LOVE CONFESSIONS
You can't be around this person without your stomach tying up in knots or your heart skipping a beat. You know, all those cliches people use to describe that feeling of being in love with someone close to you.
You've finally decided it's time to share those feelings of yours and get them out in the open, even if it doesn't end well for you!
1. extravagant confession. You've set up a wonderful night, planned everything down to the T to make sure it's perfect for your confession!
2. note/text. You couldn't do it face to face, so you send a note or a text instead.
3. doomed. You know the other person doesn't love you or just can't be with you, but you need them to know how you feel anyway.
4. childish. You're not actually in love. You just have a childish crush on someone's close to you.
5. bittersweet. Things have all gone to hell anyway, so you might as well let everything out in the open, right?
6. in the heat of the moment. You guys are having an argument and you didn't mean to blurt out how you feel about them, but... oops.
7. serious. You're dead serious about this person, no doubt in your mind, and it's time to tell them.
8. a lie. You don't really love this person, but you're forced to play along either for their sake or because someone is forcing you to.
9. drunk confession. You're not in your right mind, either from drugs or alcohol, and you just let it all hang out about how you feel about this person.
10. lust confession. You don't love them exactly, you just want their body.
11. still in love. You were together once before and broke up for some reason, but you still love this person and they have to know it.
12. other. miss something? Play it out anyway!

These two are idiots
When are they ever not?
He pulls away, nudging their noses together.] Watch my back.

I always do. Keep it simple and get your ass back here before you make me too jealous.

[Which is Clint's way of not realising that there's an edge of seriousness there. He's used to flirting with Coulson, but there's never been any follow through. He takes a breath, extracting himself from his side, and making his way over to the bar. Here goes nothing.]

Don't keep me waiting too long. [He puts on a smile. Acting like he's madly in love with Clint Barton isn't a difficult thing to do.]

He gives the target a winning smile, letting him buy his drink. There's a little conversation then, some light flirting, which turns heavy from the target's side. He's had a few to drink, Clint can tell, but he plays along, letting them get up in his personal space. He sets a hand on them, making it seem a little coy, but he uses the opportunity to plant the bug on them. Too damn easy.
He picks up his drink, which he hasn't touched yet, raising it in 'cheers.' As he bids the target good evening, and makes his way over to Coulson. He sips at his drink.] Got a drink, but no number. Guess I'm slipping.

He only relaxes when Clint returns to his side, a possessive arm slipping around his waist.] You don't need a number. You're already spoken for.
no subject
That right? So, what next, sir? Gonna stake your claim?

I think you and I should go back to our hotel room and I'll peel you out of that suit.
[It's not quite a whisper. If someone is listening, the'll hear it.]

[He takes it as the hint that they need to leave, to keep the situation believable, and he's more than happy to turn in for the night. They're sharing a room at the hotel, to keep up appearances. Clint just thinks that Fury knows things, and likes to torture him. He scrunches his nose up, knocking back the rest of his drink, before swiping his tongue out along his lips, to catch the residual liquid that remains after doing so. He rubs his hand at the back of his neck, leaning into the warmth of Coulson's body instinctively, a brief flash of surprise on his face at the heartbeat pounding against him.]

[He knows he gave himself away and the fact that Clint hasn't moved away yet seems to be a good sign. Phil leans over to kiss him again. It's more hesitant and yet even more open and honest than anything they've ever done under cover. This is Phil finally admitting to Clint how he feels and testing the water. Hoping and praying that he was making the right move.]

[Clint's own heart started to race a little. This kiss felt different than the others, something a little more hesitant and sweet, and less the 'act' that they'd been putting on. He allowed himself to hope for a moment, that Coulson wasn't building the believability of their cover, but that doubt was still pressing at the back of his mind.]
no subject
[Phil's taking a chance. He knows that. But it's one he has to take. Otherwise, he would never know. And that might be the worst part.]
no subject
[Not knowing was always the worst part. Not knowing where the line between them was, if the flirting they'd been doing for years was just as simple as that or more, if Coulson cared even half as much for Clint as Clint did for him.]
