and since we've no place to go

❄ it's quiet
and the snow's beautiful tonight
snowfall;
stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white.
stage ii; very light and intermittent.
stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods.
stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall.
stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it.
scenarios;
① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.
② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?
③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.
④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!
⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.
⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.
⑦ mix and match, or make up your own.

May as well stay up long enough to drink it all? You actually made a good pot, be a shame to let it go to waste, you're right.
[Lips curved into a grin, not faltering even when he could sense a slight change in closeness.]
Have time to kill.
no subject
He's pretty sure that the latter is the best choice.]
It'll stay warm.
[Jack leans in a little more, all but speaking against Gabriel's lips as he loosens his grip on the beanie.]
no subject
Think I will, too. [Stay warm.
Gabriel's lips did brush against Jack's as he spoke, had leaned that much closer without needing to think about it. Another situation, another day, there might have been a hand in Jack's face instead of Gabriel hanging there as he had. As he was. Lingering.]
no subject
[He's grinning, but to Jack's credit, he doesn't make Gabriel wait too long, leaning in and closing the distance. It's tentative, to start, at least until he sees how Gabriel responds. Not that Jack thinks this is going to go poorly, but--it's been a while. There's a lot between them, now, and he isn't going to discount the multitude of ways this could go.]
no subject
Almost too much, or too little time spent these days with everything coming first. Tied hands, restrictions, flared tempers and frustration. Things Gabriel didn't talk about, because there was no 'good' way to.
He finally pushed that beanie back up with one hand as the other settled against Jack's jaw, thumb brushed over skin. Could it hurt to take the moment for what they could? Didn't stop him from pressing lips against Jack's in a more confident kiss, even if it was still testing the waters.]
no subject
Sure, he'd been gunning for it almost since he shoved that mug of coffee into Gabe's hands, but actually leaning in and kissing him reminds him why he tried in the first place.]
I missed this.
no subject
[Gabriel slowly brushed his thumb along Jack's jaw, touch almost careful, before stopping just below his bottom lip. Didn't pull his hand away at all, using the blanket to tug him closer, bundling the two of them together.
Too busy, too much of a risk. Not just soldiers-]
Missed it, too.
no subject
The trade-off is that they’re rarely on missions together and their schedules never overlap. Black watch’s activities often necessitate deep cover that means Jack sometimes doesn’t hear from Gabriel for months. He misses him more than he wants to admit. Hearing that Gabriel misses it too twists something in his chest.
Jack’s eyes slide closed in response to Gabriel’s hands on his face, relishing the moment and the warmth and their closeness. He tucks his head into the crook of Gabriel’s neck, splaying a hand across his chest.]
Still cold?
no subject
Didn't mean he had to like what it meant for other parts of his life, taken away from the people he worked with for so long and knew best. Missed that time, times like this all that much more. Gabriel did miss him, brought up bitterness he kept buried because dwelling wouldn't do him any good.
He wrapped an arm around Jack under the blanket, keeping him drawn close and holding him there. Fingers curling into blond hair, some quiet sigh escaping him—]
Could be warmer. [Nosing against Jack's hairline, more a dry sort of tease than actual complaint.]
no subject
[Warm you up from the inside, nerd. It's a joke, though, because Jack is not moving from this spot unless something literally decides to attack them. Sure, maybe it's unprofessional and as soon as they return to base, it'll be back to business as usual, but for now he isn't going to let anything ruin the moment. They work too hard to let something like this slip through their fingers.]
Or don't. I'd be okay if you stay where you are.
no subject
Still, with how Gabriel almost idly pulled the blankets he'd had around the two of them better he wasn't in any hurry to move. Or reach for that cup of coffee set outside the new blanket-bundle fort. Thank you very much-]
Think you can warm me up better than a cup of coffee, Jack? [Not going to admit to what may have been the ghosting of a kiss against Jack's hairline. He didn't get many chances to let himself be affectionate, why miss let it slip.]
no subject
[It's cheeky, but he knows them both well enough to be pretty confident about certain things, and he's riding a little high simply based on the fact that this is happening in the first place. Maybe a part of him had been worried that Gabriel wouldn't go for it, even in the isolated safe house with nothing else to do until the weather clears up. It's a fear of rejection he's not quite accustomed to.
But they're over that hurdle now, and Jack is fully content as Gabriel noses into his hair. It's enough for him to try and press this a little further, hands worrying at the hem of Gabriel's shirt.]
Depends on whether or not you want to deal with a mess.
no subject
Time spent apart, there was some small pieces of Gabriel surprised that this had even started, perhaps played a part in why he was so easily going along in his own relief.
Or maybe that was some silly little thought, a little more occupied by where Jack's hands were, tossing a little cheek right back.] Can drag you into helping me with it.
[Curling fingers under Jack's chin then, tilting his head up to meet lips for another kiss, something far bolder than the last.]
no subject
I'm volunteering.
[He swings a leg over Gabriel, straddling him face-to-face. Not exactly the most becoming of positions for Overwatch's strike commander, but he's far beyond the point of caring, running his hands up Gabriel's chest as he leans into the kiss.]
no subject
God, it was worth it.] That'll make things easier.
[Hands caught Jack at the waist, all the better to haul him over with that leg swing and get him sat that much better in his lap. Dragging fingers up along his back, a few quickly catching into his hair, keeping him drawn close and pulling Jack into a deeper kiss.]
no subject
But he doesn’t think there’s going to be any more complaining, not even about the mess. He sinks his weight into Gabriel almost shamelessly, ducking in for that kiss and parting his lips for it, returning it with just as much conviction.
From there, it’s all too easy to slide his hands up and under Gabe’s shirt, pushing it out of the way, suddenly finding the idea of anything at all between them to be almost unbearable.]
no subject
All he was worried about was keeping Jack close, hips bucking beneath him once with some low sound muffled into his mouth. Taking the open invitation of parted lips almost eagerly.
Something that had been on his mind too long, and he had wanted this more than he would admit. Showed it more.]
no subject
He tries to work Gabe out of his shirt, which is easier said than done when it's so hard to stop kissing him. The roll of hips beneath him is also distracting, but he steels himself, encouraging Gabriel to bend so that he can start peeling off layers of clothes.]
no subject
Gabriel didn't want to take his hands off Jack, but it was either give on that or hide any rips in his clothing when all was said and done. So he gave, one arm at a time before both hands were slipping down the back of jack's pants. Grabbing hold of his ass as teeth dragged against Jack's bottom lip; if he wanted to deal with peeling off clothing he could.]
no subject
Hands slide down the back of his pants and grab at a his ass and he’s immediately arching, sitting up and cupping Gabriel’s face.
no subject
Nails dug a little into skin, even as his head tilted into Jack's hands, huffing out a breath as a faint smirk tugged at his lips. A warmth in his gaze—
Gabe pulled him closer by that grip, rolling hips up against Jack in a slow and deliberate grind while his head moved forwards. Teeth grazing the side of Jack's neck, a low groan muffled as lips sealed against flesh, aiming to leave the first of a few marks.]
no subject
Gabriel certainly isn't cold now, even as they're steadily decreasing the amount of clothing between them. He's not worried about coming out of this with marks (his uniform covers almost everything, after all), and he cranes his neck readily, practically inviting Gabe to do whatever her likes.
He'll go one further while all this happens, shifting his hands to the front of Gabriel's pants, starting to fumble for his belt.]
no subject
Jack gave all the permission he needed, palm of his hand rested against the back of his head and curled into his hair to keep his head tilted back. Worry at skin with his teeth and even biting down hard enough that it didn't quite hurt before soothing over it with his lips. Tailing down along Jack's throat like that, moving towards his chest.
Gabriel bit down harder at Jack's collarbone, sucking on skin as he hummed, shifting to lean back as hips shifted to try and give him that much more room to get a handle on his belt. Gabe's other hand rested down the back of Jack's pants again, thumb rubbing just above the cleft of his ass as fingers squeezed.]
no subject
[Because Gabriel is definitely sucking hard enough to leave a mark. There's a grin in Jack's voice, however, the slightest hint of smugness that indicates he does not at all care if someone catches the Strike Commander with a hickey. If anyone even bothers to address him about it--likely they won't, which makes the comment all that more pointless.
He's sort of getting a kick out of the thought, anyway.
A contented noise rumbles through his chest as Gabriel nips at his collarbone, and he pulls the belt apart, making quick work of the button and zipper. His hand teases the front of the shorts underneath, fingers dipping below the elastic rim.]
no subject
Maybe I should leave a few more, since you're already going to get in trouble.
[Ifs, pointless, but there was still some twist of amusement in his words, spoken against skin as they were so lips still brushed against jack's collarbone. Nipping with a bite as if to show he was fully willing to follow through.
Temporary as they would be, fade away as all bruising did.
Of course he rolled his hips slowly from the tease of touch and fingers, Gabe dragging his hand back around with a slight scratching of nails at Jack's hip. Continued to drag over fabric before cupping him through his pants, palm pressing against Jack's clothed cock, squeezing as his thumb rubbed some idle circle.]
