seriously, another plot that involves people getting snowed in? the last one was at least a manor, where the rooms have comforters and blankets and modern heating. this time--

yosano dumps the musty blankets she found while rummaging through the run-down shack. she then starts tearing down books, breaking apart rickety chairs and tossing them into the empty fireplace. ]

( He's no stranger to world travel, having flown to almost every continent numerous times...but Yuri is a little exhausted of having to go to Japan so much. Once on his own means and because of skating? Fine. Being Viktor's Japan Tour Cohabitation Tag-Along? Well, at least he's included.

However, he would have preferred not to be invited along on this one particular trip. Why? There's a freak snowstorm hitting their area.

Bad things about this situation:

Yuri is snowed in in a foreign country. Also at the Katsudon's little day spa or whatever the hell you should really call this place. He didn't even think it could snow this much in Japan.

It means he's yet again at the mercy of the little piglet and despite Yuri's hidden respect for him, things are still a little awkward and slow going.

Good things about this situation

They have Wi-Fi.

The food is good.

Speaking of food, this is a pleasure trip which means no Yakov getting onto him about portion control. Yuri finally looks up from his phone, half-sprawled across a kotatsu like he's the only one allowed to use it. )

[It's just his luck, getting snowed in at the rink the very first day he actually makes it here after his move to Russia. If it had to happen with anyone, though, Yuuri's just grateful it's Mila, someone he's actually getting along with, that he's stuck with. Imagining being stuck here with Yurio, for example, makes Yuuri cringe.]

If he thinks about it, there are worse places to have ended up stuck in. Shelter (four walls, a roof, some actual furniture, some dead animal heads on the wall, the usual), food (okay, jerky, which is definitely food, yes), good company (he may be biased), a lack of walkers (there's one dead body but it's been cleanly dispatched and sequestered back in another small room where they don't have to think about it), and, well. The packing of snow around the cabin actually works as an insulator, keeping cold from getting in. There's a fireplace but Jesus questions the practicality and safety of actually using it, all things considered.

Anyway, neither he nor Daryl are injured literally at all for once in their lives so even with just that everything is going perfectly. They're just, you know, stuck. The lantern on the small table is battery-powered and actually still works (he's sure it belonged to the poor dead bastard not that long ago) so he's got it on and is currently picking through the contents of the room methodically. This is a supply run, after all.
