[Gwen Stacy is a gorgeous, adorable, charming girl. And if she weren't his best pal's girl, Harry would totally be trying to weasel a proper kiss out of her. But she is, so he's slapping down a handful of way more money than he probably should with a playful grin--] For charity, right? [--and then he turns his head and points to his cheek. Give him a smooch right there, and his over-the-top charity money is yours.]

[ Oh boy. It's hard to keep the amusement off her expression, but she keeps her face relatively straight as she watches him. Pretending to ponder the situation, she sighs. ]

I don't know, Mr. Big Shot. That kind of money buys you more than just a little peck on the cheek.

[ Unsurprisingly, Harry's best pal hadn't managed to show up to this little charity shindig yet. She was starting to think he might not come at all. ]

[Oh, no. Harry knows you well enough at this point to know the twinkle of barely contained laughter in your eyes, Gwen. It just encourages him more, y'know.]

No, no. I think it's just the right amount for a kiss on the cheek from the magnificent Gwen Stacy. A real kiss is worth a whole lot more. [And he nods knowingly, as if he's an expert on these matters.

Leave it to Peter to be late or a no-show entirely.]

[She does smile at that, shaking her head at him.]

Wow. I bet you use that line on all the girls at the kissing booths.

You old smoothie.

[ Fortunately, Harry is just the distraction she's been needing. Nothing like her best friend to keep her from thinking about the no-show boyfriend. ]

[Ah, there it is! A smile. Harry's beginning to take pride in his ability to cheer Gwen up-- or at least get her to crack a smile for him.]

Nope. That one's reserved just for you. [A beat, wherein Harry quirks his mouth to the side and tilts his head.] I mean, most of the girls here don't even like me to start with... but even if they did, you'd still be top notch in my books.

[ Harry really did have a knack for cheering her up and making her smile. It was one of his many talents, even if he wouldn't admit to it, humble guy he was.

Smirking a little, she shook her head slowly. Possibly she was blushing just a little bit, too, though she wouldn't easily admit to that one aloud. ]

Okay Harry, you need to stop putting me on some ridiculous pedestal. Seriously, what am I going to do with you?

No... What? You deserve every bit of that pedestal. [Well. At least Harry can admit that he's definitely putting her on one. But frankly, he's not sure how anyone could manage not to, because--] C'mon, you're an amazing gal! Embrace it.

[And... yes, that's Harry reaching out to boop your nose with a finger, Gwen. Actual child Harry Osborn.]

[ SUCH a child. But the little 'boop' made her wrinkle her nose and giggle. Honestly, how was she supposed to be anything but cheerful when he was around? It really wasn't fair. ]

You really do know how to make a girl feel special, Harry.

[ And with that, she made up her mind. Leaning forward and reaching out to grab his shirt, she pulled him closer - close enough so she could press her lips to his. Oh, it was more of a peck than anything else, but really - he deserved it. After pulling back she bit her lower lip against an almost shy grin. ]

[Harry doesn't even get a chance to wave off Gwen's compliment before she's decisively tugged him in for a proper smooch. And just like that, all of Harry's smooth bravado jumps out the window and shows him for what he really is: an awkward, dorky sap.

Because he's standing there, equal parts surprised and amazed with his face gradually sifting through many shades of pink.] Wow. [And then he's averting his eyes down, trying not to grin himself. (Spoiler: it's not working, and he's definitely grinning.)]
