giving up in just a few moments on this whole idea of not moving, he shoves the rest of his legs under the heated table and rests his elbows on it, shaking damp hair out of his face. He needs to get a haircut, but with the snow that's near impossible. All the same, it's hanging in his eyes; he doesn't know how Viktor and Yuri managed with such long hair. ]
