It was unlikely he would have taken such an intimate gesture lightly anyway. Steve was still smarting over the trick she'd pulled somewhat. He wanted answers though, wanted to know why she'd decided he was fair game if they were supposedly on the same side.

The bed really wasn't, Steve was so tall his feet literally hung off the end of the but it was the farthest thing from his mind at the moment. "To talk to you of course." He moved to smooth down his hair and climbed to his feet carefully. The blond man knew his height could be intimidating at times, especially when he was feeling as raw as he was now, the displeasure plain to see on his face. "If we're on the same side, why'd you do it?"

A frown creased her features, she deep in thought. "But... we weren't on the same side. At least at the time we weren't." Sharon looked up at Steve; the anger visible on his face was not exactly helping her forgive herself for what she did to him.

Wincing slightly, she said quietly, "I was sent by SHIELD to infiltrate THEM by whatever means necessary. I didn't want to do what I did to you, but... THEM ordered that I do so."

Now, it was her turn to look put out. "Wait, are you under the impression that I wanted to hurt you?"

"No, Agent Carter, I don't think you deliberately set out to be malicious but did it ever occur to you to let me in on that ruse of yours? Because you do work for SHIELD just like me. Or even mentioned it to Fury in a report so I could have had some heads up going into the situation?"

God damn, he hated covert ops for just this reason. It was like it gave operatives some license to be as ruthless as they might want or to destroy lives without a hint of remorse. All because it was in the name of the mission.

She raised her chin, determinedly, voice dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't have time to write and give weekly reports to Fury. I was too busy avoiding suspicion and whatnot." Going into this mission, Sharon was well-aware of the danger and the lack of contact she'd have with SHIELD once she got into the thick of things. Sometimes, she'd go two weeks without speaking with an operative because the situation was too risky.

"And you're making a big deal about this why?"

"Because I don't like being toyed with, Agent Carter. And a little professional courtesy would have been nice." He'd been manipulated into caring about her cover identity, Irma. No, truth be told, Steve had fallen hard for her only to find it was all a lie. That she'd used him to sell her cover.

"I understand in your line of business that you have to use unconventional methods at times but I find it hard to believe you never found the time to let your handlers know the mission parameters or what THEM wanted from you. I would have played along with it, you know."

She glared at him, folding her arms across her chest. "Professionalism? What kind of superhero -- soldier -- allows himself to have feelings for enemy spy? If you want me to feel guilt over what I did, fine. I will do that. But, I'm not going to feel regret over it. I carried out my mission and civilians were saved because of it."

Sharon looked away from him, a scowl still plastered on her face. As far as she was concerned, this matter was shut, blown up, and she walked away from it, slow-mo style.

"But you didn't exactly represent yourself as an enemy spy, now did you, 'Irma'," he stated coolly, expression going neutral.

"Either way, I have the answer I was looking for. I apologize for taking up your time, Agent 13." Steve murmured, stepping around the blond woman so he could head for the door.

[ooc: And now with the right account too. So much fail, I apologize. >.<]

Sharon sucked in a shaky breath when he moved past her and a cry that she didn't know she was holding in ripped from her throat. "Everything I said to you as Irma... I really did mean it. I wasn't lying about that, Steve."

All the great things she said he was, everything she thought about him, everything she felt about him, that much about her was true. And she needed him to know that before he left.

((ooc; it's alright! we'll roll with it.))

He wasn't sure what to make of that, honestly. It would have been a lot easier if she'd just let it be and let him think if had just been a mission.

When he looked back over his shoulder at her, he didn't look particularly happy about her confession. "There isn't much to be done about that now." The super solider finally said quietly. "Goodbye, Agent 13."

And with that, he slipped out of the bedroom and headed for the front door.
