[ MAPS... why do you scare him like this? there's a moment where his teeth grit and he inhales sharply as she pops up because he just... did not expect the sudden loud, excitable girl in his space.

he just listens to her, expression turning into a small scowl while his arms cross over his chest and he thinks of how to reply. of course he knew about all of this but he doesn't want to admit it. ]

That... doesn't sound that boring. Have you been alright?

(He cares! He really cares! That smile on Maps' face gets bigger, but she nods eagerly in response to his question.)

Uh-huh! I'm totally fine! Olive's always looking out for me and of course, I've got her back 'cause we're BFFs! Did you hear? Some crazy villain who called herself 'Gladius' held the Academy hostage once but Batgirl and her crew saved us! I helped out too, and lent a hand the only way I could.

(That Batarang Damian gave her has really come in handy during most of Maps' more complicated 'missions.' Just ask Red Robin. Or Batgirl.)

but when maps shares that, he just narrows his eyes at her because why didn't gordon tell him. or drake. or anyone who isn't maps herself!! except, of course, they wouldn't know about his... acquaintance with maps so why would they share it but YOU KNOW NEVERMIND WHATEVER HE DOESN'T CARE. ]
